Room was nice in Costa Rican standards and was clean. Staff was amazing.The tv should be upgraded to a smart tv and at full volume you could barely hear it so it needs replacing. Breakfast also had teal bacon, something you usually don't get. Bonus!

We absolutely loved this spot! It’s really hard to know which is the best when looking online, but we would say this is one of your best options if the following are considerations: 1) value - the cost vs value is certainly there. This is a very affordable yet very clean and comfortable hotel. We were very impressed. 2) Breakfast was included! Breakfast each morning was served. Eggs, Bacon, Pancakes and Fruits + Coffee and Juice. They were willing to accommodate/adjust the meal how you liked. You could request items not to be included if you had an allergy, and you could also ask for a little extra of something. Again, the value is 100% here. 3) Location - only a couple blocks from the Main Street. Close to grocery stores where you can buy very reasonably priced fruits, coconuts, etc. Great coffee shops and treats like ice cream close by. The other great thing about this location is it’s quiet at night. No loud music, you could hear the animals and are still close enough to all amenities. 4) view/amenities - view was superb and grounds are well maintained and lush. Volcano is right in view each morning. Pool is great for a cool down. I would say only big enough for one family at a time, but didn’t seem to be an issue during our stay. Free parking. 4) Service - very good. The people who work hear are gems. Very helpful, will do their best to assist and recommend items to get you a better deal.

Very nice stay at La fortuna hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommended and would stay again. Property well taken care. Included a good breakfast. Close to center of town can walk to many downtown areas and restaurants.

Beautiful property grounds. Quiet and clean. Breakfast was really good. I saw a giant iguana walk by as while I was checking in which was awesome.

The rooms were clean. The bathrooms could use some updating as one room had a leak in the bathroom ceiling and the other shower pooled water. The beds were pretty firm, so beware. The pool needed some repairs. The inner courtyard was beautiful and we saw many species of birds and a sloth right outside the office. Breakfast was good. The staff were very nice and super helpful.

Beautiful oasis in La Fortuna. Walking distance to restaurants while being in a quiet location. Beds are very comfy. Loved the towel art everyday. Breakfast was great and the service was excellent.

I liked that the hotel was within walking distance to everything in town. The housekeeping did a great job. What I didn’t like was the bed were too firm and they don’t have enough outlets in the room. Other than that Its nice for the price.

Property was located in the center of the town and market. That's the only positive. The room rates were exorbitantly high compared to the rooms types, amenities (NONE) and quality of stay. The hotel is just a grade above a motel.

This hotel has friendly staff and spacious rooms. The breakfast each morning was made fresh and can be enjoyed on their open patio. The hotel’s garden has great views of Arenal Volcano and provides a great place to relax. The hotel is centrally located and just a short walk from downtown, while still being off the main road and providing a quiet place to sleep. The rooms were cleaned daily and the staff provided small additions to make your stay feel special.

Property is in a fantastic location with a great view of the volcano. Restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Also within a minutes drive to the main road which leads to the hikes, hot springs and other attractions The only thing I would liked would have to have a couple of extra power outlets as it was a challenge or charge 3 mobile phones overnight

Hotel Secreto was an amazing place to stay. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The location was spot on for being able to wander the town centre by foot as everything was easily walkable. The room was clean and comfortable. Would certainly make it our first choice if we are lucky enough to revisit La Fortuna in the future

This was an excellent base for exploring La Fortuna and Arenal. You can easily book tours at the hotel or at kiosks in the town (2 mins walk away). They all offer options to collect you if you haven't got a car, but we think we did more for less money by having our own car. The rooms are spacious and have a fridge. The air-con was efficient and had a silent mode for night time. The bedsheets were a cotton polyester mix, which I was worried I wouldn't like, but they were fine. It was wonderful to use the pool, which had humming birds all around it and to look up at the volcano. Breakfast was delicious. The only strange thing was that they did not provide or rent towels for the pool, so be sure to bring your own.

The reception allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel as we arrived early in the day. We were checked in so that when we returned our room was ready and we just had our bags moved in. Breakfast and coffee were a good start to our day.

We loved this hotel! The staff was amazing, the grounds were beautiful, breakfast was tasty and it was in town within walking distance of stores and restaurants. The hotel was set up though that you felt you were far from everything (all of tours picked us up at the hotel too so that was nice). Quiet and serene. Our only issue was the sporadic hot water. Most of the time it was hot, but sometimes only lukewarm and one time cold. We would stay again. Wonderful hotel at a great price!

Upon arrival we were greeted by a really nice lady. Breakfast comes with 3 options. Lots of parking available. Walkable distance to La Fortuna downtown, restaurants as close as 1 minute.

I really enjoyed the stay at this hotel. It is located in the downtown area and very easy to walk to lots of restaurants. Hotel itself is very beautiful and just like a garden and face volcano. You can view the volcano in the room.
