Fantastic location and brilliant staff. Had a very comfortable stay in a clean room. They even offer discounted rates for the nearby parking garage.

Was a great location. Important to note that the club across the street plays VERY loud music until 3am.

The Snug was conveniently located and they were kind enough to send us details on where to go for off site paid parking. The shower was hot.
Unfortunately the bed was not very comfortable and it was very loud. Even with the provided earplugs in I was not able to sleep though my partner who is a heavy sleeper slept ok.
I think we would have been better staying on a higher floor as there were businesses doing some work to close at around 2AM that was directly outside our ground level window. Unfortunately we were encouraged to take the ground level accessible room due to our luggage which fit fine under the bed so the additional space was not needed.

Very “snug” indeed! Conveniently located on the main strip in Galway. No elevators, but staff did carry up our luggage for us, which was helpful. Bed is tucked away in the corner, so you do have to crawl in, but it was comfortable. Since it is on the Main Street, it’s a little noisy at night, but they provided ear plugs which helped a lot! Not a lot of room for bags, but for a few nights, it did the job for the two of us.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay at! The reception was really nice and helpful with recommendations. Amazing location!

Wish I had a better review. The location is great and the hotel itself was very nice. The whole street is closed off to cars so very walkable. The car park was less than a 5 minute flat walk. There was an excellent coffee shop with breakfast items just next to it for an easy take away before heading back on the road. We got the bunk room for the extra space. Front desk staff was welcoming and helpful. The layout of the rooms is quirky. Because of the location, we expected it to be noisy. The pubs and foot traffic quieted at around 2am. Ear plugs provided by the hotel were appreciated. The beds were comfy. Room got warm and we couldn’t figure out how to regulate. Because of the street noise we dared not to open the window. Most unfortunate was the construction crew that got started at the crack of dawn that made us give up any hope of sleeping in.

Comfortable, clean room, but very loud area at night

A great location and wonderful staff, but.. the snug rooms are just that. Wee!! Too small for 2 ppl. Our room was swapped and suited us but be aware. Galway was fabulous so made up for the surprise of tiny accommodation.

Rooms are very very small but very nice. If you are are comfortable in cramped quarters this is an excellent property.

The Snug was very nice and clean, rooms were great with pleanty of space!

The woman at the front desk was amazing. Our room was on the front of the hotel. When we checked in, we asked if it would be quiet because the street was crazy. The man at the front desk said the windows were triple pained. We were directly across from the Quay and didn't sleep all night. The woman moved us to a great room, gave us advice about where to eat and what to do.

It's right in the heart of where you'd want to be in Galway. The 54 sq ft room we had was postgraduate for sleeping and getting clean. The shower was great! The staff was more than helpful with suggestions for dining or sightseeing. They really were terrific.

Can’t beat the location or the friendly helpful staff.

Property was in pedestrian entertainment district among bars with outdoor seating and live music, very noisy until after 12:30AM. Window treatments did not keep out all the bright streetlights and the bed was against three walls so that the inside occupant had to crawl over the outside occupant to get out. Providing earplugs with each room was not a good solution. Notice about the noisy environment should have been provided along with all other property details.

Overall clean .. very small.. nice area..did not clean bathroom after our first night but did leave new towels.. picture of room is much larger than what we had..we nicknamed our rooms "the closet"., for the price it was good!

The Snug Townhouse is situated in the center of the loudest pub/restaurant area. The street noise was intolerable decibel level which crescendoed at 2am On weekends and on weekdays ended at around midnight.
When the bars close, the party moves to the street.
Then the noise picks up again at 6 am with garbage collection, street cleaners. We heard it all :/
Small rooms with nowhere to hang clothing or towels.
Stair cases are steep and narrow.
Beds are not comfortable.
We would not stay there again.

It was so close to food and shopping, I could drop things off in my room within minutes and go back out again

Wonderful location.

The rooms befit the hotel name; they are very small but efficiently laid out and well suited to travellers. The nearby parking garage at Spanish Arch is also quite tight, but conveniently located. Pack light, there is no elevator. I would stay here again.

The location for exploring Galway was perfect.
Comfortable and clean.

Right in the heart of shops and pubs of Galway. A bit noisey but the windows are thick to block out most noise. Modern and updated and very friendly staff.

