We had a fantastic stay at this short-term rental! The unit was well-equipped with air conditioning, which was a huge relief during the hot days. Having laundry facilities available was incredibly convenient, especially for a longer stay. The location was perfect—everything we needed was within walking distance, and the parking situation was unbeatable. We highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again!

Great place walking distance to downtown Kona, 2 minutes. Go to Mass first thing then find coffee and breakfast. Lots of variety. Cruise the island seeing the sites return to the condo and find dinner within walking or make it in the condo. Thanks for sharing your place.

Perfect location, beds were comfortable, lots of cookware and utensils, and check in process was easy. Mahalo

Reviewer Comments:
We had a great stay at this condo! Its extremely well-located if you want to stay in Kona, and walk around town. Beds were comfortable, and it was extremely spacious for our family of 4. It was also WELL stocked. The AC (hard to find in Hawaii!) took about 24 hours to fully cool the apartment, but the mini fans helped at night. Definietly an "older" home in terms of furniture, the general state of the building/unit, but everything in Kona is old, so it fit right in. The apartment felt clean, and very safe. Really, the only downside was that first night was kind of hot in the apartment.

Reviewer Comments:
We really enjoyed staying at this unit, it was so close to the pool and the lanai decks were amazing. Lots of room for the 4 of our family. Great location to the Ali'i main drive and restaurants, ocean and stores. We definitely enjoyed our stay.
4.8
Pros:
-We’ve stayed in Kona Plaza before— it’s a fantastic location with many rental options.
This particular unit was pretty good overall.
-The lanai and extra outdoor space was great. -The immense amount of beach equipment was fantastic.
-The bed and pillows were comfortable.
-It was, for the most part, well stocked with everything you’d need.
Cons:
-We were rationed 4 rolls of toilet paper for a 10 day stay. That’s simply not enough for a family. We didn’t want to go through the hassle of coordinating with the management company for them to give us more so we just bought some from the ABC store across Alii.
-The same can be said for trash bags— we were also rationed 4. Thankfully we had family staying in another unit who had enough to share a couple with us.
-Being right next to the parking garage means that you hear it opening and closing at night whenever someone enters and exits. Not great for light sleepers at all. Just something to be aware of.
-The only broom to be found was an outdoor broom. Not sure why a vacuum or at the very least an indoor broom is not a staple in this unit. A beach vacation means SAND. And that becomes such a nuisance.
-The washer and dryer need some TLC, both for cleanliness and safety reasons. The washer smelled absolutely awful. Musty, moldy gross. Front loaders need to air out. The door and detergent tray need to be left open after every cycle to dry out. This washer clearly does not get that treatment. It made the whole back of the unit smell musty as well as our clothes after being washed. It needs a major major clean out. The dryer took an unusually long time to dry. Two full dry cycles and our clothes still seemed barely dry. We made sure the lint trap was clean so I suspect there is some lint build up in the hose which is a major fire hazard. Or, the machine is just not heating properly.
-The check out info requested getting laundry going when checking out to help out the cleaning crew (towels, bedding, etc.). The problem with that is that there was zero detergent available to us. Thankfully, I had thought to pack a little bit just in case, so that’s what we used the full 10 days. But I definitely didn’t have enough by then end of 10 days to help out the cleaning crew.
-The thermostat is ANCIENT. We had to turn the knob to 50 in order to get it to hover around 78-80.
Overall, we’d consider staying here again, but the unit could use some love and better rationing of supplies!

This condo was perfect for our 5 day stay in Kona. Walking distance to Ali’i Drive shops and restaurants which is exactly what we wanted. Fully stocked and well organized kitchen. 2 lanais were great for morning coffee or outdoor dining. Plenty of linens including beach towels. Also had some beach gear and coolers out on the lanai which we used during various trips throughout the week. The pool was usually pretty empty during our stay. AC worked ok and was needed/appreciated as it did get quite hot. The only thing that would have made it better are larger beds but we knew what to what to expect when we booked. Overall it was a cute, comfortable, clean and convenient place to stay and a nice choice if you decide against a hotel or resort.

Nice facility, spacious, clean. Convenient location- quiet but easy access of all fun places. The communication with the management was very good and helpful. Good follow up on any issues. Courteous.
Overall, we had good time in KONA.

We were very pleased with the unit and location. Right in the middle of the action, we could take a short walk to the downtown area where all the shops and restaurants were located. Kitchen wise- I could have used a wok to cook fried rice and a steam basket but there was a good amount of cookware. There was a lot of space that could accommodate at least 8 people, however only 6 max is allowed. I loved sitting in the lanai to watch everyone swim in the pool. I was bummed there was no hot tub, but it was still an amazing spot. I would love to return next year.

The property was a good place to stay. The only issues were an issue with ants and while it technically sleeps 6, it really doesn’t do it comfortably.

