Lovely villa, very spacious, well located, kitchen is well equipped but outdated units, which didn't worry us as we expected the Villa to be a traditional one, which it was. Very quaint generally, the only down side was the very small dishwasher, which would be detrimental if you had big family meals in the Villa. We ate out mostly and it was fine for breakfast bits. Overall we had a great relaxing time here.

Loved staying at Villa Hibiscus, this is the fifth villa we've stayed at in Carvoiero and is our favourite due to the more traditional style and layout coupled with the fantastic garden. The location is very quiet and within easy walking distance of beaches and the town. Aleix, Claudio and Ilda couldn't have been more helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our week at the house. We look forward to visiting again soon!

Beautiful villa in.lovely grounds within walking distance of Carvieiro. Alex the owner answered all my questions promptly and Claudio met us at the property and checked us in very efficiently. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

We tenter the property three years ago for my wife’s 65 th birthday
Due to covid we had to cancel and the following year again due to my daughter’s pregnancy
So we arrived at last with a 12 month granddaughter
The property is in a lovely area of Carvoiero
And the gardens surrounding the villa have some ponds and two hammocks when the sun gets too much
The villa is rustic and not very suitable for an infant just starting to walk with a lot of steps leading to the pool and the terrace
The villa would be ideal for adults with a lovely pool and patios
We had two issues
The gas stove and hob we could not get working on our first night
Unfortunately the manager was 60 miles away-it was a Saturday night so this was not fixed till Monday
Also the patio door in the living room would not lock so we had to close the steel shutters every night before going out
They were extremely stiff and one of the hinges was broken making it very difficult to lock
There was plenty of cutlery and dinner service
And plenty of wardrobe and luggage space in all rooms
In all a very nice holiday but suitable more for adults and older children

The property is delightful and perfect for our needs. Plenty of outdoor space to sunbath, eat and drink. The kitchen was fully equipped, and all bedrooms and bathrooms well maintained.
Fantastic to sit on the roof terrace and have a late-night port looking out to sea.
The walk into town was fine where there are plenty of bars and restaurants.
The team were so helpful.

Casa Hibiscus is an exceptional property in a beautiful corner of the world. Surrounded by flowers, palms, eucalyptus, olives, cacti, the charming Portuguese home is a ten-minute walk from an ideal beach. We loved the barbecue, pool, and ocean view too!

A fantastic villa and a wonderful stay
We had an amazing time at the Casa Hibiscus. Alex's communication beforehand was amazing, and meeting Claudio for check in was easy and a great way to learn about the villa. The villa itself is perfect - great for kids with perfect facilities for cooking, cleaning and relaxing. The pool was immaculate, and the lady who came in to clean was lovely and put up with us around her! Can't thank you enough for a wonderful stay.

We were very impressed with the level of mask wearing in Portugal, but be prepared for lack of clarity on what the airlines accept for COVID tests - we went to the airport a day prior to departure and that worked well.
Out stay in Carvoeiro was great. Wonderful people, great food, beautiful beaches and we were lucky to have great weather.
Overall the Villa was good and we enjoyed our stay. Some things to know: hot water is limited because it is thermal, so take your showers later in the day; be prepared to buy all the basics (sugar, condiments, coffee, etc..); there is one not two king size beds; and walking distance to town is 30-40 min, not 15.

Fijne vakantiewoning
Grote vakantiewoning, alles wat nodig is voor een prettig verblijf is aanwezig. Perfect schoon. Het zwembad is TOP. Carvoeiero is een leuke, kleinschalige plaats met goede restaurantjes. De kust is prachtig, mooie wandelingen gemaakt. Kortom: heerlijke vakantie! Wij komen zeker terug.

A propriedade corresponde ao anunciado. Não está em bom estado de conservação O exaustor não funciona e o fogão apenas tinha um bico funcionante. As roupas da cama e atoalhados apresentavam-se demasiados "gastos". Os espaços interior e exterior são amplos e agradáveis. Piscina excelente.

La casa es exactamente igual que en las fotos, muy amplia y a solo 2 minutos de la playa y a 10 minutos del centro de Carvoeiro.
La comunicación con Aleix ha sido estupenda desde el principio y hasta al final. Totalmente recomendable!

