A carefree vacation with spectacular lake and mountain views! Bernard’s Landing is a 70 acre waterfront resort with year round activities for the entire family. Smith Mountain Lake boasts 500 miles of shoreline surrounding the 22,000 acres of sparkling fresh water. Bernard’s Landing is on a peninsula, surrounded by water, offering lush green open spaces and spectacular amenities that are unmatched at Smith Mountain Lake.
This 1154 sq. ft. freshly painted end unit condo features a roomy 2 bedroom, 2 bath retreat with updated décor. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, dishwasher and plenty of counter space. New for 2024 is high-speed internet, a new electric fireplace, new patio set and a new washer & dryer! In previous years, a new faucet, garbage disposal & complete under-the-cabinet lighting were added to the kitchen. Additionally, improved overhead lighting in the hallways & living room and a totally renovated & awesome Master bathroom were completed! A 55" flat screen TV (with cable & Netflix) in the LR, along with very comfortable sofas & top-end leather recliner, will ensure that you will happily relax while watching a favorite show. Each spacious & peacefully decorated bedroom has a very comfortable bed, with luxurious comforters & plenty of storage for your belongings. The Queen bedroom has a 47" flat screen TV! The master bedroom offers a luxurious king-size bed and en suite bathroom. The Master bedroom also has a 55" smart flat screen TV with Netflix, and a twin sofa bed. (We would allow one additional small child, age 5 or under, to stay overnight on this sofa-bed, for a total maximum occupancy of 5 people (this sofa bed may not be moved out of the Master Bedroom). A person over the age of 3 is considered to be an adult per Franklin County Occupancy purposes.

The space
Our desire is to offer each guest a wonderful experience for the best value. We go the extra mile to ensure that the condo is VERY clean and well-maintained. Kitchen cabinets are fully stocked with all the cookware, a wide variety of spices, place settings & flatware that you will need to make your gourmet (or not so gourmet) meals. In addition, there is plenty of space for all your groceries. A new, large clothes washer & dryer is located in our condo for your use. We provide liquid hand soap, shampoo, body wash, a blow dryer and starter supplies of toilet paper & some basic consumables. Pillows, blankets, bath, hand towels & washcloths are provided. Don't forget to bring your own beach towels. Please let us know if you would like to use a Pak n Play or a high chair. We can provide one!

Napoli at the Lake is our new favorite place to eat in all of the Smith Mtn Lake area – and it’s less than a 5 minute walk! Also at this waterfront restaurant is a full service bar for great snacks and nibbles. Many other wonderful restaurants are a short drive by car or boat – but we find all we want right outside our door! In addition, Bernie's Convenience Store has a wonderful assortment of snacks, drinks, gifts & sun/water items! For more complete grocery shopping, Kroger Grocery Store is less than 8 miles away, at the Westlake Center, along with other shops & a movie theatre.
Complimentary amenities that you may use (an Amenity Pass is provided for your stay) include an Indoor Pool & Hot Tub, an Olympic-sized outdoor pool at the Clubhouse and a second outdoor pool by the Conference Center (recently renamed Highlands). Our condo has a lovely view of the lake & is very centrally located, with a very short stroll on relatively flat lawn to almost everything! The Clubhouse has a fitness center, racquetball court, steam room & sauna. There are also 4 tennis courts, 6 pickle ball courts, a basketball court and a dreamy, sandy beach with tiki umbrellas. We offer racquets & other toys for you to use while you are here. No need to worry about packing ALL your toys for your family's vacation!
Smith Mountain Lake is Virginia’s Premier fishing lake! Fish right off our docks or long shoreline at the resort, rent a boat, or charter a fishing trip. There are many Convenience Docks around the resort for you to tie up your boat during your stay, along with on on-site Boat Launch & trailer storage. There are also on-site Rental Shacks where you can arrange rental of a boat, jet ski, canoe or SUP. The only thing needed for a fun-filled & unforgettable vacation making lasting memories, is...YOU! GOLFERS can play at the West Lake Country Club as well as other nearby courses such as Blue Hills & Hanging Rock in Roanoke.

When you arrive at our vacation retreat, you will enter using a keyless digital lock which you can access with a code we provide before check-in. Parking for 1 car is directly at the front of the unit. Overflow parking for 2 additional cars is in the lot behind the building. The garage is not available to guests. Trailers must be parked in the Security Parking Lot. Decals for boats/PWC can be purchased at the Office or the Security Office.

We had a wonderful vacation here! Enjoyed boating, playing pickleball, and swimming at the beach, Kathy provided lots of helpful information prior to our stay and responded quickly to any questions that we had. Great place to stay!

