We had 3 of our adult children and their families stay her for my stepmom (bonus mom)'s funeral just before Thanksgiving. We were there 4 days/nights. While we were there things were good, staff helpful. Problem happened after we left for Colorado and Texas. 8 hours after we left and got home we discovered a glass dish and antique tea pot and bowl had been left in our room. We contacted them as soon as we discovered we didn't have it. They told us they would check with housekeeping in the morning and send us an email or call. Nothing, called them again, told us the same thing. These are items that don't mean anything to anyone but they do mean something to me. So today was the 3rd day, I called and spoke with the manager who told us the same thing as before! We know that housekeeping found the items. (I had spoke with housekeeping a couple of times during our stay, seemed very nice!) I told her I know they did, that is if you all clean the rooms before the next visitors! She said yes of course! Told her I am calling in the morning, again, better hear a different story or I will be calling it a theft and will call the police. I just want my items, that's all. So disappointed I can't get a straight answer. This is the place we have stayed at for years, since they opened, when we would come see family. Hopefully this will get taken care of, if not, we will never ever stay here again!

Changes needed: 1. Fix your second elevator. It has been broken for over a year now. 2. Post a sign at the elevator, 1st floor instructing patrons on quiet hotel etiquette when entering upper floors where tired travelers might be sleeping. No loud hallway conversations. No door slamming. No running, screaming children. 3. Don't hide your mini fridge behind a wooden door. You are overheating the compressor and it won't cool effectively and will eventually burnout prematurely. 4. There were unruly groups of teenagers there when I visited and they were knocking on my door to all meet for breakfast in the morning when I was trying to sleep in. If their chaperone has been doing their job, they could have just agreed to meet downstairs at a specific time without disturbing the other travelers and communicated amongst themselves using cell phones instead of pounding on doors and yelling to each other in the hallway. 5. Why do you have all kinds of extra "charges and fees" on the bill that other hotels don't have???

I know it's the current thing, but my next hotel won't have such tall beds. Being older now, I find them quite difficult to get into and to then relax.

The updates on the hotel are nice, and our room was comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing, silver dollar sized thinly sliced fried ham, French toast sticks, scrambled eggs were the hot items, which were warm-ish.

Conveniently located to many attractions in the Topeka area so the easy access was a real plus! Benefit was that it was just slightly north of the I-70 interchange so in a quieter area than the hotels south of the interchange. Friendly staff at front desk. Breakfast generally included eggs, meat, oatmeal etc. (wish there had been make your own waffles too only because I really like freshly made waffles). Room had been recently renovated (the bathroom was a bit small though). Shower spacious. Mattress very comfortable. Would recommend this place.
