We enjoyed our short stay a lot, and wouldn't think twice of coming back.

The room was very comfortable and the staff was always extremely nice and attentive. The convent itself is beautiful, and it's very close (by car) to Monsaraz and the Alqueva lake beach. There are many restaurants in the area, and we got great recommendations from the staff.

Breakfast was good but could have more variety.

Fint kloster-hotell

Fin historisk byggnad som har bevarat det historiska klostret på ett fint sätt. Lugn miljö och nära till sjön Alqueva som har fina stränder för bad. Nära till observatorie där man kan se galaxer, stjärnor och lära sig om rymden.

Inredning kunde vara lite bättre

Maravilhosa e espectacular, um sonho.........

Gostei muito da estadia, fui na companhia do meu marido, filhos, nora, genro e netos, todos adoraram a estadia, o convento em si, as obras de arte espalhadas pelo mesmo, a arquitectura em si, a sala de convívio, os quartos, o pequeno almoço, tudo maravilhoso, um espaço excepcional, muito bem concebido e acolhedor. O staff foi excelente, muito profissional, atenciosos, de trato educado, amável, transmitindo aos hóspedes uma segurança, conforto, uma sensação de nos sentirmos bem vindos, proporcionando uma vontade de voltar. Adoramos e vamos voltar, os meus netos, 3 crianças de 14, 11 e 6 anos, que adoraram e não sentiram falta da TV, pois desfrutaram imenso da mesa de snoker e matraquilhos, onde todos pudemos nos divertir em convívio familiar, pais filhos e netos. Muito bom mesmo, pessoalmente adorei os livros da biblioteca, bem como os que se encontravam espalhados pelas salas de convívios e quartos, permitindo momentos de leitura e relax. Nada mais a dizer, a não ser que a nossa estadia, foi de 5 estrelas, um local que foge ao tradicional dos hotéis e que por isso mesmo é maravilhoso. Obrigada a todos/as, os que contribuiram para tornar esta nossa escapinha, num sonho maravilhoso e excepcional. 😘🌹

Situé à proximité de la Forteresse le Monastère est magnifiquement réhabilité : séjour à la fois reposant et culturel grâce à une équipe d'une grande amabilité, souriante et toujours disposée à répondre aux demandes. Excellent petit déjeuner; choix et qualité des produits maison

Um hotel histórico e confortável

Excelente estadia; lindíssimo edifício, quartos muito acolhedores, bonitas e espaçosas casas de banho, bom pequeno-almoço buffet, pessoal espectacular e boa relação qualidade preço. Agradeço e recomendo

Podem melhorar a iluminação exterior e a qualidade do Wi-Fi; se acenderem a lareira ou colocarem uma salamandra (a trabalhar, claro) na sala de estar, ainda melhor!

Interesting stay

Interesting hotel in a good location with friendly helpful staff. Grounds need attention.

More an event venue than a hotel. Customers with accessibility issues would find it difficult to access rooms. Bedrooms are very small.

Original venue!

Location is great and the building has lots of character. It’s a great venue. Very original. We had tickets to go to the observatory at night and it’s only 5 minutes drive from the hotel. Monsaraz is beautiful and it’s only a short drive from the hotel.

The rooms are not soundproof, so light sleepers will be waken up by the noise on the corridor and the dogs barking at night.
