Tanti locali nelle vicinanze. Soprattutto un bar/pasticceria eccezionale: donut pub. Assolutamente un must. Aperto h/24

The heat in our room was so high that we couldn't sleep because of the stifling heat. Despite the receptionist coming up to help me with the very old radiator, we had to sleep with the window open to try to lower the temperature, with little success. We practically didn't sleep a wink all night.

Porta quebrada. Ficamos na suíte 306.

We've stayed in a variety of hotels in New York, and this was easily one of our favourites and one we'll return to. Fantastic location, comfortable bed, great sized room, and very quiet and peaceful. Also, loved the theming and decor! Perfect stay for us, and we'll be returning next time we're in town.
There's nothing I'd raise here -- the hotel was excellent and exceeded our expectations. We have stayed in a variety of places around the city over many years and this is currently our favourite and where we'll book next time we return.

Chelsea pines is in a great location, right next to the subway station 14th Street and about a 5 minute walk from Chelsea Market and the High Line. The beds were comfortable, the shower and bathroom were nice. The accommodation seemed clean and tidy. We arrived Christmas Day, as a family of 3, myself, my wife and 6 year old son.
The decor was very dark and dated and didn't really look like the photos online. In our room, there was a wardrobe which had a fridge, ironing board and safe in, so wasn't much space at all for the 3 of us to put our clothes and shoes and we did travel very light - there were so drawers at all. There were no coat hooks even on the door to hang your coats so everything was kind of dumped in our bags on the floor which wasn't ideal. The room was quite big but space and furniture was not utilised well.
Only 1 plug socket worked in the room, and 1 in the bathroom, the others were basically hanging out the wall/broken and live which we spoke to the hotel about - staff were nice, came to have a look, apologised. We were just careful and managed with the 2 sockets to charge our phones/i pads etc without them falling in the sink! The bedside light didn't work (probably due to the electrics - so at night we had to get out of bed to turn the light off. Our room faced the road, although the hotel itself was quiet, the road was noisy at night with sirens, people walking past which can't be helped in a city, but my wife did buy earplugs. The black out blind on the window fell off half way through the night on the first 2 nights. It woke me up and then was very bright from the streetlights outside and then dawn...they put it back up after the first night, however when it fell down for the second night running we came back to it being gone altogether so then it was very light in the mornings.
Breakfast was included but it was in a shared kitchen kind of set up, literally with kitchen cupboards and toasters and kettles, felt like we were in someone else's kitchen - had the basics, bread, butter, jam, cereal. We ate there once but then after that went out to breakfast.
We were busy exploring each day, so didn't spend a great deal of time here other than to sleep. It wasn't particularly cosy but it served a purpose.

Good location, with 30 second walk to subway. Rooms are tight (although normal by NYC standards).
The room could have made better use of wall space for shelves to store bags. There was really very little space to pratically unpack. A kettle would have been very useful.

It's NYC! Rooms were tight but that was to be expected. The no elevator thing was not an issue for us because we were traveling light for an overnight stay !

The location was Good
The employees displayed rudeness, particularly the manager.
The reservation indicated that breakfast was included, but a day prior to your arrival, they sent a private message stating that it was a complimentary breakfast. This meant that at 8:00, they boiled six eggs, and those who arrived first would be served.

Comfy bed, great room (Deluxe Suite so more spacious than others we've had during previous stays here), delicious morning coffee, location.
Bed was on "super castors" that made it move around like a race car!!
Air con unit in window is a Heath Robinson installation which allows too much street noise intrusion.

Friendly, helpful staff. Great location for lower West Side attractions. Good price for city accommodations. Enjoyed the movie-themed decor throughout.
We had a fifth floor walk-up, a bit hard going for 70-year-olds. Recommended off-site parking was several blocks away.

the property is much better maintained than when we stayed there about 4 years ago
with very little effort the outside back patio area could be wonderful - busted pots, untrimmed shrubs, unkept ivy currently around patio area

The location and the staff were quite nice.
After our stay with my wife, we really wondered how the place got this kind of a high score. I am not saying that it is terrible, but it is far from being very good. The shower was in almost in the room with some (unsuccessfully blurring) glass door. One of the beds was constantly creaking when you move and the mattress of the other (IKEA one) bed needed an adjustment so that we won't end up on the ground. So, these beds are not the best solutions to rest when you come back at night. By the way, you should watch for the TV when you get up at night if you don't wanna hurt your head.
The breakfast is really "Continental", it is the most basic one I have seen so far. But it
may be enough for some who don't mind sharing a common jam jar and plastic plates.
