Clean place with nice stuff near Cotopaxi

Great location near the highway but close to park entrance and with a spectacular view from the dining room. Warm and comfortable bedrooms. Very helpful owner - organised mountain biking for our whole family for a very reasonable price which was amazing, even though the weather wasn’t that great.
nothing

The friendliness of the staff, specially Diana.

Nice tours to Cotopaxi from here and could even leave things here to do Quilotoa!

So many highlights, first the place is beautiful, the beds super comfortable, the food is excellent. The view of the vulcano is magnificent. at the afternoon the bonfire is lit.... beautiful moment to chill and relax, having some coffee or hot chocolate.
The amability of Fernando, his father Francisco and his family.
I did the tour to cotopaxi vulcano with them, Freddy was our guide, he was great also.
Absolutely recommended

Comfortable and perfectly located for trips to Cotopaxi or north (Quito) / south (Latacunga). Rooms are nicely decorated and there’s plenty of green outdoor space with lovely farm animals. Staff is also very helpful in organizing trips to Cotopaxi or transport to anywhere else you want to go.
Hot water availability and pressure could be better. It comes and goes every 10-15 seconds. We found it better in even more secluded places like Chugchilan or Mindo.

Beautiful place. Love it
I like everything

We had the best stay here! Fernando and team were lovely hosts, extremely helpful and kind. He organised transport for us to visit the national park in the afternoon, we had Don Francisco who was lovely and explained lots to us about the park. We loved our cosy room and hot shower. Great free breakfast and delicious dinner in the evening!
Nothing!

Our family had a fabulous stay at Rondador! Everyone was very friendly! The building has great architecture with fireplaces, wood beams and features, and an upstairs deck facing Cotopaxi. The meals were wonderful, beautifully presented, and a good price. Fernando remembered our names, chopped carrots for our kids to feed the alpacas, and coordinated a great morning tour for our family in Cotopaxi park with Francisco. Both of the servers we interacted with were super friendly, Katerine gave us helpful walking directions and Jeni let our kids introduce themselves in basic Spanish :) The animals were a real gem for our kids!! The pets and working animals are friendly and very well taken care of. So glad we found this stay.

The people were fantastic. The main host was there late at night and serving breakfast too. He was very welcoming and wonderful.

The host is exceptionally careing. comfortable beds, pleasant rooms, yummi kitchen and the Cotopaxi round the corner. Hassle free visit of the Cotopaxi. We were guided up to the first refugee hut together with our kids.
Kids loved the animals that lived at the backyard.
nothing - our stay went beyond expectations

Incredibly welcoming staff. The food was amazing. The rooms were cozy, clean, and comfortable. The wonderful animals. We were able to easily set up excursions to Cotopaxi. Just all around a great place.
4.8
Cosy atmosphere im common area with fire place, traditional music, good food
The tour to the Cotopaxi costs 50 US $ if you are alone and 30 - 40 US$ if you are 2 people. I heard from other travellers that cheaper options are available at other villages. I felt ripped of because of missing alternatives.
The road is next to the house and noisy until 10 pm and from 6.00 am onwards.

Good room (size+bed+couch+big and lil lights+electricity point next to bed), super friendly staff (help arrange tours), grand restaurant even though a bit busy, but they make everything fresh, so are also easy with allergies/vegetarian
There is not much in the area for restaurants or shops, but this makes up in the way of being in loads of peacefulness and nature (staff can recommend the good trails)
I sadly didnt get to see the Cotopaxi mountain with the clouds, but staff helped me on a great tour
4.8
the food, the people, the animals, proximity to Cotopaxi
shower size to dress/undress but not a big deal

Fernando, the owner, is extremely nice and helpful. He keeps his hotel, together with family members, very clean and cosy. When we arrived, the fire place was giving a warm atmosphere. In the restaurant, you will enjoy a perfect view towards Cotopaxi. Also the food is very nice! There is private parking for your car
The hotel is only a short distance from the entrance of the Cotopaxi National Park.
If you like animals: there is a number of ducks on the premises as well as a lama family (Fernando gave me the opportunity to feed them).
All together a very pleasant stay that I can recommend without any restrictions!
Thank you Fernando for your hospitality!!
No possibility to charge cell phones due to lack of plugs in the room. But we used the plug in the restaurant instead. No problem.

