Lovely resort but let down by poor service. Gorgeous surroundings but not 5 * service. Check in unimpressive and made to feel second class. They rushed off and then made us wait. To be fair they knocked stuff off bill when we complained at check out. Would be helpful to be shown around when checking in. Great beach. Great nature. Good restaurants nearby.

The most special thing about this property is the abundant wildlife that is unique to Costa Rica. We had monkeys, iguanas and a toucan right outside our patio area. You can take a sloth walk and learn their habits and locations.
Jans, our concierge, was very helpful in arranging several tours for us, transportation, and a grocery order. The restaurants and pools on site were also great. You can swim while you watch monkeys and sloths. Views vary by location on the property, ours happened to be spectacular. The beach was beautiful but it's hard to see the jellyfish in the cloudy water. The property is on a very steep slope but shuttles run frequently. We visited for one week in July and did not have weather ruin any plans.

The place is absolutely amazing. It’s like staying in a zoo. Saw monkeys, sloths and macaws from our window and a monkey on our deck. Beach is amazing, pools are great, and staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Honestly, we weren’t that amazed by the park after staying at Tulemar because there was so much wildlife and such beautiful grounds. Would give it more than 5 stars if possible. Probably the most beat resort we’ve ever stayed at!

Love it. It was awesome. Our bungalow was very nice and the beach was fantastic. We also enjoyed the food at the Tule cafe

This was our family dream trip. We splurged and went to Tulemar and it did not disappoint in the least. Awesome facility. Clean rooms. Amazing nature setting. Saw sloths, monkeys, macaws, toucans and many other animals on site. Beach was beautiful. Service was top notch. Shuttle service was quick. Concierge, drivers, restaurant staff, everyone was top notch! If you go, ask your concierge to do the on site Sloth Walk, which takes you through the property to look for sloths and other animals. It was a great tour, that was economical and informative.

Everything exceeded our expectations. From the friendliness of the staff. To the beautiful villa. To the non-stop wildlife cruising through daily. To the private beach. To the courtesy resort shuttle. To the room service. To our deck view. Even the weather cooperated. In a word..nirvana. For real...

Exceeded expectations. Low-key, quiet, beautiful grounds, not ostentatious, just great!

Loved how all villas had some ocean view and sunset view. Like being in a treehouse. Their cafe had the best food in the local area. Best beach around, not busy. The staff was amazing for anything you needed. The tours they offered were fantastic. Only negatives- hard to get hot water for showers.

My wife and I spent 7 nights at Tulemar Resort for our honeymoon and we both agree that this was the perfect choice- we can't imagine any better place we could have selected for this once-in-a-lifetime situation.
The location is simply astonishing, with a unique fauna and flora right outside your doorstep or in front of (and sometimes on) your balcony.
We had booked a 1br villa, which offered lots of space and everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The on-site restaurant delivers all the food and drinks to your room if you don't bother going there, but there are also plenty of good choices outside the resort (including the partner restaurant Victorias).
The beach of the resort is clean, beautiful and large enough to offer sufficient space, with food and drink service coming from the Tulecafe.
We had booked several activities offered by the resort, that were all perfectly organized by our simply amazing concierge Orlando, including a natural park walk to manuel antonio, a sloth walk, a jungle night-time tour, a mangrove cayak tour, an in-house chef dining and a Spa treatment.
This is the final and most important part: Orlando was just an outstanding host, much more than "just" the concierge his title says. Getting a message every morning how we are doing and how he can support is something neither of us ever experienced anywhere in the world. Any ask or request we had was fulfilled and confirmed withing minutes. Tulemar was a ***** experience, Orlando made it *****Plus!

Beach, wildlife, proximity to jungle. Excellent bungalows and staff

Loved everything about Tulemar except a few unruly young adult guests that were feeding the monkeys and making the staff work harder than necessary. Take the Sloth Walk. Learned so much about the wildlife on the grounds!

We absolutely loved Tulemar and did not want to leave. Orlando and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. The shuttles around the property were a blessing for all the hills. The beach was clean and beautiful. Our villa was amazing! We loved seeing all the creatures around the property. I will be recommending this location to everyone.

Wonderful staff, they made sure your every need is met (thanks Orlando!). We stayed in one of the villas with a rainforest view - and we were able to see so much wildlife from our balcony! Thanks for a great vacation.

