The staff at the camp are great and very responsive to any need of your including food drinks and medication when we needed it! The Manager Eziekel, Aliche at the head office were outstanding in helping us make multiple changes to our Itinerary!
The food was top class Indian and continental cuisine, the tents were comfortable with a hot pressure shower in the mornings and evenings an invaluable luxury in the bush!
The tent tends to cool down late at night and the lack of a room heater is a short coming!

A fantastic safari camp in an absolutely beautiful location, definitely 5*! The staff are very friendly and helpful, and feel more like family! The food is exceptional, and the safari tents are very well appointed, with large comfy beds, and an outside terrace for sitting and watching all the wildlife. The camp is situated on the banks of the Mara River, with so much wildlife all around you, on possibly the most beautiful location along the river. While we were staying we even saw a baby hippo being born! Zebras, mongoose, and vervet monkeys wander through the camp, and across the river elephant, impala and giraffe walk through, and the river is full of wallowing hippos. At night multitudes of weaver birds and storks fly in to roost while you are having your sundowners! There is a lovely clean swimming pool, in a pretty location - great for relaxing with a cool beer! The location of Mara River Camp is also very convenient - with both the gates to the Maasai Mara National Park just a short drive away. We would thoroughly recommend this camp, we had a wonderful and memorable stay here for 3 days, and it's fantastic value for money!

Mara River Camp, what an absolute gem we found! The best thing of this resort is absolutely its staff and the service. From day 1 everyone was extremely nice and helpful with us, from Rose - responsible for housekeeping - to the restaurant staff to Ezequiel - the GM - who welcomed us with all the information we needed and he made sure to be a great host every single day.
As we were on honeymoon, we were assigned a tent in a very quiet and private spot which we really appreciated. The tent had everything we needed and it was absolutely stunning. We had an amazing view to the river and it was amazing sitting on our porch and seeing monkeys, hippos, crocodiles and birds and waking up with the sound of nature every morning.
The food was very very good and they were very accommodating with us by packing lunch and breakfast for those 2 days we left early in the morning to spend the whole day in Mara for the safari. We loved having our Kenyan tea every afternoon in the restaurant terrace overlooking the hippos after a long day out.
The last day Rose gave us a gift which we found so sweet, we will have always such great memories of this place and its people!
Nothing.

location , location, location and of course the exceptional service provided by staff. I usually never remember staff names but Rose, Moses, Joseph and their Manager Ezekiel took care of our every little need. Ezekiel gave us insight on Masai culture and told us all about the Mara and it’s animals.
their is nothing not to like

A luxurious, well-run nature filled haven. Peaceful, serene, sublime...
From start to finish our experience at Mara River Camp was everything we hoped it would be.
Alice, in the Nairobi office, answered our emails and WhatsApp questions promptly and accurately. She made booking flights on the small safari planes easy and stress free and also communicated with the chef at the property to make sure our special dietary needs were accommodated. She was delightful to interact with.
Alice also arranged to have us picked up at the airstrip in one of the camp’s safari vehicles. Our ride to the camp seemed like a mini safari! It was amazing how many animals we saw just from the airstrip to the camp.
When we arrived at the camp we were met with warm and genuine hospitality by a tall Maasai with elegant manners and an extraordinary command of English. As he gave us the grand tour of our “new home” (which it truly became for the next week) it was evident that Ezekiel, the camp’s managing director, wanted to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. As he showed us around the camp he told us about the family groups of animals that live at Mara River camp.
These residents are one of the main reasons why this camp is such a special place. The property is located on directly on the Mara River, which unlike other rivers in the Maasai Mara region never dries up. Throughout the year the river flows and is home to hippopotamus and other wildlife. Just off of the elegant dining room and bar, is a terrace at the river’s edge that overlooks hippopotamus pools. Throughout the day we were entertained by these unusual creatures as they frolicked in the water, especially while we ate breakfast or enjoyed a sunset cocktail.
Our first day, we were enjoying a delicious lunch prepared by Chef Julius, when the resident family of zebras appeared and began to graze on the lawn in front of restaurant.
