Cesar, our host, was really nice and helpful and we could reach out to him whenever we had a question. All the workers on site where really nice and friendly. The farm is setup within beautiful surroundings and there where lots of farm animals to look at. We are definitely planning on coming back again in fall!

Na quinta, tem os animais, galinhas, gansos, perús e a burra, que é um sucesso com as crianças.

Very nice place, the house had everything you need for a nice stay.
The pool is big enough, nice place to cool down. If you open the door in the morning you are welcomed by the cats and the dog, watch your food though :)
The owner and his parents are very helpful, they really make you feel welcome.
It's a nice place to relax and have nice walks in the seemingly endless hills. Take a walk to the village to watch the castle and get a coffee in a bar (the walk to the village is much shorter if you take a right turn just after you leave the farm). A good place to have a calm and relaxing holiday. Don't forget to look at the sky when it's dark, the amount of stars is amazing.

Fantástico
O Monte dos Vicentes acabou por se tornar um lugar fantástico. Foram dias de calmaria, de sol piscina, diversão e descanso. Ideal para levar crianças e mostrar-lhes o que de melhor tem o campo. É verdade que o sol e o calor podem ser fortes, mas nada que umas sombras frescas e uns banhos de piscina não resolvam. Apesar de ser uma terra pequena, Terena tem uma vista linda sobre as planícies alentejanas, e ainda assim situada entre Redondo, Alandroal ou Vila Viçosa e mesmo Elvas, permite uns excelentes passeios a pouco tempo de distância do Monte. Enfim, umas férias excelentes, num local a roçar o idílico numa companhia incansável nos pedidos efectuados, como é o caso do Sr. César, (o dono) ou dos pais deste, responsáveis na sua ausência. A repetir sem qualquer dúvida.

If you want to relax close to the stars, on natural enviroment this is the place!!!
The farm has 4 houses for rent very well equiped,in a traditional alentejo style, simple but with very good taste. Near the pool you have a barbecue were you can cook and take bath, or simply enjoy the evening with a glass of wine from one of the best demarcated regions of the world.
At the same time the geographic location is so good that you are nearby from Évora and other historical villages like Monsaraz.
The owner is very helpful and gentle ( he gave us some biologic tomatoes and olives from the farm).
Definitely we are going to come back

Duas semanas fantasticas no Monte dos Vicentes
Foi uma experiencia verdadeiramente única e 2 semanas fantásticas onde tudo correu bem.
A quinta é fabulosa, a casa agradável e confortável.
É indescritível o contacto permanente com a natureza, o silêncio da noite, o céu estrelado, o por do sol!
E nunca mais vamos esquecer a fabulosa noite com a observação da Lua e o planeta Marte.
Queremos também AGRADECER a simpatia, disponibilidade e o bom trato de toda a família (Cesar, R., S e V.)

Magnifiques vacances
Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour chez César. Ce séjour a été le plus beau moment de notre voyage. Nous nous sommes tout de suite sentis bien. Le calme, les animaux, la piscine. Chez César, nous avons appris à prendre le temps, à observer la nature... Les trois enfants de César sont adorables et se sont très bien entendus avec les nôtres. Quel joie d'aller chercher nos légumes dans le potager de César pour cuisiner notre repas. Chaque matin, nous commandions à César un bon pain qui arrivait tout chaud. Les environs sont également magnifiques. César est disponible, souriant et serviable. Bref, une adresse de charme qui nous laissera un souvenir magnifique.

Uma semana fantastica
Foi uma semana fantastica. Adoramos o contacto permanente com a natureza, o silencio da noite, a simpatia do Cesar e dos rapazes, a piscina, os cantos acolhedores, e o Faial (o cao).
O nosso filho adorou as brincadeiras com as outras criancas, o poder participar nas actividades com os animais, as brincadeiras em geral, a piscina... Em resumo a liberdade!!!
As instalacoes optimas inseridas num cenario, que nos suspende no tempo, e que agora nos provoca um sorriso nos labios quando nos recordamos dos dias fantasticos que la passamos...

