My husband and son used this for a hunting weekend. They said that the cabin was out dated and unlevel. Linens and towels were not included but could be rented.

Had never seen bed bugs until this stay in cabin with bunk bed and futon. Wife ended up sleeping on the futon and woke up to her hand and arm swollen and bit about 10-12 times. Found a reddish brown bug crawling in bedding. Google image says it’s a bed bug and it was very large. We had to spend a lot of time and money getting our belongings washed properly and threw away some blankets and pillows. The fireplaces are broken, the sink leaks, the shower had no hot water, the porch had no bulb and was not fixed. The doors and windows are broken or screwed shut with no screens. Mini fridge was very warm and threw out milk and some food. Dust, filth, vomit on door, heater stinks so bad we couldn’t run it, mice. Wife spent most of our stay cleaning and disinfecting. We stayed three days in a smaller cabin and upgraded to an 8 person cabin for a long term stay.

We've stayed here multiple times this year. It's a nice change from the average hotel room. However, it's pretty dated and run-down. The rooms could use some updating and deep cleaning. For my most recent stay, the room had clearly not been vacuumed. The deck outside the room is nice but our gas firepit was broken.

One of the sinks in the room was dirty and there was grass and crumbs in the bed. I did like the trails around the property. They were shady and easy to navigate.

I have told you several times of the issues I had at Basswood. I still haven't had a person respond to me. Quick summary: smelly cabin, stained mattress cover, unusable community toilet. Please get with the program and have a person get in touch with me.

The amenities were nice for a family hang out. There is a lot to do with the kids. The jacuzzi room was pretty run down and I would not stay here again.

I did not stay. Walked into a tiny room with bunk beds , dirty sinks and uncleaned room. Not a place to stay at all. I wasted 71$ . Asked if there was any other options. There were none because housekeeping was gone for the day. I would of never paid for nor rented a room like this. Ruened my date night for sure

We really like the place. We stayed in the deluxe cabin. It has AC, heat, fireplace. It was cleans very affordable. Only draw backs- pool was closed at 9:00 pm. The front desk person was crabby, but we all have bad days from time to time. I suggest to go there. We are planning a trip to return.

My family and I booked a cabin for 8, and absolutely loved the place. The cabin was nice, clean, nice small kitchen with different assorted cooking items, and had plenty of hot water to clean dishes and bathe. Bathroom was clean, rooms were clean. The ponds were nice and stocked, caught some good fish. Swimming pool was nice, clean, cold, and the laundry facilities were clean and nice. My family and I enjoyed it and will be back.

We didn’t realize we had to check in by 7 pm and got a call at 6:30 asking if we were going to arrive. Luckily we were able to get there at 6:50. Then when filling out paperwork, we reminded them we had dogs and were informed that was not allowed in the room we picked. When we said we read the fine print on this site that it was dog friendly, the manager said it was ok but the employee said several snarky comments. The room needed some work, and my throat hurt when we left the next day. There was a dehumidifier in the room and my husband thought there was mold in the room. The property was beautiful but it was not the wonderful room experience we had hoped for.

Really just a one night nest. Wish we had more time. Booked as first "Pet Friendly" accomodation I found. Unbelievable good price for excellent accomodations. Nestled on a back road about 6 miles from both Smithville and Platt City

We stayed in a jacuzzi suite. The room was older but clean. The jacuzzi jets didn’t work great. We were there for an anniversary getaway and really loved relaxing by the gas fire pit overlooking the lake. We will return if in the area again.
