About this villa rental

Hale Lani Villa has beautiful ocean and sunset views! Close to Cruz Bay town (10 minutes) and National Park beaches (15 minutes). Villa is located in a quiet neighborhood with private pool.

Hale Lani is all about open air Caribbean living and the spectacular ocean views! The Villa has a main living area with a living area, kitchen, and expansive patio. Our home has sliding doors that disappear into the walls so you can truly feel the Caribbean breezes. There is also a covered breezeway with additional seating/lounging off the main living area that leads to the refreshing pool.

Hale Lani is located in the beautiful neighborhood of Great Cruz Bay and is very quiet and easy to get to Cruz Bay town and grocery stores.

Hale Lani is everything it promises to be and more! Our family of five, including a set of grandparents and young adult, had more than enough room to spread out between the two master suites upstairs and the downstairs bedrooms. The covered lanai leading out to the pool that overlooks the beautiful waters of St. John was wonderful to wake up to and come home to after our daily trips exploring the incredible beaches. The property manager, Julie, was very responsive and communicative. We were sad to leave and can't wait to return!

The house is beautiful and well-appointed. The bedroom layout was perfect for our family and everyone enjoyed the panoramic views from the living room. Greatly appreciated the beach chairs and beach toys supplied by the hosts. David was quickly responsive to our requests.

The house is perfect. The view is about as good as it gets. Also, good location to run to the grocery store or to the north beaches. Neighborhood is quiet. The house has regular power and solar power with back up Tesla batteries that came in handy when the power went out. Our vacation was uninterrupted by power outages. The property managers are easy to communicate with. The house has 2 master suites on the top level each with private bathrooms and ice cold AC and indoor and outdoor showers. The bottom level has 2 bedrooms that share a bathroom with excellent AC as well. There is a community restroom on the top level. The pool is excellent. House is stocked with everything you can think of. Would highly recommend and would return again.

The pictures don’t even come close to how amazing of home this gem is in St John. Julie and Dave are great hosts. We’re typically beach goers but it was hard not to enjoy time at the house and the pool. This place is a winner! Best way to start my 40’s!

Beautiful views in a lovely location. Flight in was delayed to the island; property manager stayed in contact the whole time making checkin and getting to location easy. The house was clean, there was wildlife everywhere, and taking a moonlight shower outside was a the perfect way to end the night or prep for a night out. Thank you to everyone at Hale Lanai Villa. 💗

We've rented a few houses on St. John and this one has been our favorite so far. The house was super clean, beds comfortable, kitchen well-supplied, plenty of room for everyone, and divine sunset views. We will definitely be back.

Our family and friends enjoyed an amazing week (this past week) in this wonderful Chocolate Hole location. We're not new to St. John but this is the first time we've stay in this side of the island. We'll be back! The house was perfect for our family and friends. Opening all of the sliding doors provided an expansive outdoor living setting, that provided a ton of room for everyone. It may also, be one of the best views we've had in St. John. You could see some of the sunrise and a full sunset. The pool was great for cooling off. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The kitchen was a bit small but we brushed that aside given all of the other wonderful perks. Great beach chairs were available to use on our daily treks. Although we brought our own there was lots of snorkeling equipment and other outdoor gear. It's close to town and a 5 minute drive to the grocery store. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here! The hosts were readily available but since everything was provided we didn't need to contact them. Highly recommend!

Couldn’t have imagined a better spot to bring my children in from different parts of the country and have a celebratory week in such a superb location. Working with VRBO and Julie and Dave was very easy and they covered all the bases about the island, shopping and restaurants. But being in their house, cooking there, and enjoying the pool and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets provided the best of our stay. Thanks to all!

We Spent 10 glorious days in this “Heavenly Home” From the Rainbows in the morning and the stunning sunsets our family truly enjoyed every moment in Hale Lani. Views views views from all t rooms and the out door shower was extra special. We used the pool and BBQ and the kitchen was well equipped as we cooked in several nights! Perfectly located minutes from Cruz Bay and beaches and grocery needs. Overall outstanding experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

All I can say is, "Aaahhhh" to the gorgeous and expansive ocean views we delighted in every day at Hale Lani! The house is incredibly spacious, especially on the first floor. I savored morning coffee and relaxed family dinners out on the lanai. The beach chairs, cooler, beach towels, snorkel gear, and paddle boards were very much appreciated and used almost every day! My reasoning for 4 stars was the loss of water our fifth and final night. We were a party of only 5 adults so I was incredibly surprised and disappointed. I reached out to Dave the next morning when water did not return and he came to reset the pump, allowing us to shower, finish laundry, and tidy up. A water truck arriving at time of check-out impeded my children's ability to leave the property so they had to struggle down the steep driveway with their luggage. I was really upset I did not receive any communication from Dave or consideration given the issues with water and our late check-in. I would highly suggest contacting Dave to insure water supply is full as I would not want anyone else to experience that.

