Imagine snuggling by the wood fire, stargazing from your deck, or unwinding in the hot tub while nature serenades you.
Kayaking at the river-mouth, hiking at Jenner Headlands, and enjoying the Pacific Ocean (and Russian River) beaches are easily accessible adventures from The Haven. Conveniently located, yet a world away, The Haven is the ultimate spot for your Sonoma Coast adventure!
More about The Haven~
The open floor plan is drenched in sunlight during the day and a skylight above the comfy queen bed allows you to count the stars as you fall asleep. The cozy loft space is a special place for an older kid or the young-at-heart adult. Similar to a treehouse, it is only accessible by climbing a narrow, vertical ladder and may not be suitable for everyone.
The kitchen has all the essentials--stove and oven, microwave, coffee maker (drip and K-cup), fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Cookware & utensils, towels & cleaning supplies are provided. There are indoor and outdoor dining areas that seat four. The bathroom is small, but functional with a large sunken tub and separate shower stall with soap and shampoo.
The heart of the cozy living room is the wood-burning fireplace. It is a great space to snuggle on the sofa, watch a little TV (basic cable and a DVD player are provided) and catch up on your reading.
The expansive outdoor space provides a large wrap around deck with a propane grill and Adirondack chairs on the upper level. On the lower level, your dog will appreciate being able to enjoy the large fenced back yard while you relax in the private hot-tub. This is the perfect place to unwind after a day spent hiking the Jenner headlands, exploring the coastal redwoods or kayaking in the river mouth.
While people of all ages are welcome at The Haven, the property and house have not been furnished with children in mind. Features that make The Haven a special place for adults (the elevated deck, hot-tub, wood-burning fireplace and sunken bath tub, for example), may not be suitable or safe for young children.
The main living space is all on one level; however, there are stairs to enter the house and the bed is on an elevated platform. Access to the hot tub area requires navigating stone steps, a gravel path and changes in terrain.
Pets
Jenner is an awesome place for pooches! One pet is welcome to join you during your stay at The Haven (please disclose when you make your reservation). There is no size restriction or pet fee. While fenced, the yard is NOT escape proof, so pets cannot be left unattended in the yard, and must be crated if they are left alone in the house.
Getting to Jenner
Jenner is about an hour's drive to Santa Rosa regional airport (STS) , 2 hours to Oakland (OAK) and 2 1/2 hours to San Francisco (SFO). A car is strongly recommended, as ride share & public transit options are limited.
Travelers should not rely on information posted on this platform that is generated by AI, as it is not always accurate and is beyond the owner's ability to remove or revise. For example, I would not describe this property as being walking distance to Goat Rock beach (the platform AI does), but it is a short kayak ride across the river mouth and the boat launch is a short walk from the house :-)

Guests raved about the cozy house, breathtaking outdoors, great views, proximity to the beach, well-kept hot tub, and lovely deck. Perfect weather for kayaking and a fantastic stay overall!

We spent a week at Jenner Haven. What a treat. The kitchen was so well appointed that cooked in most of the time. A lot of relaxing, reading, & hot tubbing. Peaceful and quiet in a beautiful setting. Hosts were very responsive. We will be back. ( for a great kayak tour, check out Smart Sonoma Tour… Eric the owner took us out for a great morning)

Charming rustic beach cabin with a million dollar patio view. Coming from a hot inland area, the cool weather and fog was a welcome relief. The cabin is located in the Monterey Pine forest which made me realize it has been far too long since I looked out a kitchen window and saw nothing but garden and trees. The not for the faint hearted part of the cabin would be the sky light over the bed. In our opinion, a blackout track shade that opened and closed would do the trick. Also, the well used bed was a little hard on our +60 year old backs. Loved our stay and looking forward to coming back.

Everything about this place is amazing. The location, walkable to the shore, the hot tub, the birds in the trees! We will be back.

We had a wonderful time at the Haven, playing board games, sitting in front of the fire, and having lunch at Cafe Aquatica. Very quiet and nature-filled surroundings. Note that there is no separate bedroom, so we decided to go just the two of us and leave the dog at home!

We had a wonderful stay at the Haven. The house was cozy. The outdoors was breath taking. We loved all the different plants and succulents.Great views from the deck. The beach was close. We had perfect weather. We went kayaking. Which was right down the hill. Cafe Aquatica was great! We liked the fenced yard for our dog. We would love to go back. Thank you!

It was our first time visiting the west coast or as my earth sister calls it, the Best coast, lol. Carrie (the property owner) returned all my emails promptly and answered all my questions prior to our arrival. I was in constant awe of the beauty we were surrounded by. The property itself was a gift to the senses. An abundance of natural fragrance from all the plant life. The views from the deck of the Russian River and the Sonoma coastline were just beautiful. It's a wonderful cottage that is well-equipped to fit all your needs. After a day of exploring, that sunken bathtub was just great. There is a hot tub in the yard; It's totally private and we really enjoyed it. We slept so well, the most comfortable bed! So much to see in Jenner and the surrounding area along the coastline;the sunsets are not to be missed. Cafe Aquatica was great for brunch, Drakes in Bodega Bay and of course Rivers End both for dinner were fabulous. Armstrong Woods isn't to far as well as some great vineyards throughout Sonoma. We loved our time in Jenner and look forward to a second visit real soon!

