pleased to have left that morning wont be back

nice no road noise

When i checked in they couldnt speak english they had to translate my words to a machine 😞, also people coming in at 2am making lots noise slamming doors etc

Very expensive for service we received.

Only one positive point - the room was clean.

The property is far from town, with no sign difficult to find. Owners do not speak English, and communicate through mobile translators. The room (ensuite included) we occupied was one of 5 rooms the house has. This room was small, the bathroom was a good size but very loud plumbing - water, toilet. We had to share the dining room and kitchen with other guests. No breakfast. We paid $465 for 1 night! - Very bad value for many

Great place to stay I only wish I'd booked longer! 😀

Everything!! Quiet location but city on the door step. Amazing facilities onsite and such a lovely warm welcome from the host. Biscuits available all day. We tell everyone about this place!

Has good points but wouldn't stay again

Location was nice and quiet, comfortable bed and good shower. Modern decor, very roomy.

Property was hard to locate as no signage out on road, confusion on arrival as the gentleman didn't speak English and eventually handed us a mobile phone to talk to someone. Room was very cold as the underfloor heating hadn't kicked in/wasn't working (we called the manager and they told us where to find a heater in the shared lounge area). No TV in room (my bad - should have read the guest reviews better). There were hairs on the bathroom floor and the vanity drawer wasn't clean, and there appeared to be another persons toiletries in the bathroom. No coffee or plain tea in the kitchen (only herbal) plus no breakfast as advertised. No facility for recycling, and the section could do with a tidy up as there were old car tyres and a fridge dumped outside.

Peaceful and comfortable, in pleasant grounds with entertaining ducks!

Very quiet and peaceful on the edge of town close to several bush walks. Friendly owner, great ducks waddling around and a lovely lounge/deck.

Great experience at a nice property and very helpful staff

The location of the property is great. Just 9 minutes drive from the city centre, the views from the property are great, as well as the walls around the property. The rooms are well done and very clean. There’s a shared kitchen where we could make our tea/coffee or even food. Staff is quite friendly and eager to help out in all ways, including guidance on trips, what to do and other questions one may have. The owner even drove me to the airport the day after I reached to pick up the rental car. We had to extend our stay during peak days while we tried to close a rental property, and again the owner helped with a simple ask while maintaining the rent. overall a great experience and will stay again.

A pleasant 4 nights with a few kinks

Rooms are new and spacious. Kitchen facilities were very good. Setting is great - trees and birdsong. Chickens, ducks and geese out in the drive, with alpacas in fields adjacent.

required google to get around - a bad google suggestioin when travelling north on SH 1. Also a few poor google suggestions travelling to northern directions. Not the proprietors fault .... BUT a handout of the best roads to take away from the motel would be good. Also - salt and pepper shakers, with refill ability and no sugar in the container. The staff need to keep spare toilet paper in the bathrooms because conversing in english takes time.

-Owner was nice

- Never met staff - weren’t on sight - Had a strange setup (two house like places facing each other) - The main door was kept unlocked - Couldn’t lock the bedroom doors from the outside so anyone could get in - Bedroom curtain wouldn’t close so slept with them - Had a creepy vibe like we were being watched

Great place

The owners are very engaged with their customers and have done a great job with the facility. The bed was so comfy, the bathroom was luxury, they even had the heaters on in our room when we arrived. It was also great knowing we could use the communal dining/kitchen area if needed.

The lodge was set up for large group bookings with communal facilities. If your room was not part of the group booking, you might feel awkward in that settng.
