It good true village pub and certainly use again. Even the locals spoke to you in the bar

A clean and comfortable stay but hotel is very basic and run down.

All good, highly recommended, please can you stop Hotels.com hounding me for feedback, this is the third request from a one night stay

Lovely little place in a small single room with a semi comfy bed with small en suite.
Room above the restaurant so I didn’t hear any noise from the pub at any point. Girl who checked me in was lovely.

The hotel sits back from a very busy road and room 3 faced this road . So with windows open a very noisy room. The whole outside wall is damp with bubbling plaster work. Some lights in the room not working . Definitely needs some attention. Needs bedside tables and mugs or saucers . What was most concerning apart from the spores on areas of the interior wall was this which really should have been communicated upon booking is no food available apart from a pop up barbecue in the evening but no ability to get breakfast . Told to walk up the road to another pub as a “walk in “ due to there chef being on maternity leave . I’m a disabled lady so not able to simply walk up the road .Having paid £115.00 for room only being in a very damp noisy room is not value for money .

Very friendly and accommodating staff. The room was just what we needed and very clean. Lovely location too

Absolutely enjoyed our short stay here at Littledean House Hotel! The rooms were a decent size, beds had comfortable blankets and pillows and the en-suite bathrooms were more than adequate. We were surprised at how much room the kids had to play with their monster trucks 😀! Breakfast was conveniently located at Belfry Inn a short walk away. The view from the garden was lovely. Sand was very efficient at check in and super helpful and friendly when it came to recommendations for food and activities. It was our first visit to the Forest of Dean area and this made for a good experience. Would stay again. We stayed with two small kids 3 and 6 and a wee one 5 months. The staff from housekeeping was also very sweet to the baby.

The property was very clean and comfortable, and the owner and staff was very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble for them , would recommend .

On the whole we were very satisfied with the accommodation though the building was showing some sign of aging .On arrival the staff although were quite busy were very pleasant and helpful in the administration,I would definitely return to this establishment on a future occasion.

It was comfortable and cosy.

Incredibly historic old hotel, parts of which are Jacobean. Yet despite this, it doesn’t feel half done at all. The bar is terrific with a contemporary twist which doesn’t detract from the ancientness of the place at all.
My room was spotless and my bed soooooo comfortable it was a struggle to get out.
I arrived late and it was snowing so didn’t get to appreciate quite where l was but, in the morning, the sun was blazing and the thaw was on and the view from the gardens behind the hotel are stunning and indeed, Littledean itself is nestled in the most beautiful location it’s hard to leave.
Combined with the wonderful welcome and hospitality of the young lady behind the bar whose name l cannot remember l’m ashamed to say.
Thoroughly recommend and l will most certainly be back.
Thankyou guys 👍

Lovely location and friendly staff, however the room was very noisy with running water and flushing from other rooms, loud enough to prevent me from sleeping and I'm half deaf.

Absolutely dreadful place . Told by front of house staff " kitchen and bar are closed on a Tuesday night and no breakfast on Wednesdays . The room was awful with peeling paint on tables and furniture . The bed was dreadfully lumpy with no support . The TV didn't work . 4 steps down directly after my rooms door . Hallways were badly lit and very dingy . Threadbare carpets everywhere. Rotten window frames .

A really lovely pub/hotel. We stayed in the middle of October. Our room was very well appointed for the cost. The bed was incredibly comfortable, more so than more expensive hotels that we have stayed in. The owner was very welcoming and accommodating and the pub friendly and cosy. Would highly recommend.

Charming country hotel, had everything you need

On arrival there was no staff to be found. Entrance was at the back of the hotel from the car park, the building was very dated with used beer kegs strewn everywhere. What once must have been a lovely hotel with water features and rolling lawns with numerous outhouses, is now just a local bar with a garden. The rooms themselves were clean and tidy. Its a shame that it has been neglected for so long. It has alot of potential if soneone is willing to spend alot of time and money..

Pretty location, comfortable, nice and very clean rooms, amazing staff

Fantastic place which was super clean, lovely room with a mattress that gave me the best nights sleep I've had. Will definately be coming back as the staff were lovely and friendly.

Booked in a hurry and wasnt aware that bar and resteraunt were closed on Tuesday, the wifi is only available in these ares, the phone and 3g signal was all but non existant, i could hear the guy next door taking a bwee, sounded like it was in my room. there was no remote for the television, the reception man came to room, had a glance around and declared the last guesta must have taken it, this tv had no buttons on it to adjust vol etc and strangely the reception chap didnt look for them ( because he obviously knew there were none)....I hate being lied to and being overcharged to sit in a room, with no entertainment untill bed time, then have to listen to neighbour taking a dump,,,,,very very poor

This has to be the friendliest hotel in which I have ever stayed. If you're looking for a reunion with friends then the atmosphere in the bar is amazing, thanks, mainly, to the affable landlord.

Spent just one night over a weekend. I would describe the hotel as quirky, certainly the communal rooms. The room was very comfortable and clean though the gloss paint was showing signs of wear and would benefit from a repaint.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and service at breakfast was excellent. The breakfast menu itself benefitted from being relatively short which meant everything was freshly cooked. Parking was easy though limited possibly impacted by bar customers vehicles.
It is a lovely old building with several different levels on upstairs, and this coupled with narrow and quite steep stairs may pose a problem for those with mobility issues.
The views at the back of the hotel are very good

Eclectic mix of old and new, main hotel lobby and bar areas have lots of old and interesting features. The rooms have a cozy but more modern vibe bed was super comfortable.

In need of decorating.

The room was small but compact and very warm and comfortable. It was very clean and had everything that was needed. I liked that the old beams were exposed in the walls and the view of the hills from the window was spectacular. It was very quiet and peaceful too and the staff were also very accommodating and friendly.

Ideal, friendly hotel. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. The room was perfectly fine for the price. Will definitely stay here again when visiting family.

Overnight stop on my way to West Wales. Didn't eat dinner, breakfast was good. Rambling old coaching inn with lots of character in a beautiful part of England. Friendly, unfussy service. I would choose it again.

a really good stay with welcoming staff. place was clean and tidy. no problems at all and would definitely book again. thanks.

The hotel rooms are above the pub. The room we stayed is okey with standard and basic ameneties. Friendly staff. Bit noisy from downstair pub noise and the road infront. We stayed just overnight so its fine for us. Breakfast is fine with selection of full English brrakfast, cereals or sausage or bacon bap.

It was only one night, great value for money and ticked all the boxes. Fabulous view out of my bedroom window!! Room was very clean and had everything I needed. Amazing staff - very friendly and helpful. Would stay again if I'm ever down that way and would recommend to friends.

Very good value for money. Very nice hotel.

Hotel is old and a bit tired. Noisy plumbing. Ensuite was OK. Complimentary shower gel and shampoo which was not expected for the price. Very nice bed linen.
Mobile connection is limited to one spot in the car park. The hotel can't do anything about this as it is the location. Friendly staff.

We received a warm welcome and felt we had got value for money. The beds were very comfortable but didn't get a chance to enjoy a lay in due to the next door room's macerator toilet being noisy and the cleaner keen to service the room at 8.15 both mornings we stayed.