Perfect location as long as you’re okay with it being super super loud from street noise alllll night long. And again early morning when the cleanup & trash trucks come through. Lots of stairs, so heads up if you have lots of luggage. They provide earplugs, and you’ll need them. Personally, I liked being in the thick of it.

Nice place. Conveniently situated in the Latin Quarter, right in the middle of all the action. My only concern was that the bed was right up against the wall, so I had to clamber over my partner to get out to go to the bathroom. Other than that, the room/bathroom was lovely.

Needs better lighting, there are no windows and the lighting was poor

We enjoyed our stay! Enrika was very welcoming and helpful. She gave us great tips on where to go and what to do! The duplex was nice and secluded. Exactly as pictured. Excellent location in the middle of the shops and restaurants.

Both Marco and Enrica were incredibly helpful, kind and went out of their way to help us. We love this motel.

Stayed in 2 rooms -- 3 in one, 2 in the other. Many review have mentioned the "smallness" -- I'm not sure what they are referring to. There's a large bathroom, a vanity table/desk, a wall couch that goes the length of the bedroom area and the 2nd bed is lofted. Plenty of space for my husband, 16 year old daughter, 3 suitcases and 3 backpacks. The stairs were narrow and a little complicated to maneuver, but we were offered help immediately to assist with our bags when we arrived (we didn't need it). The location is poppin'! Lively and happening, you cannot beat the location. We had to park in a nearby car park (which if you don't have rolling suitcases might be challenging) which we were given a half price ticket for. There is a little street noise (aka revealers) but it didn't keep us from sleeping. (There are earplugs in the room.) I'd absolutely stay again. Prime spot for everything! Front desk folks were welcoming. Thank you for a great one night stay!

Wonderful location

The first night was spent in a small 10x10 room where the bed was against the wall on 3 sides, and the music from Quay St lasted until 2:30a…couldn’t sleep - then when we finally got to sleep, the trash truck came by at 6:30a…needless to say - crappy night’s sleep and crappy room. But it gets worse - we asked for a quieter room and they moved us to an even smaller room that was like sleeping in a phone booth. The bed was nestled in on 3 and 3/4 sides with walls and you literally had to crawl in and out of bed. Top that off with only one person could stand and get dressed at a time…hell, I had a pop-up camper that was roomier than the one they put us in. Steer clear of the Sung Hotel unless you like to be snug standing, sleeping, or showering…most definitely not worth staying at.

This hotel is fairly nice and clean, but we did not enjoy the intense noisiness from the street, which lasted until ~3:00am. The proximity to tourist shops and restaurants is good, but the constant noise outside late at night was very shocking and disruptive, especially considering we had to wake up quite early the following day and spent most of it with only 2-3 hours of sleep. Our AC machine was also broken and made very loud noises throughout the night. This was stressful because we could not open the windows due to the noise outside, but also could not turn on the AC because it would randomly start making big banging sounds at night and we could not turn it off. The staff did not offer help with regard to the noises outside. The noise issues should perhaps be advertised/noted somewhere in the booking. Beyond this, the towels were also quite small and our room was located up many flights of stairs. These were small issues, but compounded with the extreme noise, this stay was not ideal. We would not recommend staying in this hotel if you enjoy sleep. If you want to have a wild night, this may be the place.

Great, clean and modern hotel and amazing location right in the action of the pedestrian area of Galway.
Only downside is room is very tiny with no windows making it feel claustrophobic.
4.0 / 5.0
It was a great location, but the room was super tight. You couldnt open two suitcases but great for just a place to sleep and very quiet even though it was right in the middle of all the action.

I loved this hotel!!! The location is perfect, right in the centre of the action and yet it wasn’t loud at all. The room was so clean and so cute, I wish we were there more nights just because I loved the room so much! All the staff were so friendly and very helpful, giving us recommendations for places to eat and things to see. I felt so comfortable in this hotel, I would absolutely stay here again. One thing to note is there is no elevator so be prepared to lug your suitcase up the stairs :)

Such an amazing experience. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff

Although the room itself was tinier than I expected, it was plenty for us to be able to relax and enjoy our evening after a long day of tourism. The staff was exceptionally nice and accommodating. They were helpful beyond measure, and when asked for extra shampoo, they immediately left what they were doing to accommodate us.

I understand why they call it the SNUG Townhouse. The rooms are very SNUG. Beautiful property, extremely clean rooms and the staff was great. Great location. I would definitely stay again.