Sehr geräumige Villa mit wunderschönen Pool. Restaurants in 5 Minuten zu erreichen , Ortsmitte und Strand 10-15 Minuten ( zu Fuß). Kontakt sehr sehr nett und freundlich .
Schade , dass die Dachterrasse nicht ausgebaut ist , denn von dort hat man einen schönen Meerblick .
Das fehlt für 5 Sterne plus .

Toller Urlaub, tolle Lage
Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub in diesem charmanten Haus. Die Lage ist toll, der Garten bezaubernd. Sauberkeit, Kommunikation etc. alles wunderbar. Das Haus braucht allerdings in nächster Zeit mal eine Renovierung. Küche, Fenster, Decken. Alles etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Sind etwas moderner Look wäre toll. Auch die Dachterrasse könnte schöner gestaltet werden, der Ausblick ist so wunderbar. Aber wie gesagt, das hat unseren tollen Urlaub nicht beeinträchtigt! Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit!

Familienurlaub
Villa mit schönem Garten und Pool in Gehdistanz von schönen Stränden und Restaurants. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt, aber es ist so Einiges am und im Haus in die Jahre gekommen was ersetzt oder aussortiert werden müsste. Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis in der Hochsaison grenzwertig. Online Bilder entsprechen dem aktuellen Zustand. Leider hatten wir Einiges an Lärmbelästigungen zu erdulden, wegen einer in der Nähe gelegenen Baustelle und Unterhaltsarbeiten auf dem Nachbargrundstück.

Etwas in die Jahre gekommenes Haus, aber gut gelegen
Das Haus bietet viel Platz und war daher für uns vier Erwachsene ideal, auch wenn das dritte Schlafzimmer leider arg übertrieben auf Kinder abgestimmt ist. Vom Haus aus kann man in wenigen Minuten zu Fuss einen sehr schönen Strand und die Ortsmitte erreichen. Der Swimmingpool ist prima und gross genug, um ein paar Züge zu schwimmen. Geschirr, Töpfe, Pfannen etc gibt es reichlich. Durch die nette Haushaltshilfe wurden die Handtücher gewechselt und es gab auch Badetücher für die Liegen und sogar Bademäntel.
Die Ausstattung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Glaskanne der Kaffeemaschine hatte einen Sprung und die Thermoskanne war nicht zu gebrauchen. Das Bein einer der Terrassenstühle wurde mit einer Schelle notdürftig geflickt und sollte eher nicht mehr genutzt werden. Bei den Auflagen der Sonnenliegen quillt der Schaumstoff aus den Nähten, der Sonnenschirm altersschwach und nur eingeschränkt zu benutzen. Die Fliesen an den Wänden fast alle überstrichen, wobei die Farbe blättert.
Auf dem Nachbargrundstück hält man wohl drei gerade nachts und morgens gern kläffenden Hunde. Sonst ist die Umgebung aber ruhig und von der nahen Hauptverkehrsstrasse hört man wenig.

Peaceful villa
Family holiday at the beginning of September with 6 adults and a 7 month old baby. Villa is located on a quiet road and is well placed for restaurants and the beach as well as the centre of Carvoeiro. Car needed to visit large supermarkets, where prices are lower and more than the basics are stocked. The villa was very clean and the pool a good size. The exterior of the property is well looked after, with 3 different areas to sit in. Beautiful gardens, and the gardener visited 3 times in our week. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Lots of toys and a spongy playmat for small children. Lovely cot and highchair too. There were a couple of issues with the walk in shower and the patio doors but the property manager dealt with them immediately. Improvements could be made internally - we struggled with the gas oven so only used the hob and the BBQ, the mattresses are too soft and sink in the middle. More mugs would be useful, but the dishwasher is a small one so we were having to use after every meal. The water is heated by solar power, so there didn't appear to be hot water when we got up in the mornings. But there was plenty of hot water when showering before dinner. The furnishings/decor, dark wood mainly, added to the character and were certainly comfortable enough in the evenings. We didn't find the villa gloomy as some reviews suggested. Would definitely recommend to others, and would return in the future if the beds are replaced.

Lovely Villa in great location
We had a great trip at this Villa. It's not a modern villa internally - the owners have filled it with antique furniture but we loved the charm of it. There were lots of little areas to enjoy- bbq area, 3 ponds and hammock as well as the pool area. It would have been good to have a few instruction manuals dotted around but we managed. The Villa is a 15 min walk to centre of Carvoeiro and only short 5min walk to Vale do Covo. There are a few repairs needed that hopefully will be sorted for next season- eg. new pads for the sun loungers. Definitely recommend this villa.

