It was fine, but I would not necessarily return to the property.

It has a beautiful view of the ocean.

The rooms are dated and bed was uncomfortable.

We were very comfortable right from the beginning.

They have kept the charm of the older building. Great eating outside on the big porch, going in the salt water pool, good music playing, and good artwork. Air conditioning good, and enjoyed having coffee available in the hallway.

A trip to take you back in time

Beautiful restored inn with gorgeous views. The staff was absolutely amazing!

Didn’t realize we’d need a car! Car rentals were so expensive even for two days that we decided to take a Lyft from Boston not realizing it was close to impossible to get a taxi, LYFT or Uber to get around. We walked from the Inn to Rockport to eat and explore and had to walk back as well. over 4 miles round trip so LOTS of steps but hard on the old back. The Inn offers breakfast but no other meals at this time so you’re kind of stuck. I can’t blame the property for the lack of transportation

Cozy, classy, attentive, quaint, not to far from some really good restaurants, beaches, attractions!

Breakfast was a real nice treat. Its in the hotel and its cooked to order with wait staff. You can enjoy it inside or on the porch over looking the ocean/pool. Inside is extremely clean. Staff is extremely friendly and very attentive. A bit refreshing to see such good customer service!!!! :) Matty

Some rooms are a bit small but it is New England afterall (No wheres near a deal breaker). Beds are really nice as are the pillows. Room was super clean down to every detail!!!

Beautiful Seaside Escape

It is a quiet relaxing hotel with mostly older clients but that also made it very private. The pool was small due to the area the hotel was in but lovely. I slept better here than I do at home. The area is so beautiful.

There is no elevator on the property, so travel light. Bathroom door would stick. It is expensive and they offer free breakfast if you book direct, since I didn't know the area, I didn't do that. I also got confused when I first checked it and went to the door by The Emerson Inn sign. That is not the entrance and walked into the only room with an outdoor entrance in the whole hotel.

Pleasant staff. It was a nice place just too expensive for the services provided.

Friendly staff, quiet-clean room.

The chefs had quit. Do the hotel didn’t have a full restaurant and the breakfast was cold-cold eggs, cold potatoes, cold overcooked bacon, cold french toast, and cold coffee. Also the keypad on the outside door was broken. I had to ring yo get into the building. There isn’t an elevator so climbing the stairs is tough. The view through the window had the ledge.

Perfect for a Family Vacation

The property having such long history is a plus. It’s also at the center of Cape Ann, everything was easily accessible - went to a different beach every day which were all within 6 -15 minutes from Emerson Inn. The beaches were gorgeous - very child friendly. Rockport town is nearby and very vibrant. All the other towns encompassing Cape Ann are short drive away. Tons of restaurants around. Although the food served during dinner at the inn are not to be missed - well curated and simply delicious. Kimberly, the Owner, and her staff were GREAT! They provided such exceptional service.

Bad

Parking was good, the bar tender opened a new bottle of scotch for me and was very friendly.

No elevator, no phone in room, no restaurant, pool was not available, no mention of ice machine or if it was available, we had to carry our own luggage to the third floor (35 steps) we are senior citizens, owner was rude because we booked through orbitz, staff told us they didn’t know if restaurants were open or stores on Mondays. Would not recommend Emerson Inn to anyone nor would we stay there again.

Beautiful view, but pretentious Inn. Expensive, but not really worth the cost.

Breakfast wasn't very good, food quality lacking. Person serving coffee was not very attentive to people. Had to hunt her down numerous times for refills.

There's a difference between "historic" and run down. Rooms need fixing, broken items, bathroom doors that dont close....

Nice location and Vintage hotel poor customer service

King Luxury Suite no longer King Luxury Suite that is shown on booking.com. Additionally weather was cold and 2 of 3 nights heat didn't work in the wing of hotel stayed in. Despite these issues management didnt apologize or offer discount or anything to make up for paying for King Suite and not having heat 2 nights.

It was fabulous and relaxing. We can't wait to visit again in the near future.

The atmosphere was excellent. In spite of being short staffed everyone was very pleasant and accommodating and made us feel comfortable.
