Windows overlooking the garden means that parents can keep an eye on the little guests playing.
UTILITY ROOM

CLOAKROOM
Off the utility room with a WC and wash basin.
FIRST FLOOR

OUTSIDE
Few holiday houses are located in such an idyllic location sitting well back from the road and surrounded by an extensive private garden, yet just minutes from the picturesque seaside town of Aldeburgh and magical village of Thorpeness. The gravel drive sweeps past the front garden where impressive trees shield Sol Backen from the road, and arrives at the house where there’s parking for at least three cars. The south facing back garden is mostly laid to lawn with a gravelled path leading to benches and chairs catching the evening sun in the corner, with a fire pit to take the chill off and a Weber BBQ. A neat patio is accessed from the living room which also has outdoor furniture and a patio heater and there’s a fun raised Wendy House with table football in it, a drinks fridge, beach toys and surf boards, and a porch with a couple of chairs and cushions for the adults. The house is just over a mile by road from the heart of Aldeburgh where you’ll find lots of eateries, independent shops, galleries, fish huts etc. so it might be worth bringing bikes to cycle into town. There’s also a fabulous 15 minute walk through sown Warren Hill Lane crossing the old railway track and the marshes to a secluded part of the beach between Thorpeness and Aldeburgh; or a public footpath through the golf course to town. The Aldeburgh golf club also runs across the Leiston Road to the west with some lovely walks to explore.
Only one dog is allowed and please do not let it on the furniture or upstairs, and please clean any mess in the garden. Many thanks

Mid Century decor was charming and interesting, and the house had many modern features to make the stay very comfortable.

Thanks for a lovely week at Aldeburgh- house is very spacious with lovely outdoor spaces too. This is a great, unspoiled part of England, Southwold and Aldeburgh are both real gems. Framlingham castle is also well worth a visit but if the weather is nice the coast is lovely. If you’re a real ale fan a visit to the Adnams brewery is essential!
Thanks for having us, the Beardah family 🍺

Not your average holiday home! Sol Bracken is a beautiful home with lots of character. There is so much space, high quality furnishings, comfy beds and a well stocked kitchen. The Rayburn was a joy to cook on and the garden is just perfect. WiFi is decent (satisfied a teenager streaming requirements) and Netflix worked a treat for cosy evenings. We've had a fabulous week in Suffolk, with days out in the area and walks directly from the door. The route across a nature reserve to the beach is wonderful in the early evening, and means you can enjoy fish and chips on the beach! Thank you so much for letting us enjoy Sol Bracken.
