Cute location but over-priced

We enjoyed our stay. It’s a cute location. We love Gruene, it’s always wonderful to visit. The welcome gift (home made chocolate cake) was very tasty.

Overall, the Guest House is a tad over-priced for a one bedroom, one bathroom and no full kitchen rental. The two beds upstairs in the open attic are hard as a brick; children may sleep well on them, unfortunately my mom (in her 70ies) didn't. The hot tub could benefit from being aired out from time to time to reduce the mold. Since it's a "premier" unit some new towels would be nice (bad smell). We used our own. We spent a week at a beach house rental on Mustang Island in late June and paid the same price for a 2/2 with full kitchen for 5 nights/compared to 2 nights at Clutter Falls. We mainly rented this location because it had a hot tub, which was not well kept and a bit of a disappointment. Other than that it's a really cute location.

pleasant, and quiet. close to town.

I didn’t like that Google had to stay plugged in. felt like I was being spied on . otherwise it was a great location and accommodating for us.

No frills cabin with an awesome location

We love the location of the cabin. Nice, woodsy property close to Gruene. Loved the hot tub and river views!

Not well outfitted for the cost/length of our stay. There was a very strong smell of maple syrup when we walked in? Very strange and we could not figure out what it could be from. Perhaps it’s the cleaner that was used in the house? Only 4 towels for a 4 night stay. We had to use the towels both for bathing and for the hot tub, for 4 people it would have been nice to have at least 2 towels each for the stay. Also, no coffee filters so we could not take advantage of the coffee that was provided. The bowls were not microwaveable so had to make the oatmeal we brought in a mug. The hand soap dispensers in bath and kitchen were almost empty, and there were only 2 rolls of toilet paper for a 4 night stay. Only 1 extra blanket in closet. The chairs on deck were so old and worn we felt like they would break if we sat in them. Overall the place needs to be freshened up, felt old and musty and dated. The location is awesome and we loved the hot tub, but the cabin could really benefit from a facelift.