Nous avons séjourné 4 nuits chez Cesar. Le monte, les chambres sont agréables, C'est un lieu idéal pour les jeunes enfants en quête de découvertes. À recommander !

Maravilhosa e inesquecível
Foi uma experiencia verdadeiramente agradavél.
Adoramos o contacto permanente com a natureza e o corte com o corre corre do dia à dia nos grandes centros urbanos.
Adoramos o céu estrelado, o por do sol de um laranja intenso, a cor dos campos...
Tudo o que de belo o nosso alentejo tem para oferecer, pode encontrar-se aqui no monte dos Vicentes.
Mais ainda, adorámos a discrição, a disponibilidade e o bom trato de todo o staff. As longas tardes de conversa com os miudos ''Fontes'', as brincadeiras na piscina, as gargalhadas dos miudos...

Perfect farm stay - awesome for toddlers
Our two year old loved staying at Cesar's. She loved being greeted by the three cats and Faial the dog. The cottages are cozy and quiet. The farm itself was beautiful. We were able to make a meal from the garden and fresh eggs. Cesar is a great host who lets you engage at your own pace. He took us to his cousin's farm to pet some baby goats and see the goats being milked. We were also lucky enough to share some amazing bread, fava beans, cheese and wine.
We arrived after two weeks of spring rain and were greated by fields of wildflowers. The castle courtyard in the nearby town of Terena was filled with red poppy flowers. And we had the whole place to ourselves. There is so much to explore in the area and yet you feel like the only tourist in town. All in all we would highly recommend staying on the farm for as long as you can. I hope we can get back soon!

Calm & Relaxing!
Calm, relaxed place. We felt at home. Around the "Monte" there are a lot of small towns and villages and great gastronomy. César is a wonderful host, always ready to help but also giving us our privacy. Great for kids! For nature and animal lovers! Really worth it!

Adoramos o tempo que passamos na quinta..
Otimo para descansar e relaxar sem preocupações..
Gostamos do companheirismo e do dia das pizzas.
As minhas crianças adoraram, além de quererem trazer os gatos com eles, adoraram alimentar os outros animais.. E claro a piscina foi a maravilha para eles e também os amigos que encontraram, especialmente o Vicente pelas idades mais próximas.. 5 Estrelas. A repetir e desta vez no Inverno para conhecer o outro lado da quinta...

Umas ótimas férias, num lugar fantástico!
O lugar ideal para quem procura descansar e estar em contacto com a natureza.
Umas férias muito bem passadas, onde tudo correu bem, desde a chegada até ao último momento. Bem recebidos pelo Sr. César Fontes, sempre disponível e muito simpático, uma casa confortável e muito limpa, uma piscina super agradável e umas paisagens fantásticas, características do nosso belo Alentejo.
Para as crianças não podia ser melhor, pois todos os dias tiveram a oportunidade de ajudar a cuidar e alimentar os animais da quinta! Aliás, ganharam tanta afeição pelos animais, que no dia em que viemos embora não conseguiram conter as lágrimas. Foi uma experiência muito positiva e, sem dúvida, a repetir.

Our experience of the farm, Terena and Alantejo
We were first time visitors to Portugal, having toured Spain extensively over the last 20 years. We wanted to experience a rural setting which would give us a relaxed base to return to daily but enable us to visit surrounding places of interest on a daily basis by car and that is exactly what we got at Terena. The accommodation was well maintained and clean, basic but charming. Watching TV is not high on our list of essentials but it could be a problem for visitors who do require this service as the channels available are fairly limited. The farm grounds are very attractive with flowers and trees providing a picturesque setting and the farm animals an interest. The clear night sky with an abundance of stars, unencumbered by any artificial lights, was awe inspiring. The surrounding countryside is wonderful, requiring a five minute drive across open woodland where herds of cattle graze. The wildlife and bird life also provided a constant interest. The family who own and live on the farm were welcoming and available for questions but never intrusive. We travelled daily to nearby towns and cities, my favourites being Vila Viscosa and Evora but there were many small towns which were both beautiful and charming. The food and drink of the area were outstanding and the local people I met were welcoming . We will be visiting again

Um Monte perdido na calma do campo. Adorámos a quinta em si, a casa, o ambiente, os animais, as ervas aromáticas, as ameixas, o céu estrelado, ...
O anfitrião, César, uma pessoa muito simpática e sempre disponível para responder às questões das pessoas da cidade, e principalmente com muita paciência para as crianças que querem explorar a quinta e tocar nos animais.
Uma experiência a recomendar e a repetir!

