Beautiful surroundings, Palais has been well upkept. Spacious bedroom.
Unfortunately difficult to get into town by taxi so obviously better if you have a car.

Cadre enchanteur. Personnel à l'écoute, aux petits soins et ambassadeur de Claudio Bravo. Parenthèse détente, apaisante et culturelle... Belle découverte... À conseiller...

Guests cannot be expected to sit in their bedroom all day. We booked this hotel, so that we can go out of our bedroom and enjoy the gardens, grounds and lounges in the hotel — something that we thought we are entitled to do as guests of the hotel, having paid them €123. The staff clearly had problems with us going to those areas. In the first evening, after we went to the pond and menara, we were politely brought back to the room, and were told in broken English that “by the way you need to have a paid guide”. Because it was dark anyway, we had dinner and did not go to the garden again.
On the following morning, before breakfast we enquired about the cost of the guide and what it entails, we were told that it costs 100 dirham and that it would take 2 hours. We declined. We did not want to spend 2 hours there with a guide, and we were not particularly interested to learn every detail about that artist. So, we decided that after breakfast we would simply walk through the gardens, grounds and lounges ourselves. However, as soon as we started walking, every single staff member took the opportunity to tell us that we need to have a guide — effectively we were told to pay to walk within the hotel lounges or grounds. But we already paid this hotel €123.
Eventually the receptionist allowed us to walk through several lounges, but it was made very clear that we are being afforded exceptional treatment. Frankly I fail to understand what is exceptional in allowing guests to walk within the hotel grounds and lounges. Other customers have made negative comments that “staff are oppressive, too much hanging around us”. Indeed, I formed same impression. We felt that we were pestered by the staff members — we were constantly in fear that staff members would approach and demand something. If you want to charge for guests walking to all parts of the hotel, then charge €130 instead of €123 per night, and then just leave those guests alone. Pestering guests destroys the whole stay.
Another disappointing experience was when I came to pay. Firstly, I had to stand there and wait while the receptionist took an inordinately long time to produce an invoice — he claims he had to amend my invoice to remove the cost of the paid guide. Given that I had never even requested a guide, why was there such a charge on my invoice in the first place?
Secondly, when I was eventually given a printed invoice after a long wait, it turned out that the receptionist demanded more money than had been agreed in a reservation. After I made a reservation, the hotel sent me a confirmation that I would need to bring €2.60 as tourist tax. Both the amount (2.60) and the currency (euro) were clearly specified. Therefore, I prepared that exact amount even before coming to Morocco. However, the receptionist revealed to me that I would need to pay 42% more than had been agreed, and in dirham (as opposed to euro). I objected to that: if the hotel wants to charge in dirham and a different (greater) amount, they should have informed me as a customer. The receptionist dismissed my attempt to demonstrate that it is unethical behaviour — he said that it is not my place to stand here and teach him a lesson and show him documents from the hotel on booking.com website, which (as he flippantly observed) he “had seen a thousand times”. This behaviour clearly demonstrates that this hotel fails to appreciate that it must honour its own agreement which it sends to clients. The hotel must learn that it is improper conduct to agree one amount and in one currency, and then demand a greater amount and in a different currency.
Breakfast: there were two of us, however, they gave us only one small pot of tea. When I requested a second pot of tea, they refused to provide it unless I pay 30 dirham on top of the already high cost of the reservation (€123 for one night).
Dinner: we were given a menu only in French. They do not have a menu in English, which made it difficult for us to order.

At least the rooms are clean and the hot water works. The adjacent park is also very pretty and worth a walk through it.
In our view the hotel is massively overrated on both Tripadvisor and Booking.com. We travel quite a bit and we have very rarely had bad experiences following the ratings on these two portals, provided there were more than 50 reviews. The hotel is not exactly a disaster, but it is very mediocre. Given the remote location and the price, we had hoped for much more. The entire ambience is trimmed to appear "noble", but remains loveless and sterile. The palazzo probably lives primarily from the glamor (and reputation) of bygone times. The staff is pretty much useless and rather incompetent. The lady at the reception speaks little French and English and one wonders how she got this job in the first place. The tensions between the staff are striking - the bellboys argue loudly among themselves. The atmosphere is tense. During the night we both came down with diarrhea which we attribute to the dinner.

beautifully located and full of charme of the founder.
…….. it clearly was not an hotel
in its original thinking. they were lacking hair dryer in all the rooms (but than they arranged it). important issue for western travellers: they do not serve alcohol (you can bring your one). it is not on a religious basis (you find alcohol in any hotel in Morocco and restaurants), but because they do not hold a licence. this is a limit and should be avertised clearly. in the end we managed to buy it elsewhere. Reatairant was great and we enjoined the food (with super good red Moroccan wine coming from another hotel).

