Sweet as a nut.

The fact that there was a bath in the room sills it to me and the girlfriend lives animals. X

More info about breakfast and live music that is kindly laid on.

A clean well equipped family friendly hotel in a great location

We stay here often because we love the location ( near the Tram,to the Beach, lots of shops and restaurants/bars) and the ‘art deco’ feel of the Hotel. The staff are always helpful and the rooms are clean, well equipped and spacious. There are different bars to choose from and we also like to use the Spa that is co-located in the Hotel.

My mattress did not have a cover on it. We have a disabled child who uses a chair and because there are quite a few steps from the street to reception we need to use the chair ‘lift’ to get from the street to the hotel reception and visa versa . The chair lift works well but the area around it is very dirty. Also despite contrary instructions, guests are allowed to leave luggage in the area around the chair lift and at one point the lift was blocked with luggage and so we could not use it and had the manually lift the chair down the steps! The cost of Internet at £7 per device was expensive and therefore we did not use it. I would have been happy at £7 per room but we had three devices and that would have been £21 !

Location

Dated .room tiny .too hot .room slopped down so much so they had screwed the wardrobe into the wall it touched wall at bottom but was about 3 inches away at top. It slipped down when you entered the bathroom. The duvet was ripped. The fan in the room was thick with dust, the bath was rusty , the sink tap was thick with limescale. On checking out there was no how was your stay, or thanks for staying, save trip .. not even a goodbye!

Facilities and how grand the lobby is

Very dusty room Hate to say it but some of the staff were very smelly and wore dirty clothes Also some very angry drunks were staying which made it unpleasant and made it feel un safe while staff just stood and said nothing Rooms are very out dated and so are the room keys

No return, if availability elsewhere would have booked another hotel

The lobby and bar was lovely, staff friendly.

The mould and damp all over the bedroom walls, the baths seal had gone and water was all over the bathroom floor and no air conditioning!! A tiny but very loud fan - appreciate that it’s not priced luxury but there are some very basic human standards that I think were missed. Number 1 please sort the mould that is a health hazard.

No sleep, room smelled of cig smoke, daren’t use the mugs or kettle.

The price, but my next stay will be for more money at a better kept venue.

Cleanliness of room, a pair of socks down side of bed not mine. Inside the bath appeared to have been painted at some point as the paint was peeling off. The bed dropping from together - all the lining dropping at the side edge. A fan had been left on full whack but the room was red hot. It wasn’t until the morning I realised that whilst the fan had been on full pelt all the time so had a radiator u der the window.

Massively disappointing

Nothing. Left the hotel after getting a refund after deciding not to stay.

The initial room I was offered had a large damp patch on the ceiling and smelt heavily of damp. I returned to the front desk and asked for an alternative room. This time I was given a single room with a broken bed and a dirty bathroom. I returned to the front desk and requested a refund which I got without argument.

The staff were very nice and helpful . The hotel which was separate to our rooms was very nice and clean

There was no fans provided in the rooms . We hadto go down to reception contiuously for milk etc . The window was absolutely filthy you couldnt see anything through it at all . So even if we had a sea view we wouldnt have seen it for the dirt on the windows

Safe and nice just don't expect the moon.

Beautiful location, as close to the beach as possible (walk down a hill). Food was well cooked and ready. Staff were friendly helpful and gave great ideas for the trip. When asked they would direct you where you needed, or make suggestions. I even asked for the number for a few taxis and the staff wrote 3 out so I had a choice. Lovely place idea go again.

Nothing really, the lift was a bit cramped, there was a little bit of dust on objects in my room and the wall paper was a bit dated and stained. There was very hot weather but no fans to help you get through the night. But it was a safe place to stay and sleep.

Lovely stay at the Royal Hotel, will definitely be back.

Location was perfect right near the town & sea front. Our room was big & even though it was at the side of the hotel could still see the beach &sea. The room had iron & ironing board so didn’t have to ask like other hotels. Had a coffee machine & a fridge. Beds comfortable & room bathroom was clean.