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Casa Hibiscus. As others have stated it is in a lovely quiet location around a 15 minute stroll away from the main town, so perfect for evening meals-walk down to dinner and a €4 taxi journey back up the hill. The gardens and pool area are well tended and a pleasure to be in. The cleaner keeps the house immaculately and although it is unusual to have a cleaner visit during the rental it was great as she had the place spick and span all the time. There is very good Wi-fi and a modern tv so you can log onto your Netflix/Amazon accounts which is great to keep the kids amused and out of the sun sometimes.There are however some areas of the house that do need updating. The furniture is showing lots of signs of wear and one patio chair is held together by a spring clip. The mattresses are very thin and old so you feel every spring and there are several comments on this in the visitors book as well. If like us you hoped to cook in sometimes this is a challenge unless you use the BBQ, as the gas oven is very basic. You have to manually light it which was quite scary when you are used to electronic ignition and there is no temperature gauge, so very hard to tell what temperature the gas is at...?The bathrooms are also very dated - only one modern shower which we all had to share rather than stand in a bath with a hand held shower.So in summary a lovely house that needs a little more tlc to be a fantastic house...

Lovely Holiday
Location fantastic, pool terrific, WiFi good, telly with Netflix, etc. much used in evenings by family, air conditioning great, if being picky kitchen could have electric kettle and upgrade but given local restaurants was not a big deal. Great family holiday more than happy to recommend.

We have had a great holiday staying at this villa.
The outside space is amazing, the gardens really well maintained. The ponds are a haven for wildlife and our 4 year old loved seeing the frogs.
The pool is really nice. For our 4 year old with water wings it was fine and he never wanted to leave.
Bbq was great, in a lovely area of the property with all necessary tools available.
The location is secluded and tranquil with the loudest noise in the morning the sound of the frogs and you are still only 5 minutes walk to the algar seco, restaurants and shops and 20 minutes to the middle of Carvoeiro via the seafront boardwalk with entertainement and lots of restaurants.
You are also a short drive from large supermarkets and all the amusements on offer in the Algarve.
The inside of the villa is nice. It is an old house which has been updated over time.
The style you can see from the pictures is very traditional and some of the furniture and furnishings are starting to show their age, though everything works.
The rooms are all large with high ceilings and there is a great feeling of space even though furniture itself is all large.
The TV is modern and there is a nice music player in the lounge.
Beds were massive as were the rooms and were comfortable and there is lots of storage space.
The childs room really captured our sons imagination and he loved it.
The bathrooms were all functional with the master ensuite showing the most signs of recent updating.
Washing machine facilities, bin bags, washing liquid and toilet rolls all provided which was a nice bonus.
Cleaning lady was great and helped keep the place spotless. She was very thoughtful and helped our little boy feel at home when we arrived as she showed him where lots of toys were kept.
The kitchen is probably the area requiring upgrading sooner rather than later Everything works and there was every possible utensil, though an electric kettle seems a sensible addition.
Claudio was great introducing us to the villa and how all facilities worked and was on hand with a fast answer to any questions.
Dealing with the owner Aleix was simple and all questions were answered promptly and accurately.
Overall we loved our stay and would happily comeback.

Perfect chill out zone
This was our first time at Portugal and we found the perfect location with Casa Hibiscus.
What we liked most:
- the housekeeping and its' amenities were a big help
- the garden is wonderful and shelters the whole property
- calm enviroment
- the pool and the terrace were fantastic
- the house is spacious and well equipped, kind of old-fashioned but cozy and authentic
- many nice places arround the house to stay, e.g. the barbecue in the back or the patio by the kitchen
- the roof deck has a nice view to the sea
- 3 beaches, many restaurants and a bit of "night life" in walk distance
- good starting point for trips to Lagos, Silves, Monchique and the western coast if you have a car

Fantastic, spacious villa in a beautiful setting
We had a fabulous stay in Carvoeiro at this well-located and spacious villa. It was in a beautiful setting, lots of gardens and greenery, in a quiet neighbourhood easily walkable to beaches and restaurants. The villa was exactly what we were looking for, great decor with all the amenities. Lots of outdoor leisure space, two pretty ponds and the new steps in the pool made for easy accessibility for kids and adults. Would definitely stay here again!

sehr schöne, gepflegte landestypische Vila
Das Ferienhaus ist typisch portugiesisch eingerichtet, 2 sehr große Doppelzimmer und ein kleineres DZ als Kinderzimmer, jeweils mit einem Badezimmer. Alles war sauber und gepflegt, reichlich Handtücher - auch für den Strand - vorhanden. Sehr freundliches Personal.
Die Haushälterin war 2x pro Woche da und alles hat reibungslos geklappt. Besonders gut hat uns die Lage des Hauses, zwischen dem Ort Carvoiro und dem Centianes-Strand gefallen, da beides fußläufig schnell zu erreichen ist.