Amazing property! Lots of wildlife to be seen. Beautiful beach! Concierge Laura available via text and was super helpful. Better guidance at checkin would help - how to use safe, convenience store, pool locations…
Good restaurants within easy walk.

Perfect resort!

We were in the premium villas (2 bedroom 2.5 bath). Great amenities though for the price and class of resort we were expecting the villas to be a bit more upgraded. Lighting was fairly poor on the patio where the dining table was so we couldn't really dine outside as a family it was very hard to see. Wifi didn't reach down to the bedrooms on the floor below. The curtains in the master bedroom was nearly impossible to use as it would always get stuck and you have to pull really hard, sometimes feeling like you might accidentally rip the curtain rods right out of the wall just to close or open the curtains each day. That said, the resort is still excellent. We spent the day at their private beach which had gentle waves and services like food/drinks and towels. Every evening we sat in the hot tub to watch the gorgeous sunsets (beware it'll take about 60 minutes to warm up). And after we return from dinner we will usually see a volunteer from the sloth sanctuary on property tracking sloths. There was almost always one in the tree right above our car in the parking area right above the villas. It's definitely a pricey stay and for us it was worth it, but just temper your expectations about some of the little details. Pura vida!

We saw more wildlife here than we did in Manuel Antonio. Everything about this place makes it superior to any other stay in the area. Worth every penny!

We loved our time at Tulemar! Everyone on the staff was so helpful and gracious. We had a personal concierge and his name was Miguel, he was great!!
Our tour guide for Manuel Antonio National Park was phenomenal. His name was Carlos and he was so full of knowledge!! We had the best time and I will be recommending him to all my friends who go to Costa Rica!! We will also be recommending Tulemar Resort.

We liked everything, except that some people would talk on the phone on their balconies and we could hear them like they were talking beside us. Also in the bungalow next to us two teenage boys would be make a lot of noise while on their balcony too. Generally noise caused by other guests is my only issue with our stay. Everything else was great.

When we first arrived, I wasn’t totally thrilled. The beach is not an easy walk away, the water isn’t as blue or clear as Hawaii, the room wasn’t that super. BUT, I had to shift my expectations- this isn’t Maui. What makes it better- the SERVICE is amazing. They’ll shuttle you to the beach and back all day. The food at the Tulecafe is pretty amazing. You can have your meals and drinks at the beach. The water is nice and warm. They give you free kayaks, boogie boards, sand toys. There’s plenty of seating and shade at the beach. Hanging out at the beach was probably our best day.
We left the resort to go to a vrbo that was 9x bigger than our casa at Tulemar and at first our entire party was excited to have a giant space. But within a half day, we all agreed we’d much rather spend our time at Tulemar.
We’re a large family, traveling with 4 adults, 2 teens & a baby, fairly well traveled and are lucky to travel well & Tulemar will be near the top of our favorite places and we’d love to come back (we don’t visit too many places more than once).
So sad Tulemar didn’t have the availability to extend our stay :(

The staff at Tulemar are excellent - every one of them! The restaurant food was extremely good. The setting was beautiful. We saw a lot of wildlife here! From the window of our room we saw Scarlet macaws, sloths, Capuchin monkeys, and more. We had a great time here and highly recommend this resort.

The staff was very friendly. Room had an amazing view, with wild animals all around. The room was very clean. The food at the restaurant on the resort was also very good.

This property is absolutely amazing! They really work hard at preserving the nature around the facility and pointing out the wildlife to you. They had multiple pools and they have rooms with a full kitchen and there’s even a little store available if you want to eat in, instead at one of their two restaurants! You have the most amazing views from anywhere on the property as well as a full service private beach equipped with lounge chairs, drink and food service, free kayaks and boogie boards made it even better!!! I’ll be back for sure!

Beautiful property. Lots of wildlife. Amanda our Sloth Tour guide has a really good eye for finding sloths. They’re hard to spot! Miguel guided us through our first visit to Costa Rica, setting us up with transportation, tours, COVID tests and so much more.

This is such an amazing abd unique place, true beauty, one of the best beaches, beautiful pools, lovely staff. I can't recommend this enough!! And you have the added bonus of the sloth institute on site. Nice restaurant but also lots of great local places within walking distance. It was an amazing stay!
