About this house rental

Take it easy at this tranquil getaway on a private lake in east Wichita. You’ll completely forget you are in the city with beautiful lake views from the dining room and master bedroom. The deck is situated under a century-old elm tree which provides shade all day long then treats you to stunning sunset views over the water.

Conveniently located less than a mile from the intersection of I-35, US 400, and K-96 - all destinations inside and around Wichita are only a few minutes drive.

Full remodel completed in 2023 including custom kitchen with quartz counters, custom bathroom with tile shower, and new carpet and furniture throughout the home. Both bedrooms are furnished with queen Purple Plus mattresses and Purple pillows. The kitchen is well equipped with a large selection of cooking items/utensils and a double oven for longer stays.

The private lake is home to a large variety of wildlife. As the seasons change, many species of ducks, wild turkeys, herons, bald eagles, turtles, beaver, and deer all call the lake home and make frequent appearances. The swans are the primary residents and patrol the lake during the majority of the year.

For those interested in wetting a line, fishing is allowed. The lake has bluegill, redear sunfish, largemouth bass, crappie, and perch. There are also catfish, but they don't come up to the dock very often. You are welcome to fish off the dock or along the shore in the yard. If you don’t have your own gear, some basic fishing tackle is available by request from the Property Manager.

The entire home, yard, and dock are accessible to guests, but the detached garage is currently unavailable.

This is our second visit and we will definitely be going again in the fall. The place is very comfortable, especially the bed, and has everything for a stress free stay. We were greeted two mornings by a pair of wild turkeys. We love reading on the deck and watching the birds and enjoying the garden of tulips and iris. You can't miss if you pick this for your home away from home.

House was very clean. New updates make it even nicer. Everything we needed for the weekend was available. Backyard and lake view was a great place for kids to play amd adults to relax after a long day of sporting tournaments. Would definitely rent again.

The rental was a lovely setting on the lake. We enjoyed watching the swans, turtles and listening to the many birds visiting the surrounding trees. The property manager was very prompt to respond to inquiries. The place was well stocked to rescue a traveler who has forgotten an essential item. It was very clean and comfortable. From the minute we checked in until the time we left, we enjoyed our stay. The view of the lake and deck to enjoy the setting were perfect. Everything was clean and inviting. The beds were great with soft sheets, comfortable mattress and tons of pillows. The kitchen had everything we needed including a table to view the lake while eating. There was a even a desk that was perfect for my husband's computer. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay. We loved the lake. We fished right off the dock and had a great time. We enjoyed the fire pit and sitting outside on the patio watching the water. The swans are beautiful. The location is perfect. There are numerous places to eat and shop within minutes.

Such a beautiful place inside and outside. The furniture and appliances are top notch. There was everything we needed to make all of our meals there. Our favorite part was hanging out outside. Fishing off of the dock was awesome and drinking our morning coffee watching the swans was very relaxing. We will definitely try to stay here again.

Swan Shores was perfect for our girls weekend. The house slept 3 of us comfortably and more than accommodated all 5 of us during our daytime activities. The scenery is beautiful and quiet. Anything we needed was a 5 minute drive away, but we didn't leave the house much, having so much fun on the water. We appreciated the firepit and all the firewood that was provided. Had a blast with "campfire movie night" by the lake! Beds are super comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to grill and enjoy dinners on the patio. Will definitely be visiting again soon!

Highly recommend this home. It was perfect in a very quite neiborhood. I really love waking up every morning and watching the swans swim in the lake. The evenings were also wonderful in the back yard looking at the lake. My only regrate is not bringing my paddle board to takeout on the lake. Will stay at Swan Shore when I am back in tge area.

My husband and I stayed in Wichita for a couple days. We thought we would try something different than the standard hotel. And boy are we glad with did with this property! The house on the lake is so special. You forget you are in the city! We had a wonderful time fishing and enjoyed the backyard to the lake. From the house you have wonderful views of the lake. The house is nice, updated and clean! We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back with our kids someday.

What a treat it was staying here! Kitchen is stocked with essentials and more! We appreciated the little snacks provided, too. Home was very clean abd comfortable. The beds are blue pillow mattresses and pillows which we have never tried before. The pillows are heavy, unlike any pillow we've ever seen, but they are comfortable. The mattresses are high, might be some effort for shorter or older folks getting in the bed. The mattresses pretty much hold you in place for the night. All in all, it was an experience! We did sleep well though. There's an ice maker in the fridge door which we also appreciated. The back yard is pretty and right on the private lake. There is a deck and gas grill out back, as well. Wewill definitely be coming back for another stay!

This charming house has been thoughtfully designed and decorated to make it both comfortable and attractive. I don't think the photos on the website do it justice. The furniture is of good quality and size, but does not crowd the rooms. I especially appreciated that the HDTV had a Samsung sound bar and a 4K Ultra HD player for the DVDs I brought with me. The property has lovely landscaping that includes masses of bearded iris that were in full bloom, as was the locust tree in the back yard. It was so serene to sit on the floating dock and watch the various waterfowl and wild birds (including several wild turkeys) putter around. My only complaint is the bathroom is a bit small for my toiletries and there was little counter space, but the owners did a great job of using the space they had efficiently. The tile in the shower as well as the kitchen was a lovely touch that helps make this house of higher quality than similar rental property. The same can be said for the beautiful glass half moon window in the front door, the art glass pendant lights over the dining table, the contemporary light fixture in the kitchen, and the exceptionally cushy floor mat in front of the kitchen sink (I want one!) For being in the country, the house is amazingly clean. Whenever I had questions, Kevin was immediately available and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

What a lovely and comfortable place! A sign welcomed us but the tasteful decor, furnishings, and backyard view invited us in to stay. The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed and then some. The property owner communicated via email and gave us a contact for immediate needs. This is truly a gem!
