The location of this property is fantastic. You can easily get to the interstate for day trips to other towns. It’s located on a walking/bike trail and right across from a popular local restaurant called Pennyroyal. The rental was perfect for my husband and I but could see it working for a small family or a girls weekend since there are two bedrooms. The fridge is great- huge and kept all our groceries perfectly chilled. It has a large laundry room with a utility sink which was great for cleanup from our day spent at a local Beach. Bring your own laundry soap- there is none in the rental to use. Also be careful pulling out of the driveway- walkers and bikers cross the driveway but are hard to see because of the neighbors fence on the left side of driveway. There is a huge yard with a fire pit and chairs. Lovely place to stay and made a perfect weekend rental to relax and enjoy all Michigan has to offer.

Cute place that felt secluded enough for a quiet stay but close enough to town that it was perfect location. Loved the amenities of the home and the perfect space for our little getaway. Only minor complaints - the second house where the owner will stay is 50 feet away, the back bedroom door wouldn’t shut all the way, the floor boards had a noise that sounded like a dryer taking off into space but we weren’t sure what it was but if we come back to saugatuck i can definitely see us staying here again

This is a hidden Gem. Cozy, clean, peaceful and very comfortable. Kitchen well stocked with all necessary utensils. Owners thought of everything, even left a bundle of wood for the firepit. Really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. Would have rated a perfect 5 stars, although it could use better (brighter) lighting in the bathroom and/or bedroom (or ladies should bring a makeup mirror) Is a little further from downtown than expected (more than.5 mil).

My friend and I stayed here for a long weekend and the space was a great size for the two of us. Overall, the place was clean and had what we needed. The little things kept us from rating it a 5/5... the floors were a bit dusty, the bathroom door and one bedroom door would not shut all the way, no vent over the stove, one very wobbly bed frame, and no blankets for the couch or any extras for the bedrooms. We tried contacting the owner a couple days before arriving and didn't hear back until we had already checked in, but it wasn't a pressing issue and we did not need to reach them for any other problems during our stay. On the other hand, the kitchen was stocked with the basics, the fridge is massive, there were plenty of extra towels in the bathroom, and the shower water heats up quickly. The best part of this home was the location! Only a 3 minute drive from downtown Saugatuck which means tons of options for food, great hiking/walking trails nearby, and less than a 10 minute drive away from Lake Michigan. All in all, if you're looking for a quaint and simple home to stay in with a small group, this is your place! Thank you for a great stay!

Where to start. I guess you get what you pay for. This home has issues. The gas range has no vent causing the cabinet above to be caked in grease that the cleaning people are not cleaning. Also how can you have gas appliances without venting? Is that safe? Liability? Oh now we go to the venting of the gas appliance. The home is run on natural gas. The gas furnace (very loud ) share the same vent with the hot water heater. There is outside air being brought into the home through the swamp of a crawlspace. Why do I speak so much about the gas appliances? Because the whole house smelled like gas. Rotten eggs. So we called the fire department. They invested but said they smelled the smell. But they think it is a sewer smell. Oh great. The lighting in the bathroom was horrible. I guess it’s to keep you from seeing the ceiling is half painted. The beds were hard spring type beds. Just junk. Lastly, the power was out for hours the last night we were there. We begged and pleaded to leave and they said you can but no refund would be given. A week later a refund was given. It didn’t even matter at that point. There is a chipmunk living under the porch and it made noises outside my window all night. Sorry. I said lastly. But then I remembered that half the lights in the hose would dim real low then get bright all on their own. Glad it was Halloween time of year. If you have read this far. Congrats. Now I’ll say the good, price was low, water was hot and the icemaker works.

Really enjoyed the short walk from the Ivy House. Right across the street. My only slightly complaint is completely personal preference. Pillows were too soft for me. Outside that everything was fantastic.
