This is a classy and comfortable apartment for a visit to Zagreb. Walkable to anything you need and all the sights in the heart of the city. Anything you could need is stocked in the apartment and although the living room and decorations are vintage, the appliances and other accommodations are new. Alan was a perfect host.

Alan was extremely hospitable. He was friendly and made sure the small details were in place which made a huge difference!

I am super happy that I rented this place for four days. It has the feel of a home, and not a staged rental, and it has many very thoughtful amenities, like bluetooth speakers, different chargers everywhere, a selection of teas, fresh milk for coffee, and a very cute, personally tailored welcome sign. I had been staying in a hotel for a week, and it was nice to get to an actual apartment where I could spread out and do laundry. The location can't be beat. The main Trg Ban Jelacic is less than a minute walking distance from this rental, and this is the first time I have stayed in Zagreb where I didn't take a tramvaj -- there was simply no need given that this was so central. Alan and his property manager were very responsive and were very quick to answer any questions I had, and made sure to arrange for taxis whenever needed, even at 4:30 a.m. Finally, the apartment is on the back side of a courtyard off a busy street. That means that, while this is a seriously bustling location with tons of cafes, tramvajs right outside, shops and restaurants (i.e., street noise), I couldn't hear that street noise in the apartment whatsoever. I can vouch for this because I have a hard time sleeping when it's loud outside, and Zagreb seemed very busy this time of year. I would 150% stay here again.

We had a fabulous break exploring the city. The apartment is within walking distance of all the main attractions . Alan has catered for all needs, with lovely welcoming touches. The apartment is tastefully decorated, and every need is well catered for. Alan was able to assist us with a taxi transfer when our own booking let us down. We would love to return one day.

We stayed here a week and took some side trips to see more of Croatia and Slovenia. The location can’t be beat. We walked everywhere and took the tram. There is a grocery store extremely close. The apartment has everything we needed and extras we loved- like coffee for the coffee maker and a container of milk and juice to get us started. Lots of little generosities (umbrellas, clothes washer soap etc) Perfect host and a perfect week.

Not sure you could find a better location to stay at while in Zagreb. Alan is a great host and has stocked the apartment with everything you may need as a weary traveler and he's nearby for the 'how do I do question'. This apartment drops you right near the main square and from there you can walk to every significant sightseeing opportunity. If we return we'll be staying here again.

What a most lovely apartment. For anyone who loves vintage and new combined; this is an artist's paradise. In the middle of all things happening in Zagreb, this apartment is amazingly quiet. Our host, Alan could not have been more helpful and kind. Everything you need is right there and a grocery store is literally across the street. Having a washer/dryer combination and built in hairdryer was a lifesaver for us. We will definitely be back!

The apartment was in a great location between upper and lower Zagreb allowing quick access to touristic sites and restaurants. Alan was a very responsive host and the apartment had all necessary amenities and then some

Loved our stay here. Everything was perfect from the warm and friendly welcome to the excellent amenities and little touches that made us feel so much at home. There is even a little deck where we enjoyed our wine in the evening. Would absolutely love to come back. Even though the apartment is so central to all that Zagreb offers, it is quiet and restful - a virtual oasis in the city.

The apartment was comprehensively equipped and spotlessly clean. It is in a great location and had everything that we could have wanted and more. Even though it is very close to the main square it was very quiet with its outlook facing the old town. The host, Alan, had very good communication both before and during our stay. He arranged for a discounted taxi with the friendly Mr Zarko from the airport. On arrival we were greeted by Stefan, Alan's neighbour, who showed us around the apartment and provided us with local knowledge. Alan provided lots of little extras such as chocolates, breakfast provisions, coffee, a water cooler and even an honesty fridge containing a host of beverages. We had a great time here and have no hesitation in recommending this fantastic apartment to anyone coming to Zagreb.

This place is one of my all time favorite properties to have stayed at. The location is superb, the space is authentic and no detail has been forgotten. Cell phone chargers built in next to the beds, espresso pods, laundry detergent pods and so many extras you do not usually find in rentals. Alan was a wonderful host and had wonderful communication. He even took care of scheduling our transportation from/to the airport. I cannot say enough good things about this property!

The apartment is beautiful - fully furnished with wonderful pieces and every detail attended to. Kitchen perfect and even stocked with some supplies. Perfect location to explore all of Zagreb. Quiet with great beds. Alan is a great host. We will stay here always when in Zagreb.

Alan is a great host. He provides a nice, comfortable and clean place. He thinks of many little things that you may need while you are away from home, and provide them, All these little touches that made our stay truely enjoyable. This accommodation is in a great location, can easily walk to various interesting places, and is so close to the daily market that we thoroughly enjoy. Will not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Mum and I came to Zagreb to explore the Christmas markets, the best in Europe for the third year in a row, and we wanted somewhere convenient and comfortable to stay. The flower apartments went above and beyond our expectations. From the time of booking to the time of departure, Alan, the host, was exceptionally helpful. He arranged a private pick-up from and to the airport (very reasonably priced) and was waiting for us at the apartment on arrival (he lives next door, which was a comfort to know should there have been any issues; there weren't!) He gave us a tour of the gorgeous apartment, explaining everything from the centralised lighting system to how the coffee machine works. I had seen in previous reviews that the apartment was missing a coffee machine, cooking utensils and fitted sheets, but Alan has clearly taken on board past feedback and they are all in place now. It is no exaggeration to say that Alan has truly thought of everything when it comes to the comfort and satisfaction of his guests. Not only were we greeted by a personalised welcome message on the lightbox on the wall, but there were also complimentary chocolates, slippers, a water cooler, fully stocked teas and coffees, milk and juice for our first morning as well as a selection of crackers and biscuits, a very reasonably priced mini bar (2 euros per item), chargers for every type of device, all the guides to Zagreb and even some Christmas decorations to truly make it feel like a home away from home. The convenience of this apartment extends to its location; bang smack in the centre of everything! We walked everywhere (except once taking the funicular up the hill to the 'uptown') and never had to walk far to find something Christmassy going on. It's easy to see why Zagreb has won the best Christmas Market award 3 years in a row. The celebrations extend throughout the city, and I can't even begin to imagine how many fairy lights are used at this time of year. The only minor (and it was minor!) downside to the apartment being so central, was that the musical offerings which went on until around 1am on Saturday and Sunday mornings were definitely audible in the bedrooms. This didn't disturb us at all, but if you're sensitive to noise and are going around the same time, earplugs could be helpful. Overall this was a fantastic stay and we will definitely be recommending Alan's apartment to everyone!