We purchased unit 113 at Kona Plaza last year after 22 years of coming to Hawaii and always loving Kona Plaza for many reasons. It was an answer to prayer and after coming from Oregon for a few long visits to stay at the condo and pour our heart and energy into some projects that needed to be addressed., we decided to sell our beloved Ohana Blessing after only a few months. Upon making that decision, our family entered into some very difficult months with Sickness. Our lives and traveling had been very altered for 8 months. We knew we had made the right decision to sell , but because we do love the unit and Kona Plaza, We decided to book unit 113 from the new owners, for our grandaughters birthday trip in May for 1 week. Hoping things would be stable enough to make the trip . Lots of arrangements made, bumps in the road, we were able to come and had a wonderful time as always. The condo had a couple changes , but for the most part had remained the same. Like coming home. Every amenity was still excellent, equipped with everything you need . We will always think that 113 is one of the best units for anyone., but we love the easy entrance from from the parking deck, loading & unloading is simple. We had installed grab bars in both bathrooms for our disabled son, they are an asset to any of us getting older😊. The extra large patio with table, chairs, umbrella with the garden area is an added place for everyone to spread out. and beach gear storage we built, we feel is an asset for keeping the gear from baking-direct-sun and falling apart sooner. And the large inventory and assortment is being kept up. Everything about Kona Plaza, it’s location is prime. A view of the pool is excellent for families . Having an elevator is excellent . We are hoping to come back to unit 113 in the future. Thank you owners! Mahalo, , much Aloha & God bless🙏🏻🫶

I rented this condo for me and my son and his family – wife and two kids. It was the perfect spot for us. Ground level unit, next to the pool, lots of parking, and near everything we needed (grocery store, coffee house, Target) and wanted. A stone’s throw from Ali’i Drive with its shops and eateries. It’s a gorgeous, roomy unit. Huge patios! We had family over for dinner one night and we had plenty of space for everyone to cook, eat, mingle and relax. And the unit had every amenity a family needs – pullout sofa in the living room, two bathrooms, lots of towels, spacious kitchen (with all the utensils and basics you’ll need), cleaning supplies, washer and dryer and stuff for the beach. It felt like home. The property management folks were helpful and attentive. Every question received a prompt response. Our stove went out on us and they got someone to the unit quickly. When I lost the key to the unit on our last day (literally as we were leaving the unit), they were gracious and gave me time to find it, which I did. I returned it four days after leaving the unit and they were fine with it. My parents live in Kona and I’ll rent this unit every time I visit. If you’re looking for a comfortable, pretty and spacious unit managed by a great team of professionals, this one fits the bill. Enjoy!

This condo is in a great location. It’s downtown Kona, close to all the shopping and restaurants. The condo was extremely spacious and we loved the two outdoor patios. There is lots of seating indoors and outdoors. The kitchen and bathrooms are extremely well equipped. We appreciated the beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrellas, coolers. If you come with a family there is even a wagon and boogie boards and some beach toys for the kiddos. The AC was A little noisy but boy did we appreciate having AC, even in March. As all the buildings are in downtown Kona, this is an old Building and could use some updating. All in all, it was very comfortable and very convenient.

This place was awesome. You can't beat the location. It is at the heart of Kona with easy parking to explore other areas. The place was well stocked with kitchen tools and even extra sleeping pads. The AC was fair however with our closeness to everything we were not there much. When we were there it was quiet (even with the building work being done) and the geckos on the patio garden were plentiful. They had extra beach supplies though we didn't need them. My only issue was not feeling comfortable with questions I needed answered. The office was closed for our 4 day stay. I didn't feel comfortable calling the emergency number for questions like where do we dispose of our trash, and we don't seem to have a key for the upper level. Maybe it was closed but it would have been good to know because we planned on a bbq up top for my daughters 13th. That is petty stuff though. I highly recommend a stay there if you are looking. We stayed at #113 ground floor near the pool and parking if it makes a difference. Thanks for the stay!

the unit was clean and in good shape. the air conditioning was not effective and all rooms were very hot even with fans running. because the unit is on lower level and closed from all sides, air conditioner need to work.

We enjoyed staying in this condo. The location was excellent. Walking distance to downtown Kona (restaurants and shopping). The only downfall was the air conditioning didn’t work for two of our 4 night stay. It was Christmas but the property manager did not follow up with us regarding the issue.

This condo was great! It had everything we needed, including snorkel and beach gear, coolers, and beach towels.
It is a 2 minute walk to the Main Street, filled with shops, restaurants, or a walk along the ocean. A close drive to grocery stores, the harbor, and great snorkel beaches.
We really enjoyed our stay.

Reviewer Comments:
This place was fantastic! We've been to Kona many, many times, but this was our first stay at this property. The condo is great. Pros: Fully stocked. Extra towels, extra linens, full kitchen with all the gadgets (only complaint is terribly dull knives), nice little pool, washer and dryer (big plus for us light packers), great lanai and extra patio on the side, beach gear and things like boogie boards and snorkel gear were available to borrow, and it's an awesome location in town. Cons: The bedroom to the right (where we slept) is right next to the condo complex's underground parking garage. When you're in the condo you are constantly listening to the loud garage door opening and closing (it's the worst in the bedroom I mentioned). The owners provide noise machines/alarm clocks in each room to help with this issue and if you're in Hawaii and enjoying it properly, you're not going to be in the condo all that much anyway. It was annoying, but I want to be clear that we had NO TROUBLE falling asleep after all day playing in the sun. All in all I give this place 5 stars, 6 if I could, and I cannot wait to book again and stay here next year. It's our new favorite!
