About this cottage rental
Come, visit us in the historic village of Oriental. The town was named after the Sailing Steamer Oriental. Built in Philadelphia in 1861, but only lasted about a year after running aground. Native Americans were the first to come here before the Europeans. They farmed the lands and fished in the creeks and on the river. Fishing is still big here and the trawlers grace the harbor, bringing in a catch of shrimp, crab or flounder depending on the season. This little piece of paradise that we call home was also a stomping ground for pirates like Edward Teach/Blackbeard. Many of tales about buried treasure....

This scenic year round boating destination is great for anyone looking to getaway for the weekend, or an extended stay. This bike, sailor, and family friendly hideaway is known for its breath taking waterfront views, great fishing, steady winds, and community events. Our local hospitality will welcome you and your family to experience local events such as our annual Croaker festival, Dragon Run, Community Yard Sale, Music Festivals, Farmer's Market, and more. While you are here we invite you to dine in one of our local restaurants where fresh seafood is always on the menu. Wake up with a nice cup of hot coffee and enjoy the morning views of the harbor at our local coffee shop. While this may seem like a small town, we have a lot to offer! Oriental has something for everyone and people of all ages. We look forward to being your next getaway.
