Superb
I was a solo traveler and chose this location for its proximity to the VideoTron. Aux Annees Folles was the perfect choice for me! I was met at arrival on the front porch with juice, fresh fruit, and cookies. The breakfasts were delicious— French toast, homemade jam, fresh fruit. The proprietor was so very helpful at recommending restaurants in the area and places to visit in town. He was especially accommodating making me a breakfast to go when I needed to catch a train early and giving me Band-Aids and a lunch to go when I camped overnight to be right in front of my favorite band. Do remember to bring cash as he doesn’t take credit. He made me feel at home and I highly recommend this B&B.

Just what we wanted!
We were looking for a very reasonably priced place to stay with our dog Ginger and Aux Années Folles was perfect for us! Jean greeted us upon arrival with nice plate of assorted cookies/light snacks. He made suggestions about what to see and provided map/brochures. There was free parking on the street. Ginger could stay in the room while we went out to dinner. Easy single bus ride to downtown. Shower had nice hot water and good pressure. Breakfast was wonderful. Jean kindly accommodated our eating preferences. Fresh local fruit, crepes one day, eggs and bacon the next. He even turned on the TV in the side room so we could watch the Canadian Open tennis once he learned we were fans. If we ever make it back to Quebec City, we'd stay again!
There is no air conditioning if that is your preference. We enjoyed the fresh air from the window and used the fan in the room. It got sufficiently cool at night. Oushki, Jean's husky was calm and friendly with our dog, though does visit you upstairs so if you have dog treats or human treats, be certain to close the door to your room :)

Great location, friendly and welcoming host, unique 1920s theme. Wonderful experience.
Mr Daoust is incredibly hospitable. He was kind to meet us for a late check-in with a yummy snack, juice, and welcoming conversation. The entire 1920 theme was seen all around the house, which was very charming. Perfect location to all the attractions (~10-20min away from downtown, Montmorency falls, etc). Breakfast was delicious (french toast and fruit one day, sunnyside eggs and bacon the next) and thoughtful, special care from Mr Daoust was taken for my gluten allergy.
A few minor things could have been cleaned a bit better (shared bathroom counter, dust on side tables, under the bed), but this did not detract from the atmosphere or enjoyment of the stay.

Roaring 20s concept is cool but not a proper business yet
Very pretty decor (especially upstairs) that are in the 20s theme. It is a quiet neighbourhood and the house is dog friendly! Crepes and french toast were excellent - some of the best I have had. Owner speaks sufficient English to be informative and has some pamphlets to share of nearby attractions.
This is a B&B in someone's home - not a hotel. It is important to be aware that there is not a separate section for the guests and only one bathroom so depending on your preference and needs, this may not suit you. The owner sleeps at the front entrance to the house and the doors did not open easily creating a lot of noise which can make coming and going problematic. I did my best to sneak in and out but I really felt horrible doing it, especially because I had the dog to navigate as well. One of the beds in the twin room was comfortable but the other was dreadful. Unfortunately, there was hair on the good bed's pillow and it smelt like someone else had been there recently. I wasn't very comfortable the two nights I stayed there. The owner is nice enough but rouses to anger fairly quickly. He was exceptionally rude to me when I had to come back to the house to pick up my laptop that I had forgotten. There was some confusion over payment method (I thought it went through Booking.com but he only accepts cash/etransfer) - not the first time that this has happened on my travels so hardly worth being upset about but I suspect this triggered him. Regardless, I came back and kindly retrieved the device only t have him take a photo(s) of me and my car on his iPad. Strange. I didn't enjoy my stay and don't recommend.

Very cool Art deco house..a step back in time right down to the hair dryer! The host was passionate about his house and collections. The lamps alone are worth the price of admission and if you love toast you are going to the right place. His toaster collection is museum worthy and useable. Loved that we ate off his deco dishes! A few Art deco pieces were even for sale...a place to sleep, eat and shop. (Breakfast was excellent) What more can you ask for!! The host embraces well behaved dogs with open arms.
Loved the Art Deco Experience!!

friendly staff, but need to bring the rest of the facility up to make it worth its cost
the staff was very friendly. Jean has the will to help making our stay pleasant. The retro aspect of the place gave the place a special touch.
the bed was not comfortable at all. the food was not up to the expectation. By the taste of it, the yogurt and the juice were expired. there is a big friendly dog living with the owner in this place (which I didn't know about). I traveled with my kid who is scared of dogs. I ended up staying by the washroom door each time my kid uses the washroom.

Exceptional
Jean, the owner is an amazing person. He is very interesting, helpful and kind. When I arrived, I was late for the museum and he drove me immediately. Breakfast is very yummy. I highly recommend this place.