We were so sad to leave this vacation! The home is as beautiful as the pictures and the views were unbeatable. Everything was easy from communication, check in etc. We rented Jeeps from Aqua Blue and the house was a short 5 minute drive from town. We really enjoyed our time on in this beautiful home and lovely island and hope to be back! Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay here at Hale Lani and would definitely return for our next stay in St John. The property is even more beautiful than the pictures can represent. The communication from the owners was outstanding and every one of our expectations were exceeded with this stay. The house is very well equipped, extremely clean and comfortable, fully functional in every way and views to die for! We LOVED our stay here in this beautiful home on St John!!

We had such a wonderful stay! Dave (host) was amazing- very responsive, gave us great recommendations on private boat charters and private chefs- both were a huge hit. The views of the home can't be beat and the pictures don't do it justice. AC was running smoothly and beds were super comfy. No complaints from our group of 8! Would definitely return!

Our views from Hale Lani were incredible! Blue water for miles! Perfect backdrop for our girls trip. Stocked kitchen made meal prep easy. Snorkeling gear, beach chairs, towels and cooler for our use was a wonderful plus for our many beach days. Perfectly nestled not too far from town, which made for an easy drive to grocery stores and shopping. All in all an awesome trip, can’t wait to return!

The food tray from Sam & Jacks was perfect for our arrival after a long (delayed) day of traveling. Dave, Julie and everyone we met on St John- thank you for your hospitality!

This place is amazing! Lovely setup (the two large bedrooms are separate enough that one has a really sense of privacy) and outstanding views. It is also close to Cruz Bay. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to go back to St. John.

I can’t say enough good things about this property or David, the owner! The check in process was so smooth. David set us up with a taxi driver at the ferry and then met us at the house. He walked us through and answered any questions we had. There was a great house supply of liquor and pantry items that we added to with our leftover stash as well. The outdoor shower was incredible and used by all 5 members of our family even though our children had their own! The house is considered in Cruz Bay but is a good 15 min drive into the Cruz Bay marina/restaurants so taxis can get expensive if you have a large group since they charge per person. This is the best house we’ve ever stayed in/rented. Excellent experience. I’ve already passed the link onto numerous people after they saw our post on FB! You won’t regret booking this house!

Hale Leni is a gem! It's in a quiet neighborhood with an amazing view. Dave met us onsite to do a walk through and was very responsive to questions throughout our stay. We had an amazing time and would gladly stay again.

This house is stunning and we enjoyed a couple double rainbows. It has a number of places to relax, inside and outside, so everyone had their own space as well as a large gathering place. We also enjoyed the paddleboard that comes with the house. Lovely!

We were 4 adults and 4 kids (aged 5-10) who came for a week. Spacious accommodation, awesome amenities, pool were all a hit, let alone the local beaches and eating options!! We love Hale Lani!

Everything was absolutely great with only one minor exception, the water flow out of the downstairs shower head was almost non-existent. so some of us had to shower upstairs. The rest was absolutely great: the location, the view, the accommodations, the layout of Hale Lani, the pool.

The property is more beautiful than it looks in pictures. Dave was very helpful with every question and need. The property is very clean and the View is to die for. The house is very accomodating for 4 couples. We hope to visit again. I would highly recommend if you are visiting St. John to stay here :)

Loved Loved loved Hale Lani. this was our first time in St John, and having a beautiful place to stay that was well equipped was excellent. we sat every morning staring at the view drinking coffee, and did the same thing again for Happy Hour while at the pool. For future renters - the kitchen is nicely equipped with left over supplies that you may not need to bring - ketchup, mustard, pickles, lots of spices, pancake syrup, etc. The outdoor shower with the ocean view was not working - I would get that fixed because the other outdoor shower was fantastic and used by all. Advertised as having binoculars (not there but our contact Justin brought us his own, so nice...) and the assorted snorkel equipment needs to be updated because masks were missing, and flippers broken. Just rent wherever you go. But having beach chairs and coolers to use was so great - very convenient. Beds comfy and A/C kept us cool. loved watching the deer, frogs, iguanas and humming birds all day. thank you Dave and Julie and Justin for a memorable stay.

Location of the property to Cruz bay restaurants and then the beaches was key. Julie and David communication before and during stay was so helpful. Thank you Julie for the snack available upon check in. The cooler and the paddle board and the pool was great . My kids wanted a little bit better snorkeling gear so they rented a $25 set for 24 hours. I regretted not giving Julie enough time to put in the grocery list..so at a minimum put in a list for coffee grinds and breakfast food to be there for you for the next morning. Overall I was surprised that the infrastructure such as roads need a lot of work. You definitely sense that Irma 2017 and then pandemic has taken a toll on this island . Although the island is expensive, I felt good supporting an island that is an extension of the United States. I look forward to returning to this exact property for a full week. We just left St. John after an amazing trip. Hali Lani is a terrific place to stay. Justin was a great help meeting us at our car rental and getting us to the house. The location was perfect. Brilliant sunsets in the evening at the house and easy driving to beaches or restaurants. The house is totally as advertised. Fully stocked with everything you could need. The owners also left a tasty charcuterie platter in the fridge for us upon arrival. Highly recommend and will stay here again.