Ce petit havre de paix est encore mieux que ce que l'on voit sur les photos.
Nous avons passé un séjour magique! Les mots qui définissent cette jolie ferme: calme, couleurs magnifiques dignes de tableaux impressionnistes, des parfums de fleurs d'orangers et de citronniers qui embaument l'air…
César est un hôte discret, gentil, disponible et incollable sur l'histoire de sa région.
Nous reviendrons avec joie une prochaine avec les enfants car tout est prévu pour eux.

Acolhedor, calmo. Óptimo para férias com crianças!
Acolhedor o espaço, linda a quinta. Acordar e adormecer tranquilamente a ouvir sons da natureza, ver todas as noites um enorme céu estrelado. Descansar à beira da piscina e brincar com o nosso pequenote de dois anos juntos dos animais (galinhas, cavalos, ovelhas, gansos, gatinhos, cães...)! Foram dias excelentes e que recomendamos para quem quer recarregar baterias e passar uns dias a relaxar. A casa T1 está equipada com tudo o necessário. Dispões de sala/cozinha equipada, wc e quarto e ar condicionado.
Para crianças pequenas é uma óptima escolha. Podem correr e brincar junto à piscina, na relva à sombra junto às habitações, subir e descer o escorrega no pequeno parque na frente da quinta, visitar os animais, visitar a horta. Excelente mesmo!
Fomos muito bem recebidos e é uma experiência a repetir!

We stayed at Monte dos Vicentes for a week in July. We were looking for a quiet location where we could relax but what we found was much more than that: a beautiful farm, amazingly friendly people and peaceful surroundings. The food was really good (we're still talking about the salad we had on our first night!). We hope to be back soon :)

Accueil et prestations super, nous sommes ravis de notre semaine chez César et quand aux visites à faire dans l'alentejo, elles sont nombreuses et magnifiques et les gens très accueillants.

Merveilleux séjour chez Cesar Fontes
L'alentejo ressemble à la toscane, avec tout ses pics où dépasse le château qui vous attire vers le haut... les villages sont typiques et accueillants, on y trouve des bonnes auberges facilement...et des activités diverses : marché des antiquaires, visite d'Evora, stand up paddle sur la lac de monsarah, visite des nombreux monuments historiques. Chez Cesard, nous avons apprécier sa cuisine : petit déjeuné avec fraises coupées du matin et pains sortants de son four. Sa salade de tomates est fabuleuse avec les fameuses sardines grillées au feu de bois, ses soupes, ses pizzas...tout était généreux et d'un regard très attentif pour le bonheur de ses hôtes. La piscine était très bien étudiée avec ses petits endroits de détente pour fariente en pleine nature. Le logement est simple et très bien aménagé, il ne manque rien !!!! Nos deux ados ont également adoré ...ces vrais moments.

We had a perfect stay on Cesar's farm. A warm welcome, a lovely apartement, nice tours through the beautiful landscape, several activities including horse riding for the children, a refreshing pool, calm places just for chilling, excellent local wine and food,...
In summary holiday at its best!

We stayed there with a small child and really enjoyed the place. It's a small real farm with several animals. It's quiet, since the next - very nice - village Terena is 5min to drive or 20...25min to walk.
May be good to know: Our kitchen just had a basic equipment which may be a bit too basic for cooking a lot. It was ok for us and if anything more is required - we are sure César would organise it.
The contact to him was perfect for us: he was always available for questions at the farm or by call but kept always a distance so that you can live on your own.
We also had a very nice evening together with him with the chance to get an insight into portugese farmer life...and his great cooking skills! :o) Thank you again!
So it's a very nice place for holidays, especially if you also like silence and are interested in Alentejo life.