My husband and I were looking for a weekend away from the city for our anniversary and The Haven did not disappoint! Very private, cozy, and had everything we needed. A highlight was the outdoor hot tub and beautiful views.
There were a couple of places to walk to (coffee shop, wine bar, convenient store, and the water front), which was nice. Very short drive to great hiking and beaches. One thing to be aware of, cell service is really spotty in the area (which wasn't a big deal for us), but the Haven wifi worked great!
If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, I totally recommend this place. We'll definitely be returning in the future!

We had a delightful stay over the New Year's weekend! Jenner is the perfect location; quiet and friendly, and the perfect distance both from the Bay Area and to lovely beaches, Fort Ross, nearby small towns, etc. The Haven is up a quiet road and ideal for really getting away from it all. The house itself is a cool little piece of architecture; quirky modernism with the efficient design of a boat. (Much appreciated by these architecture nerds!) It is extremely well equipped - couldn't have asked for anything more in the way of amenities or equipment - plus, that spacious deck and that wonderful hot tub for soaking. It was a major plus that we could bring our two dogs (who hate fireworks) and have a quiet, peaceful New Year's Eve, sitting by the fireplace, cooking good food, and enjoying each other's company. Thank you so much, Carrie and John, for sharing your sweet place with us! We hope we can come back soon!

Can’t possibly come back soon enough! That should tell you exactly what we thought of this beautiful, private rustic place. The bed was super comfy. We enjoyed building fires in the Swedish fireplace. The kitchen contained all the conveniences of home. Love the wrap around deck and enjoyed feeding the birds. The hot tub was a highlight of the trip not to mention, you are close to the ocean and the river. Enjoyed the mornings with the fog rolling in and out. We enjoyed our coastal trips to Guerneville, which is 30 minutes away, where there is a Safeway and to Bodega Bay, which is 20 minutes away. We loved the little a town of Duncan Mills, which had the most wonderful, bakery and gift shops. Did I mention gazing at the stars from our bedroom skylight?

We had a wonderful relaxing weekend for a second time at The Haven. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We really enjoyed having the hot tub and grill. The location is perfect for watching the sunset or the stars at night. We will definitely return!

Property in well kept. The outside could use plenty of t.l.c. (weather worn). Nothing a couple coats of good sealer wouldn't cure. All in All the Haven is nice, clean, and tucked back un a beautiful canyon. The gardens are beautiful and well kept. Beautiful and peaceful with beautiful views in all directions 😍

It was Perfect ... we enjoyed every day, every moment ... and the local Thursday night movie.
The mattress great in the alcove.
For a queen size bed ... both of us comfortable and did not feel the other moving around. And our friend survived the up and down the ladder to your loft space ... and enjoyed it very much.
We might love to rent again next year.

Bedroom upstairs very difficult to get too . 7 year old grandson got up there but afraid to sleep the night

Cozy and clean with everything you need. We loved all the quails and watching the hummers from the deck while watching the fog roll in. Serene and quiet. Our dog loved it, except for the neighbor with the German Shepherd which tried to leap the deck gate before he was finally retrieved. Can’t blame our Hosts for that! All in all we were very happy with The Haven. You should give it a try!

Our stay at The Haven was all we imagined and more. It was a perfect retreat for us two now married some 55 years and counting. Being native Southern Californians, we have been up and down the coast every which away! Our stay at the Haven will be forever remembered. Regards to our hosts, Carrie and John. Thank You. My wife and I stayed at the haven for four nights for our fifth year wedding anniversary. The place was so quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The house was equipped with everything we could possibly need and very comfortable. The deck had views of the Russian River and a sliver of ocean. Check in was easy as can be. We will definitely be staying here again in the future. Highly recommended!

Just spent 5 nights at this special place and loved it! It is a little gem of a place. Spotlessly clean, nicely appointed with lots of little thoughtful touches that make it amazing. It is private and serene, with a large wraparound deck with views to the river, the sea, and surrounding hills covered in beautiful trees and foliage With all the recent rain, a vernal stream gushed by below the property, providing a soothing soundtrack to the setting. A lovely fenced yard, nicely landscaped, provided a great space for the dogs as well as the hot tub which was so clean and stayed the constant perfect temperature. The interior space is primarily comprised of a large room with a comfortable dining area and a living area with dish cable TV and a DVD player. Also an excellent freestanding fireplace, that burned clean and provided great heat (there is also a wall heater). There was a great supply of wood, kindling, fire starters and matchwands provided. This great room is fronted by the expansive deck, At the back of the living area is a bedroom alcove, compact, but with a very comfortable bed, reading lamps and closet space. At the back of the dining area is the kitchen, also compact, but well equipped. With pots, pans, blender, coffee makers (with coffee provided) knives, cutting boards, utensils, baking equipment ,tea, oil salt and pepper. Electric glass top stove and separate wall oven. Dishwasher, with dish soap and cleaning supplies. There is door onto the deck at the back of the kitchen with a metal table and chairs which provided a nice spot to have breakfast and lunch while looking down onto the garden. Another door onto the deck between the kitchen and dining area, and yet another door to the deck at the front between the dining and living areas. This place benefits from lots of well placed windows which bring a harmonious balance of light to the interior (including a large skylight over the bed which made for very comfortable star gazing!) Sandwiched between the sleeping alcove and the kitchen is the bathroom which is small but serves the purpose, with a toilet closet (which can be accessed by folding doors from the bedroom or the bathroom), which has a sink and mirror, a sunken claw foot tub and a shower stall. Body wash, shampoo and TP provided. Also bath towels, which we also used for the hot tub or you could bring beach towels. We’ve stayed in a number of rentals in Jenner over the years. This was one of the best!