We spent 5 days at this lovely apartment in the heart of Zagreb and couldn't be more pleased. Having been a 5-star host in the past, I have a high standard not only for the accommodations but for the overall experience. Alan knocked it out of the park. As we have family in Zagreb, we have stayed at hotels and other apartments, but will be returning here. The apartment was spotless and Alan has thought of every amenity, including the eye glass wipes under the remote controls! The location is excellent--steps from everything. Yet the view out the windows is like overlooking a quiet park. On arrival, we were met at the train station and escorted to the apartment and Alan arranged for reasonable transit to the airport on departure. All communications were timely and professional, but also felt as though a friend were welcoming you to their home. Highly recommend Alan and Flower Square apartments---we will be back!

Alan`s apartment is perfect. Spotlessly clean. Everything you need and more is provided. His attention to detail is amazing. He arranged for our pick up at the airport and was at the apartment to meet us when we arrived. The apartment is in the heart of Old Town, so you just walk out the door to explore. Many wonderful shops, restaurants, and attractions nearby. My husband was ill and needed medical attention, so Alan made the appointment and arranged for a for a freind to meet us and go to the clinic. His friend waited for us and picked up the prescription. By the way, a 30 minute doctor`s office visit in Zagreb was $22 which speaks volumes about American health care. If you're visiting Zagreb, make sure you check to see if Alan`s apartment is available.

This was probably the best VRBO property I or my husband have ever stayed in. Everything was taken care of-there wasn’t one thing I could think of that we were missing and the apartment itself is beautiful. The location is amazing-we walked to everything. Alan was so nice and waited up to greet us even though our flight was in the evening and we got a little lost finding the place at first. He answered all of our questions and was always available if we needed him. I am so grateful that this apartment was our first stop-it really set a great tone for the rest of our time in Croatia.

Excellent correspondence with Alan from the first email with lots of helpful information. Apartment was ready when we arrived early and we were greeted by Stephan who gave us wonderful advice about the neighbourhood and transportation and even walked with us to show us around the neighbourhood. The apartment which is just beautiful is in a great location and you can walk to all the main attractions in minutes to the City, squares, parks, restaurants, pubs, cafes, grocery stores, transportation. As we were celebrating our 60th birthdays Alan was so thoughtful to leave us a delicious chocolate cake and a bottle of wine. The apartment is up a small alleyway from the Main Street and backs onto a lovely park so there was no outside noise and the beds were so comfortable - best sleep on our 3 week holiday!! I would highly recommend this lovely apartment. Thank you so much Alan.

Apartment Ilica is a lovely, spacious apartment filled with beautiful antiques, art and vintage charm. The location is superb -- right in the middle of everything you'd want to see and do in Zagreb, yet situated up a secluded alleyway that means quiet in the evenings and early mornings. We had coffee on our lovely balcony each morning, overlooking a green, tree-filled park. Our wonderful host Alan provided everything we could possibly need -- including adapters for all our electronic devices! We truly felt we had our very own "home" in Zagreb -- Apartment Ilica was a highlight of our trip. Needless to say, we WILL be back. Thank you Alan for a very memorable stay! Clare and Gillian

First off, the host speaks very good English and travels. He's educated, of good character, and has an instruction book on how his appliances operate (like the washer/dryer combo which is often unfamiliar territory for most Canadians). There are three working tvs with several English-speaking stations, a charming Juliet balcony that I actually used on a daily basis, great wi-fi reception (even on the balcony), and a bathroom in which you can comfortably move around. The apt is very clean and tastefully decorated. He has stocked his two bedroom rental with toiletries and useful tourism hand-outs and reference books. He lives super close and is sincere in his offer of assistance. (For instance, I suffered a medical emergency on my second day. He came from work to check on me and lent me taxi fare!) l would stay here again without hesitation. I missed creature comforts which must strike southern Europeans as peculiar: bed sheets (flat and fitted) with pillows; a coffee maker, such as a Melita and basic cooking implements. But, to be fair on the latter, the apartment is surrounded with cafes, restaurants and pubs, and it is in Croatians' cultural practice to dine out on a daily basis. Also, black-out curtains or shutters in the master would've been much appreciated. The building is close to corner stores, though he very thoughtfully stocks his fridge with skim milk, oj, mineral water and beer. The trams are right ouside. The taxi referral he provides is dependable. Zagreb is easy to get around, most under thirty-five speak functional English and everyone is really nice. Medical and dental tourism is growing. I had a great time here, largely in part because our rental was a fortunate choice. A big thank you to my host!
