There is also a teapot for a bit of afternoon self-care. Dishes for your beloved furry friends are also included as well as an ample supply of towels and blankets that are dog friendly for the pooch that likes to jump in the lake.
The 50” smart TV in the living room allows you access to our Netflix, Disney Plus and Hulu+ subscriptions, as well as local and sports channels – you can log into your own preferred viewing channels as well. Wireless internet is available throughout the home and deck. If you need to catch up on a bit of work or schooling, there is a desk with monitor, keyboard and mouse set up in the upstairs king bedroom. There are lots of games and books available for evenings or rainy days. Try your arm at some disc golf with our disc golf hole or challenge your companions to a game of cornhole.
In the morning, relax on the deck with a cup of coffee and watch for deer in the yard and the mist lift off the lake as the sun comes up. Enjoy some after dinner smores around the firepit while looking for constellations and shooting stars overhead.
The road and driveway are paved all the way to Camp Tugaloo. The driveway is on a bit of an incline. In the winter, if you are concerned about freezing ice, there is a parking spot at the top of the driveway. The parking area in front of the house will accommodate 4 cars, or 3 cars and a boat with trailer. You can also park your boat and trailer at the top of the driveway.
If fishing or swimming is your thing, you can head across Hwy 123 and access the lake for shore fun. The Stephens County Rec Area is about 0.5 miles from the house and has a free boat launch! There are also picnic tables, remnants of an old bridge and lots of opportunities for fishing & swimming. If you like to go chasing waterfalls, Camp Tugaloo is less than 10 minutes from the beautiful Toccoa Falls, about 20 minutes from Riley Moore Falls and Brasstown Falls, and less than 30 minutes from Tallulah Gorge and Panther Creek. For you history buffs, we are ½ mile from Traveler’s Rest and 20 minutes from Camp Currahee (of “Band of Brothers” fame). While you’re out, stop by Currahee Vineyard, about 10 miles from Camp, or one of the other 4 vineyards or 3 breweries within about 30 miles. Within a 45 minute drive, you’ll find other fun adventures such as boat rentals & lake fun, kayak/canoe rentals & launches, the adorable alpine town of Helen, tubing, hiking trails, ATV/mountain bike trails, horseback trail rides, whitewater rafting, disc golf, “real” golf, breweries, hunting, botanical gardens, Toccoa Speedway, Hartwell Wildlife Safari, apple & other fruit orchards/farms, ziplining & so much more!

My friend and I stayed at this property on the weekend of 6/14/2024 while in town for parents weekend at Camp Pine Cove. The pictures of the cabin were super cute but upon arrival we were disappointed to find that the yard was covered in 5’ tall weeds. The porch and porch furniture were filthy and covered in bird poo, bugs and cob webs-not just a few, covered. The porch was totally unusable. The outdoor picnic table was filthy as was the area around it. We were looking very forward to having our kids over to the cabin to cookout but without doing a major cleaning that wasn’t going to be possible. When we walked into the house we found open bags of chips and food in the cabinets, cigarette ashes, beds that had been slept in with very dirty sheets. The towels were mildewed. The sofa was badly stained, etc. I contacted the host about the yard explaining that the whole reason we rented this cabin was to use the outdoor space and enjoy the view of the lake, which by the way you can not see at all from the cabin. There is a very busy road in between the cabin and the lake and no lake access that we could find. The host told us she would have someone over to address the issues but no one came. We washed the sheets, made the beds and washed the towels ourselves because there really wasn’t another option. We were on this trip to see our kids who we hadn’t seen in months. We didn’t want to spend our time cleaning someone else’s house, esp when we were paying over $400/night.

We adored our stay here! The hosts have thought of everything, and it was fun to discover the many extras. The only thing we didn’t realize was that the road in front of the house is actually rather busy, so it wasn’t quite as remote as we had expected. But the view was beautiful, the home was beautifully decorated, spacious, and comfortable, there were plenty of nearby things to do, and our sweet little doggie could also accompany us. There was even a dog lead outside so we could hook her up for a while without waiting for her to use that bathroom. We enjoyed the fire pit, the karaoke machine, the foosball table, the many books and games, and more. We would definitely like to stay again.

The pictures do not do it Justice in any way. We had an absolutely wonderful time. Everything was very clean and we had everything we needed for cooking as well as entertainment. The children absolutely adored the upstairs game room. We all enjoyed sitting on the porch and looking at the water. There was some road noise but it wasn't anything too distracting. There are also several places to visit around the area. We felt it was perfect for visiting Helen as well as other falls, trails, and parks around the area. The little town is very pleasant. My mother was especially excited to be able to go into a Hallmark store. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and plan on making it one of our regular vacations.