Amazing holidays in Carvoeiro
We booked the villa with 4 adults and one 3 years old kid. The welcoming was warm and nice. As we had a birthday on the arrival date we asked for a small arrangement upon arrival which was prepared thoughtfully and with love! Thank you very much!
The kids room made our daughter feel like home directly.
The location is quite good. The city as well as the beaches are in walking distance even with the small kid. A bit disturbing are the dog barks at night and early morning but we got used to it after 2 nights.
The shops in the town offer everything you would need. However we recommend to visit the Apolonia Supermarket for a great wine and spirit as well as superb grill meat and fresh fish selections.
The property is well equipped. Very nice selection of glasses and chinaware. Although the pans should be renewed soon.
The lady who took care of the cleaning did a great job. Just communication was a bit tough as she didnt speak any english. Also there was no cleaning for 3 days (friday, saturday, sunday). For us would fit more a cleaning every second day, not mon-thursday. The dishwasher didnt had salt and was not replenished even after telling, so we didnt use it. Also we had to take care about the small amenities like toiletpapers, salt&pepper, kitchen roll, olive oil etc. which we didnt expect.
All in all still a 5 star property which we would book again any time!

Lovely Villa in Perfect Location
My family and I had a lovely relaxing stay at Villa Hibiscus. The villa was extremely roomy and one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in, obviously due to the housekeeper Ilda who had the place spotless and was on hand to clean or do your washing whenever you required! A small issue we had was quickly resolved by Alex the owner with a box of chocolates sent by way of an apology which was very nice. The villa is in a excellent location with only a 5 minute walk to the start of all the shops and restaurants which continue all the way down to the main town centre, taking around 25 mins at a leisurely stroll. There are plenty of ATM's etc which is handy and also a Santander bank. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is because unfortunately the swimming pool does not have a shallow end so my son being only 10 could not stand in the water which meant no ball games etc which he normally likes to play with us. I could only just stand as the water reached my chin and I am 5'6"! The ladder leading out of the pool could do with having a few more rungs as it is very short! However, we loved the villa and would definitely go back once my son has grown a little. We also loved watching the frogs in the pond located near beginning of the driveway, a nice unusual feature. Ilda and her daughter Monica were very friendly and helpful and were easily contactable if required. The weather was extremely hot during our stay so it was fabulous to have proper air conditioning in the bedroom rather than ceiling fans, it made a huge difference to a good night's sleep. I would definitely recommend this villa but be aware if you have young children the pool might not be ideal for them if they wish to play games rather than just swim.

Wow what a fabulous place! It so much exceeded our already high expectations. Lovely pool and a beautiful garden - what a find. Communication with the owner was easy and helpful. The villa itself was spotless and a lovely lady came in everyday to clean and tidy. The villa was within a 10 min easy walk of the town and restaurants. There is a beach in town but a 5 - 10 min car journey takes you to some fabulous beaches with stunning views. A boat trip along the coast to see the caves is a must. We would recommend this villa without hesitation and hope to return again.

Traditional holiday gem
The listing description of this property is understated, it is a truly traditional villa set amongst beautiful mature gardens. What enjoyment we had daily frog counting at each of the secluded ponds.
Villa Hibiscus is completely private, set in a peaceful location but within walking distance to beaches, restaurants and shops.
From the meet and greet to the attentiveness of the owner providing useful information throughout, recommending places of interest and great Portuguese restaurant, the service was excellent.
We would recommend Villa hibiscus without hesitation.

Fantastic Villa
We had the pleasure of staying in Villa Hibiscus for a week and it was all we expected from the easy booking - thanks Aleix - through to a villa which was all we had been promised and hoped for! . We were suprised to return back each day to find the villa which had been spotlessly cleaned by a lovely lady.
Villa Hibsicus is in a quiet location but within walking distance to shops , restaurants and the coastal path in to Carvoeiro.
Highly recommended.
