Arrived late in evening for a quick stop before picking up daughter from college in Chicago. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very quiet and bed was comfortable. A bit dated appearance but overall a great hotel and would use again.

Generally a reasonably good hotel. I was here for conference. A few strange areas. At check in, they tried to take a deposit of $750 instead of $200 until I spotted it. I still haven't received an emailed invoice. I see they have charged me £3.18 for no apparent reason as I didn't take any water in room and paid all bills as I went! One side of my room lost power one day (but fixed pretty quickly), door handle kept coming loose, but room OK. Asked for a late checkout, which was granted, but rescinded on the day. Also had to have an airport shuttle 2 hours eariler than liked. The restaurant menu is rather limited and not particualry vegetarian friendly. Now the staffing issue. They have a bar/restaurant. The bar staff do an excellent job, they are friendly, efficient and work really hard. I don't understand why you have two bar staff Monday-Wednesday and then Thurs-Sat (when the conference is on and things are really busy) you reduce the bar staff to a single person! It was generally taking 20 minutes to get served! We asked whether a member of staff was sick on those nights and was told that it was a management decision to only have one member of staff - Stupid management! People were going across the road to Dennys to eat and drink because it was quicker! You would have easily paid for the second member of bar staff with the increased sales.

We were here for a few days of sightseeing as we’d never been to Chicago. Hotel was fine. It met our needs and we don’t have any complaints. If you’re expecting 5 star accommodations, you won’t get that here, but otherwise, clean, comfortable rooms at a reasonable price.

Checking in was pretty simple. Lady was freiendly for the most part. Once I got to the room it was very antiquated! Smelled horrible and there appeared to be a large blood stain on the floor. Fridge didn’t work. Chair and foot rest were stained as well. Luckily there was a meijers down the street and I bought a of febreeze. The lady at the front desk was polite about it and offered me a breakfast coupon and a different room. I refused to be that person that plays Karen and bounces from room to room and just dealt with it. However I don’t think I would ever recommend this hotel to anyone. There are several other hotels in the area.

Property advertises a free airport shuttle however refused to provide it. Can not be pre-booked only available upon request. When requested they claimed it was "full" then the shuttle (a van) drove away with one person in it however this shuttle clearly could fit several people. Had to pay $30 for a taxi.

Decent spot but not worth the rating its given. Ceilings in my room and bathroom were coming apart. So traveled solo and have a shaved head and found multiple very long hairs in my sheets.

Unkind staff. All staffs are not kind. And I cannot understand why this hotel rate is so high. Really terrable hotel. I believe that lots of stewardess gave a good rate. I suggest all users felt bad since it is not general level of double tree. My wife told me it's not 4 star level hotel, but it looks like 2 star level hotel.

I will not use Expedia or Hilton Doubletree again. The Expedia website said the hotel provides airport shuttle but the hotel didn’t provide it for me on either arrival or departure. The reception told me they run the shuttle only twice a day. Besides their main telephone was out of order so I kept waiting for their shuttle for an hour before paying for a cab. I spent more money on cabs than per day room rate.