Incredible opportunity to enjoy the kind hospitality of Mr Bashir, Moreno and their companions in what is a remarkable setting. The Palace contains an eclectic art collection and is itself an art piece. Not to be missed
The rooms we stayed in didn't have a whole load of light, which is a pity as light is the very reason Claudio Bravo built his home here. Having seen the larger suites, I'd definitely recommend upgrading

It is absolutely fabulous location and place. I cant express how much i am recommending to use an opportunity to stay there if you happen to pass by. It is worth making particular planning to stay there whilst travelling around the country.
And make sure you reserve at least couple hours of your time to spend around the palace and gardens itself as well as paintings and museum of Claudio Bravo. We are most thankful for two gentlemen ( i am very sorry of having lost their good names...) who have been looking after us during our short stay. Also recommending dinner to be pre booked.
Nothing really.

Stunning Palais designed by artist Claudio Bravo to showcase his collection of world artifacts and to entertain his friends. Today It is run as a museum and boutique hotel, by the family to whom Bravo bequeathed his estate. if you appreciate great design, beautiful pieces and want peace and tranquility with great service and simple but wholesome food, you will not be disappointed.
You would need a car to get here as it is a few miles outside Taroudant but parking is no problem.

Palais Claudio Bravo is one of the most beautiful, peaceful and luxurious places in all Morocco. It’s an art-filled wonder with six large courtyards, half a dozen large suites with separate shower and jacuzzi, 22 bedrooms in all, and soaring ceilings in many rooms. There is a duplicate of the famous Menara in Marrakech adjacent to a vast reservoir of water overlooking the High Atlas Mountains in the distance. You approach the palace on a long palm-lined road, with green lawns, roses, numerous cactus, gardens, a tower near the entrance and horses set on 185 acres (75 hectares of grounds). The Chilean-born artist Claudio Bravo, an acquaintance of mine in Tangier, painted in his huge studio and entertained kings, presidents and other royalty in an immense indoor dining room with fireplace and rare Turkish glassware on one wall.
More electrical outlets in some rooms and thorough cleaning of some outdoor furniture. Some maintenance is necessary. The staff could be more attentive and a greater variety on the limited menu.

I was very much carried away with the humble story of Claudio Bravo and the legacy he left behind within the walls of his palais located on the 750,000 square metres ground. Consistently on display was a personification of human excellence, which triggered emotional response I haven’t felt for a long time.
There is not-much not to like about the property. If I had to reach for something to critique, I’d probably suggest they include an omelette for breakfast, otherwise all was splendid.

This is a stunning property and it is like staying in someone’s palatial house. The management was exceedingly helpful, kind, and available. I am a Vegan and every accommodation was made for me. The tour of the Palais is essential. The rooms are beautiful, spacious with the artist works represented in each room.

The setting of this place is gorgeous. The Palais is located in an amazing garden and it contains an interesting museum. There are lots of cosy places to sit. We were alone in the hotel and were upgraded to the presidential suite, which was amazing.
Our overall impression was 'faded glory'. We noticed several signs of neglect : lighting in the bathroom not working - jacuzzi not working - terribly bad shower. Maybe this was due to the fact that the hotel was closed for a while and that we were the on of the first visitors. Another tip : never eat the paella they serve here and rather book dinner in Riad Dar Zitoune or even better in Dar al Houssoun. The quality of the breakfast was below expectations (seen the price we paid for the room)

The Palais is a magnificent and special property unlike staying anyplace else. Luxury and comfort abound. Staff members Mustapha and Marino are shining gems. Their tour of the property for us and then upon our return trip for our daughters let us share in their reverence for Claudio and his legacy.

Everything at Palais Claudio Bravo was perfect. The staff were attentive and they spoke English well. Thank you all for your kindness and hospitality.
I should have stayed more than one night. I was extremely impressed with this place and I am now determined to return every year for longer stays.

Beautiful facility and wonderful staff!!! Everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming and were more than happy to show us around the grounds. Big kudos to Najoua and Moreno!!! I can't wait to come back and bring clients on future Kantara Tours trips.
Nothing. This place blew away all expectations.