The location is perfect; very close to Cotopaxi with awesome views. Rooms are nice and cozy; we needed a family room (bunk bed and queen) and a double room (queen) for our family of 6.
Staff here is amazing and very accommodating. My wife was not feeling well the night we arrived and Fransisco, the father in law, took me to a pharmacy in the nearby town to get her medicine. He also offered transfer service from bus stop location (Entrance Cotopaxi national park) to hotel and gave us an amazing tour the following day 9am-2pm: transportation up, horseback riding in highlands near Cotopaxi, hike up to the Refugee (16k feet), bike down Cotopaxi to Limpiopunga lake, return for lunch included for $80/pp.
The son in law, Fernando, helped me get my phone simcard and data working again and checked us in and out. Both speak good English.
Restaurant as part of the hotel has great food, good options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Reasonably priced $5-8 per entree. Breakfast included as part of room price was excellent with choice of Continental, Pancakes, Waffles, or Granola. Each one comes with fruit, juice, and hot chocolate (or coffee/tea).
They allowed us to store our luggage in secure area after checkout while we went on tour. After lunch, they took us back to bus stop and we caught first bus driving by back to Quito.
Nothing, everything met or exceeded our expectations. Be careful - the altitude sickness is no joke. Several in our party, four of six, became sick due to elevation and were not able to go on the tour.

We loved the Llamas, the cozy breakfast room, the other travelers, the views, the food is amazing. Fernando is so kind and happy to help with any kind of question, tours, guides, etc. The best part was playing music from the Andes with Fernando on our last night with his authentic instruments!

Best view to Cotopaxi from the restaurant, awesome and supportive staff, beautiful location with cosy guests rooms, great food!!!
4.8
The food (breakfast and as well dinner) is amazing, vegan options available. :-)
Also the owner of the hotel is very very friendly. For us it was the perfect place to stay in the near of Cotopaxi NP and we really recommend.

Wonderful family-run hostel with friendly, helpful staff, excellent food and a relaxing atmosphere. Our airport transfer, tour of Cotopaxi, and drive to Saquisili were all great value and well-organized and I enjoyed sitting in their backyard with their animals and watching the volcano in the distance. Muchas Gracias!
Nothing:)

We stayed at Rondador for four nights over Christmas and loved everything about it - friendly staff, comfortable rooms, warm showers, great breakfast included. We ate breakfast lunch and dinner there every day and all the food was incredible, brilliant portions and very tasty. On a clear day you can see Cotopaxi from the dining room. The garden has alpacas, geese and dogs. It was very easy to book all tours we wanted with Fernando the owner (Cotopaxi, Quilotoa, other hikes, thermal hot springs). You are right on the edge of the park so it is only a short drive to get into the national park. We 100% recommend Rondador and would go back.

Toilet paper in the shared bathroom ran out quickly

All the excellent reviews were accurate. Fernando picked us up where the bus from Quito dropped us. He then asked what activities we wanted to do, then arranged them for us.
Dinner and breakfast at his place were both delicious. The room was nice and clean. The pet animals (including llamas) were an added bonus. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you Fernando!
Nothing.

Perfect location, right in front of Cotopaxi National Park. You can book volcano tour here with good price.
Cozy, warm, clean room with a little electric heater. Beautiful living room and restaurant. Good breakfast with many choices, and you can enjoy incredible view of Cotopaxi while dinning(unfortunately we arrived at a cloudy day).
Beautiful garden with 3 adorable Llama. The owner Fernando will provide you carrots to feed them.
