The place was very quaint and had a lot of character. Easy to walk downtown and the view was good. Needs some attention to cleaning and maintenance. Some glasses were very dirty and there was a lot of flies. Shower glass was covered in soap scum. Pointed out a few items but got no response back. We were in a lower unit. The stairs to go to the upper unit were beside our bedroom. There was a locked door as a secondary access to these stairs. It sounded like people were coming into our bedroom when guests for the upper unit came home. It’s was very loud as people came and went. To be expected in such an old building but we could hear foot steps upstairs and talking in the unit next door. Liked the historical look of the place. Nice place but could be better with a bit of work.

A very beautiful historical building. Kitchen is basic. Somehow the cooking oil was kept side by side with hand soap. At beginning I took it as dish soap and was wondering why plate was even more oily … ends up we dared not to use it as cooking oil either . Check in is a bit confusing. I did not get email instructions with in 48 hours. So I have to call the property. The key lock is painted white, same color as the wall, which took us a while to find it out.

I’m sure the hotel and surroundings were beautiful but we never got to stay there. We had a family medical emergency that caused us to cancel our 10 day Iceland vacation and family wedding. Despite numerous calls and emails well in advance of our reservation, the management refused to budge on refunding or even crediting us for the $1000 CAD bill we had pre-paid. All the other 5 hotels we had booked in Iceland were understanding and gave us the refund. I and my family were extremely disappointed with this outcome.

The first experience we had was not being able to get in the front door. It took 10 minutes. The lock is extremely difficult and hurts your hands to get in with the key. We were glad we were on the ground floor because of getting our suitcase upstairs. The coffee had one cup left in the container so we skipped getting any coffee. This is a nice place overall. The street noise is very loud. You can also hear your neighbors. People can also see in with the blinds that are up in the windows. The parkings spaces are extremely tight. You have to make sure you suck in when you get out of your vehicle. I did not feel very secure with the code to the lock on the front door plain as day. Plus side is that it is about a 10-15 minute walk to go downtown to get something to eat. All photos attached are from the front door

Great location with a great view! The loft is very unique and charming and has everything you need! I just wouldn’t recommend if you’re traveling with older people or with kids because of the stairs. Other than that, it’s perfect!

Would highly recommend staying here! Very cool, interesting old building within easy walking distance from the main restaurant/shopping area. Very well decorated and we were very comfortable here. Comfy beds and good views as well
