A inebriated guest from another room accessed my room in the middle of the night
My company raised a complaint on my behalf as this was a work trip and a refund is being processed which is appreciated however the experience was still very disconcerting and resulting in minimal sleep the night before a full day of meetings
4.1
Lovely short stay to visit the BP pulse arena to see the corrs line
Helpful and friendly staff
4.1
Staff were great. Hotel would have been lovely in the past but getting a little tired now, could do with a refurb.
4.1
Lovely hotel. Staff very professional and friendly. Stayed just the one night and had breakfast which was lovely and hot. Would visit again.
4.1
The hotel was lovely and clean. Staff were mainly friendly. Except 1 guy on the thursday late afternoon. Very un happy.
Rooms were noisy i could here the room attached having a rather long phone call early in the morning.
Beds were very hard
4.1
Nice hotel, room was ok, had food from the bar which was very good
4.1
Hotel and rooms are very dated
Room service food was cold and the quality was poor, I had fish chips and peas the chips and peas was cold they brought a new bowl of chips up but I had finished my dinner by then and when I spoke to the hotel they refunded £3 for the chips
Hotel could be lovely but needs updating
No room service menus in the room and no ironing board
Went down to breakfast at 0630 to be told that the chef was not in yet so you could only have continental
2nd day at breakfast no pastries available
4.1
Really good stay, the only bit that could be improved on was the breakfast. Bacon all stuck together so you would get three bits or none, knives blunt, entry a bit slow at times. Reception, bar and restaurant staff absolutely brilliant. Prices and food good. Walked to NEC so that was good too. Generally fantastic, just such tiny issues at breakfast that could be easily sorted.
4.1
Staff were great - particularly the breakfast staff. Room was clean enough but dated. The toilet hadn’t been flushed and had urine in it when I got to my room, rest of the room was ok. Plenty of hot water in the shower and pressure was great. Breakfast food was good quality and hot. Whole hotel feels like its decor is from the 90s, however it’s absolutely fine for an overnight work stay.
4.1
Hotel room now looks a bit rough around the edges. UBS charging point not working next to one of the beds, which was a minor inconvenience. This same USB wasn’t working this time last year! Water drained very slowly from the shower tray. Apart from that it was clean and adequate for our needs.
4.1
Basic hotel, bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the fire alarm went off and could.not.be turned off for.over.an hour. Poor sleep and I would not stay here again
4.1
Great hotel with good breakfast
4.1
The guy who checked me in was really nice, friendly. It was a late check in so I hope that narrows it down :o)
4.1
Great hotel for the price

You get what you pay for, I was only passing through and just needed somewhere cheap, which this was, so I can't complain too much about the 70's decor or poorly facilitated rooms.
However, advertising the spa but the sauna and steam room being out of order for 2 days was very subpar.
As I say, it was cheap and cheerful and lives up to this.

Checking in we were greeted by a very pleasant young lady that was all pleasant booking us in. Only to find apparently I had two rooms booked. I showed her the confirmation on my Hotels.com app and cleared that up. I’d upgraded to a Superior King Room. Well I’d of hated to see a size of a double room. Went down to the bar and ordered a drink and some food. It wasn’t great and the place just felt like it was draining the life out of me. The decor is very Magnolia and bland. Went up to bed. Room was clean but tired. Breakfast was a little lacking in range unless you were having a Full English. Overall couldn’t wait to get out.
4.1
Dated room on the 2nd floor over looking the motorway. Not what I expected for just shy of £200 per night!
False nails left in the bathroom and floor, not cleaned properly.
Breakfast was good at an additional charge and location perfect for NEC but sadly wouldn’t return!
4.1
My daughter’s room was lovely mine however crap. Dirty walls peeling paper chips in the woodwork. USB at side of both beds didn’t work. Windows filthy window sill full of dead flies.
4.1
Stayed here before but rather disappointed this time as there was no food available on our return from the event at the NEC. Previously we have been able to get food. We had not been advised at check in. We were advised to go to the petrol station down the road.
4.1
Very good
4.1
Pleasant friendly staff
Good parking and despite proximity to motorway very limited road noise
Hotel a little old and tired in places but clean and well maintained
4.1
The hotel is right next to the airport, which made it super convenient since we had an early flight the next day.
The place was super clean. The staff were super nice.
It had free parking and was gated, which I felt safe.
I would have given a 5-star rating for Property condition, except the USB ports next to the bed were not working. The next morning, we let the staff know and they were very apologetic and asked how they can make it up. We just told them not to worry about it.
Since we were there just one night and with an early fight out, we didn't check out the rest of the amenities, but it is supposed to be a leisure hotel. Too bad we didn't have the chance to find out.
Would definitely recommend staying there.
4.1
The Arden Hotel & Leisure Club was a nice hotel close to the airport. We were fairly comfortable in our hotel room. The staff was really nice and the food was pretty good. The reason for the downvote is the location. It’s really difficult to get anywhere to and from the hotel.
It would be really nice if the hotel could offer a shuttle to Resort World or some other area that has some options in walking distance.
I would definitely stay again, though.
4.1
Very dated room, although bathroom looked newer. Shower pressure was poor. Hairdryer in drawer not very good as wire too short to dry hair properly. Plenty of plug sockets which was good and bed was comfy.
4.1
Hotel staff lovely. Nice clean room with enough room for our disabled little one in a standard room. Will use again
4.1
Full of travellors
4.1
Great hotel for staying free if flying from Birmingham
4.1
This was fairly convenient for the NEC event 'Festival of Quilts' - it took about 15 minutes to walk there. However, it did not seem to be on the free NEC shuttle bus route in a direct way but the reception sorted a taxi for us when it was raining heavily one morning. We ate dinner in their restaurant, which was excellent; and nice that the staff recognised us the second time!
4.1
Welcoming, friendly, and convenient
4.1
Hotel is comfortable & all staff we met were helpful, cheerful & efficient. Food was good. Only problem we had was trying to find it amongst the on going road works, signage was awful & the experience, after a difficult 4 hour journey, would put me off visiting again.
4.1
Do NOT stay here, truly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had.
The staff are incredibly rude, dismissive & genuinely seem to be annoyed anyone is staying there.
The room was utterly disgusting, the bathroom smelt like sewage the moment we walked in.
The air conditioning was leaking throughout the stay.
The room itself was dirty, it was small & nothing like the pictures.
The worst hotel I’ve stayed at, far better options in the area.
4.1
The room was hotter than the face of the sun, humid and an ear piercing alarm went off 3 times at 4am. Worst nights sleep I’ve had in years
4.1
All members of staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Normally in cheaper hotels you expect it to be a bit 'rough around the edges' but this wasn't the case at all. Beds comfy, rooms and general areas clean, staff welcoming. Highly recommend.
4.1
Nice hotel. With it being warm could of done with air con. Staff really friendly and good facilities.
4.1
Great, rooms just a tad dated.but good service, used the gym was in good condition for a hotel gym. Good pool, restaurant food was very nice again with great friendly service
Free secure parking, a short walk to resorts world if you fancy a change. Very competitively priced
4.1
Hotel decor could use an update, but it was perfectly adequate.
4.1
Great location, rooms and service.
4.1
Near airport. Friendly staff
4.1
Property is getting tired and needs a refurbishment. However, the bed was new and very comfortable. Staff were lovely and the food for breakfast and dinner was excellent.
4.1
Considering the proximity to the airport, and the train line, it was very quiet.
Breakfast was delicious.
