Überraschen gut zu einem guten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Auf einer Geschäftsreise im Mai haben wir die Unterkunft für eine Nacht genutzt. Das Zimmer war und trotz der Lage zur Hauptstraße recht ruhig. Besonders positiv war das abendliche Büffet das im Preis enthalten war, man musste also nicht mehr extra ein Restaurant suchen. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und umfangreich.

Die Parksituation ist nicht so ganz einfach, insbesondere wenn man spät anreist und die hoteleigenen Parkplätze (gegen Gebühr) belegt sind. Wir wollten im nahegelegenen Parkhaus das Auto abstellen, hatten aber Probleme mit der App für die Bezahlung und mussten dann im Umfeld des Hotels einen Parkplatz suchen. Störend haben wir zudem die lauten Türen zu den Zimmern empfunden. Fällt die Tür der Nachbarzimmer ins Schloss dann ist das störend laut und gefühlt wackeln die Trockenbauwände.

Nice comfy small city hotel in a downtown area

Near the train station and also near downtown and the ship lock/hydropower plant park area. I asked for a quiet room and got one, and it was comfy. It was under the roof and it was a hot summer day, but it had air conditioning which quickly dealt with it. The breakfast/diner room was also comfy. In spite of the limited food selection, I found good food for myself. As a non-Scandinavian I found the shower with opaque glass wall towards the outside weird from a privacy viewpoint, but showering in natural light is also nice. The bed was a bit too soft for me but the second pillow helped, I had very good sleep. The staff was nice.

It would be nice if evening meal time would be extended past 21:00 or if there was an option to have the evening meal boxed in case of a late arrival. My original travel plan was to travel from near Bergen to Trollhättan by train (with a change in Oslo), I would have arrived at 21:20 at the hotel. I asked about this via Booking.com message but was just told that the evening meal ends 21:00 sharp. So just because of that, I had to re-book the Oslo-Trollhättan leg of my trip to an earlier express bus, which I almost missed because a delay of the Bergen train cut into the already short transfer time in Oslo. There was a rich selection of alcoholic drinks for the evening meal, but for those who don't drink any, there is only iced water. Fruit juices could be made available for the evening meal, not just breakfast.

Door locks didn't worked properly. We arrived as advised very late at night and we couldn't enter into the room. Fortunately the staff was prompt and offered us another room, in fact an upgrade. But also in this case the door lock worked only with one of the keycard. Strange...

Amazing hotel with free breakfast and evening meal. The evening meal was just like a dinner. And in between also the coffee and cake hours. And the friendly and ever smiling staff is the best.

You need to request cleaning of your room for the next day by putting up a sign. Nobody told me that, but never mind. I am a clean person, but that piece of information could have been more clear. Else 100 % ok.

It was only 300m from the station with frequent trains to Gothenburg Central.

Upon arrival I was told they had no room for me despite my having a confirmed booking. A problem with their computer meant somebody had booked after me and so my room was no longer available and I couldn't stay there. I pointed out if someone booked after me then they got bumped, I wanted the room I had booked and had confirmed. It took a short argument but I got my room eventually. Dirty towels on the bathroom floor though so cleaned or not ?

Overall, very good stay, and a nice city to walk around!

Breakfast was good, included dinner saved some money on restaurants. Reception staff was very kind and helpful.

A bit of an issue with parking (limited space and paid), but found a free parking on the street. Possibility to improve the service in the dining room - sometimes dishes were missing, coffee not always available.

Budget hotel

Good location. Breakfast good and enough to choose from. Dinner a bit poor but enough. Anyway this is a budget hotel. The room was a bit narrow and tight space in the bathroom. Good parking space inside the courtyard.

Room inside is a bit small for two persons, tight the space.