The property was immaculate and very, very comfortable. Kathy and her husband are very communicative and helped us immediately by phone when the local wifi went down. The location gave us a view of the lake and we were close to the pool and the little beach and the pickleball courts. They had games for us to play during the hot afternoon and pickle ball paddles available! They were NOT stingy about toilet paper, paper towel, spices etc. that some rentals are which made it very nice. Lastly, there was no one coming in immediately after us so they allowed us to stay an extra four hours! I would definitely recommend their place!!

From the minute we walked in, we were amazed and excited. The pictures on VRBO were exactly what we found. Many items were labeled in the kitchen and we were delighted with the new bathrooms. The master suite, a king bed, was so comfortable. My sister in law and her husband were in the queen bedroom. After a couple of nights, they realized their sleep was affected by the beginnings of a hammock-like mattress, which the owners are now putting on their priority list to fix! The only thing we couldn't find was a freight elevator to alleviate the two sets of stairs as we (all over 65) struggled to get our suitcases up :) . Really, it wasn't much of a problem! The view, the furniture, the all around aura of the condo was perfect!
To sum up, a delightful, comfortable, enjoyable stay!!

This is a terrific property. We had everything we needed. The lake is beautiful. Kathy was very helpful and responsive. Recommend the Booker T Washington Memorial nearby and the National DDay Museum.

The whole process with Kathy was great. The condo was excellent and had everything that we needed during our stay. We will go back when we are in the SML area.

This was a weekend to relax and go boating on the lake. The condo was comfortable and as described. We were able to use a courtesy dock for our boat that was just a short walk from the condo. Communication with the owner was prompt and helpful. Would rent this condo again.

At first glance 711 was beautiful, however there were a few issues which the owner should address,
The wall to wall carpet is very nice however it presents a challenge moving chairs in the dining area.
The dishwasher is extremely noisy.
The unit is 2nd floor condo and is extremely annoying with guests ( children) running and jumping on the third floor.
The outside deck has to be cleaned to be usable.

Furnishings and amenities were top-notch for comfort. We felt so spoiled to have so much carefully provided for us, and made our July 4th week so memorable. Bernards Landing setting on the Lake made our stay a place we'll return to. Great communication with the owners too. Thank you!

The weather was amazing. The lake was absolutely beautiful.
This condo was very nice and clean. We loved the beautiful view of the lake and loved seeing the hummingbirds on the balcony. The deers and other wild life was so nice to see also.
Bernard’s landing is very impressive and beautifully kept. We definitely recommend it and will be back.

This condo is absolutely fantastic! Everything was immaculately clean when we arrived, and it was amply stocked with everything we needed for a great long-weekend getaway. The community is very quiet, well kept, and friendly, and there are plenty of places to fish, swim and relax, scattered around the grounds. I enjoyed the balcony in the mornings, it was a perfect spot for coffee, and in the evenings it was great for cocktails and watching the hummingbirds. The condo itself is spacious, beautifully decorated, and well thought out for guests to feel at home! I’ve rented from VRBO for many years and I have to say that this is one of the best rentals I’ve stayed in! The renovations are spot on. The owners clearly communicate, both prior to check in, and with expectations on checking out. I will absolutely be coming back!!
I highly recommend the D-Day memorial in Bedford as a must see.

We really enjoyed our stay and would rate everything five stars or more! We chose it for the lake views and proximity to the lake. The condo is really nice and set up as a home with more than enough comfortable, quality furniture to completely relax and unwind, and not just the lower end furniture you see in lots of rentals. The master bedroom is large, with a quality mattress. Everything was super-clean with attention to detail. The kitchen had everything necessary. Convenient location to all the amenities. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evening with a glass of wine, with a view of the lake. Kathy, the host, was helpful, generous and gracious. We would definitely return! Highly recommend!

This condo has it all. We arrived to a very clean and well stocked place, where Kathy left a sweet card and a bag of king size chocolates for us. Yum! The kitchen is fully stocked, they have fans in each bedroom closet which we loved!
We rented a pontoon, we had dinner on site @ Napoli by the lake restaurant which was delicious. We played tennis and dipped in the pool.
Me and my husband took my parents here for their 45th wedding anniversary with no complaints. The beds were very comfortable too. My mom lost her earring and the owner notified us that it was found and promptly mailed it back to us. Who does that these days?

My family stayed here for a wedding! With tons of family scattered throughout Bernard's Landing, our location was my favorite! We walked right down to the beach and pool and found a new love for pickleball, we ended up playing every morning! The condo was great and exactly like it was pictured and had everything we needed. Great view!
