Joy is more than just a guesthouse owner; she cared for us like family. I felt like I was at home. We had a medical emergency with my mom during our flight and had to go to the hospital. Joy came to the hospital to pick us up. I truly appreciated her kindness, and she even dropped us off at the airport. She cares for her customers like family members.

The location is great for the airport - literally 5 minutes' walk. The hostess Joyce is lovely - kind, welcoming and very helpful. The room was comfortable, with a porch; breakfast quite good.

La propriétaire est adorable, de très bon conseil, l'habitation est à quelques pas de l'aéroport, propre, bien équipée, calme, avec un bon petit déjeuner qui est un atout, de même que le joli jardin bien entretenu qui entoure la propriété. Les fils deJoy ont été adorables, ils nous ont donné de légumes du jardin étant donné que le marché était fermé à l'heure de notre arrivée.

I loved staying at Janessa’s Dwellery.
The room is located in a separate house.
Despite the proximity of the airport four minutes away, I was absolutely not disturbed by the noise because the area is very quiet. I felt safe. Joy is adorable and does everything to make you feel good. Very nice home. She came to pick me up from the airport.
The room is functional, the bed comfortable. There is a fan and everything is very clean: the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom… there is even a small terrace.
I want to come back to Vanuatu and I would love to come back to Janessa’s Dwellery.

Nice breakfast included and served on your terrace.
Place is really clean. Hosts go all the way to make your stay pleasant. For example, I got some homemade bread and fruit in the kitchen (as I was leaving early morning).

Janessa is very kind; lots of nice touches, one room had airconditioning and the other a good fan, nice porch, good kitchen facilities and shower; great spot if you have an early departure from the airport as within easy walking distance

The place was super clean, it really made me feel i was at my mom’s place. it’s THAT clean :). Her kitchen was good too, we could easily cook and save some money, she had some rice/bread and eggs provided. Breakfast is fantastic! this is probably the best place in town for the value

Let me start by saying - look no further and book this place for your visit to Port Vila. Joy is such a warm and welcoming host who goes above and beyond for her guests and her place has everything you need! I booked my first night here and immediately booked the rest of my stay here as it was so good. The location is super convenient and a mere 5 minutes walk to the airport (and Air Vanuatu head office just in case you needed to organise your flights or try your luck at the airport). You hear the airplanes now and then but honestly nothing too disturbing (I didn't even notice them!).
As I arrived after dark (and was traveling solo), Joy and her nephew came to pick me up at the airport which was super kind. Joy even took me on a complimentary drive-through Port Vila the next day to show me around! Don't be fooled by the location - it is literally less than 10 minutes to the town centre and you can easily catch a local bus for 150 vatu.
The house has 3 separate rooms (2 doubles and 1 single) and I stayed both in the double and the single room (they were equally great!). Each room has a large (private) outdoor balcony where you receive your delicious complimentary breakfast each morning. The house has its own kitchen with basic cooking supplies included, fridge etc in case you want to cater for yourself. The bathroom is shared with other guests but clean and spacious (and a warm shower!). It even has a washing machine and powder to do your laundry!
The entire house is for guests only and Joy's main house is just next to it, so she and her family are there to help out with anything you need.
I've already recommended this place to other travellers I've met along the way and it is by far better value than the more expensive resorts in town!!!

When our bags did not arrive on our flight ,Joy kindly took us into town to liaise with friends.She was helpful and very warm and made us feel very comfortable.It is very close to the Airport and was perfect for our early flight.

Joy est une femme extraordinaire et généreuse, qui a pris soin de notre petite famille.
Elle nous a récupéré à l'aéroport en fin de journée (aéroport à 2 min de chez Joy) et nous y a redéposé lors de notre départ, en se levant à 4h30 du matin pour que nous soyons tranquilles!!
Joy nous ammené en voiture en ville le soir, nous expliquant toutes les commodités pour notre autonomie. Le petit déjeuner était délicieux et vraiment attentionné.
Le lieu était agréable, avec de bons lits et tout le nécessaire pour être comblé.

The food is excellent. Plus there is coffee, tea and other food that is available in the kitchen, so I did not have any problems at al. On top of that, the landlord took us to visit places which I think is really cool and beautiful.

Best stay in Vanuatu after 10 days in different places around the country. very clean and with all the needs. you can cook by your self and the kitchen is fully furniture.

Great place to stay in Port Vila. You honestly couldn't get any closer to the airport (around 5 min walk), there are also a few shops nearby and a large supermarket around 1km away. This also has to be one of the best value for money places I've stayed at in Vanuatu. There's working WiFi, hot water, free coffee, and my room had A/C. Janessa is a great host as well who even made me breakfast despite having to leave at 5am and drove me to the airport as there was a massive downpour going on. After my first night here, I immediately booked it again for my second time in Port Vila. I definitely would have stayed here longer if I was in port vila longer.

The accommodation is very easy to approach and can move all over Port Vila very easily. The owner of Dwellery and her family is amazing and they let you feel at home. It was fabulous experience staying at Janessa's Dwellery. The place is not a luxury place but hospitality and support for all the things is exceptional. The staff guides very nicely to arrange tours on your own. Highly recommended place to stay. Last but not least the breakfast is also satisfying.
