Beautiful venue, spacious room, amazing location, great communications and instructions beforehand. Really comfortable bed. However it was freezing cold!! Even with the radiators on full blast they stayed luke warm and the room and bathroom never warmed up. Water pressure in bath/shower also quite low. I would stay again if these areas were looked at.

The room is big as well as the bathroom. Free parking onsite was a bonus. What I really don’t like is below our window they loaded after a party in the hotel, a van until 2am which made us not being able to sleep. This should not be allowed by the hotel.

The property was lovely. The room was very spacious including the bathroom. The bath was amazing! The only issue was that the tv signal was very bad, even on the apps. It was reported to staff who said that maintenance would call but no-one came to fix it! Could possibly do with a new mattress as the right side was dipped. Apart from that it was a lovely place.

The building is charming, the room was large and well appointed, the linen, towels and room was fresh and clean and the bed was comfortable the only down side my room was at the top of the building and it took a very long time for the hot water to reach the room and the town clock tower was right outside the bedroom window, it strikes every quarter of an hour ALL through the night, I assume the building is listed as it only has wooden single glazed windows so didnt cut out the noise at all. The hotel had provided earplugs on the bedside cabinet, so must be aware of the noise from the clock. This is a real shame as I am working for a extended period in Leicester and I would have happily stayed here had it not been for the noise.

The room was nice and clean and was pretty spacious with plenty of daylight. The location is very central so the included parking is essential. I'd describe this as basic accommodation as it's a wedding venue. When there is no event they let out the rooms but with no staff on site or any of the usual hotel facilities. Entry instructions are emailed the day before your stay - beware Google mail send this to spam. Access to the rooms is up several flights of steep stairs so unsuitable for those who struggle with this.

Really spacious room, comes with many amenities. Private gated parking is a bit tight, but no issue there at all. Needed help with entering the hotel, but called staff and sorted it within seconds. Would definitely recommend 🙏

Amazing stay at The City Rooms. This hotel is centrally located and fabulous if you're looking to stay in Leicester city centre. There is free parking available, which we used, and it really couldn't have been easier. The room is absolutely huge, shame it didn't have a super king size bed, this is what I'm used to at home, as there is ample space to accommodate one. The bathroom was massive and very clean. It was beautiful to wake up to sunshine coming through the sash windows. Will definitely stay again 💯❤️

Unable to find the car park for free parking. Went round and round Leicester but to no avail. Therefore we had to pay for parking some distance from the site which caused us issues as we both have issues walking

The rooms are very spacious, every detail was thought of, the room was lovely and warm when I arrived despite it being a lovely old building. I would highly recommend.

Hotel Room was lovely! Beautiful building, clean and Quiet. Did not receive any information via Expedia from the hotel regarding check in despite contacting them over 6 times the day prior to visiting. Phone number did not answer but sister hotel was as helpful as could be. There was an issue with the messaging, they were able to send the information via email but this took a lot of effort and time to sort. Parking was incredibly difficult, not able to turn around in car park so almost need to reverse in to be able to get out when leaving. When we arrived the key was missing from the key safe and the bedroom door left open. We had to find staff to find the key they had misplaced which was worrying given the lack of correspondence prior to arriving.

Few things I'd like to point out : the room was very spacious, so much so that a sofa would be very appropriate at the end of the bed, considering there's only one desk chair and the bed is super low. The TV is super far from the bed, a sofa or sofa chairs would be a welcomed addition. Secondly, I drew a bath, that took an hour to fill, not only because the tub was larger than average, but because the stream was so low. Literally an hour, I timed it. And for security reasons, you should very much consider adding handles to the tub to get in and out. I have a bad back and had trouble maneuvering without them. And yes, the night crawlers are quiet loud. They only subsided at around 2am. Thanks for the ear plugs! :/

Old building, spacious rooms, very cold in winter and during frost, heating not enough, otherwise clean sheets and room, self checkin, parking available in city center with secured gates, overall good stay, I would consider it again bit not during winter!

It was unusual staying in an unmanned property as there are no staff on site and no other guests staying so we had the whole building to ourselves. The main areas are more old-fashioned but the rooms are modern, clean and well equipped. The shower was fab! However, there were a few stains on the chair and bed frame that could have done with some attention. Great location for City Centre and good value. If you’re a light sleeper, like me, the clock tower opposite does chime regularly throughout the night so the earplugs provided were needed! Would stay again.

This is an unstaffed hotel. There was quite a complicated check-in procedure involving codes, but when I got to the key safe, the keys weren't there. I called the emergency number and within a few minutes someone came and provided me with a spare key, which was very helpful. The room was accessed via a rabbit warren of stairs and corridors. There was no breakfast provided; however, I was directed to another hotel nearby where I could get breakfast. The City Rooms is advertised as a luxury boutique hotel. The reality is very different.

Wonderful stay. The room was as advertised; perfectly clean and tidy, short distance from the station, easy to locate keys for access. We were not expecting such a high standard for the low price, we would have liked to stay longer!

Wonderfully unique accommodation right in the centre of Leicester with parking - I’m sure a rare find! Clear instructions on how to park and check in and staff friendly and welcoming when I did so. Room itself was huge - the bathroom was as big as some bedrooms I’ve stayed in! Because right in the centre, noise potentially an issue- the town hall clock is right next to you which chimes every quarter of an hour but The City Rooms are aware of this as provide ear plugs which I thought was a nice touch! It’s an old property so there is no lift with narrow stairs and the floors are uneven but for me this added to the character and wasn’t a negative. All in all perfect for my city break.

It was very quiet even with the Light up Leicester event going on. My room was warm on a cold night and the bed was comfortable. The only issue was the water pressure in the shower was almost nonexistent. But I would definitely stay again!

It is in great location for visiting the city. There is limited parking. It is just rooms with no breakfast, etc. There are drink making facilities in the room

The overall cleanliness of the hotel was not good pubic hairs all in the bath and round the toilet, the route that had to be taken to get to my allocated room was horrible lots of awkward stairs and dirty and dark, only way to describe it was like being led to the servants quarters, not what you expect when you see the entrance area. I ordered food to the hotel and it was left unattended on the reception desk, I was not made aware so was cold by the time I went to investigate. When I came to check out there was no one on reception. I wouldn’t recomend this hotel. I also felt let down by the website itself as there were no pictures of the inside of the hotel only the outside which looked lovely.

Very central location. Atypical hotel in that rooms above civic offices. Very noisy neighbours. Very steep stairs to the 5th floor with no lift.once arrived the room and bathroom were very comfortably furnished. Noise levels from the fried chicken shop next door continued until 1am with loud drunken customers the norm after 11pm. The fee provision of ear plugs suggests this a common occurrence.

Initially started very well with a lovely lady on reception who kindly guided me in after trouble finding the parking area. Check in smooth. Room pretty impressive in size. My major issue was a sleepless night. A night worker constantly whistling, a generator constantly buzzing but the bells...the bells..the nearby church. They never stop. Every 15 minutes!!!! Throughout the whole night. They did say they left ear plugs in the room but none to be found. A shame because location is great..but over a week on and theyre still ringing in my ears.
