Villa Mareneve has the potential to be a really good rental property. It has lush, well maintained gardens with a splendid pool and views to both the sea and to Mount Etna. Mara, the host who lives in an adjoining part of the property, responded quickly to our questions and requirements both before and during our visit. The interior of the villa however needs some TLC. Various things were broken or didn’t function well, for example the cooker light, a blocked washbasin and plugs that didn’t allow water to stay in basins. Additional blankets were provided on our request after a very cool night, whereas in most properties these are immediately to hand. The lighting was old fashioned and inadequate, making the whole place seem rather dark. Solar energy is used for heating the hot water so there was never enough in the evening for showers, even on sunny days. Mara had to arrange a top up via the boiler on several occasions. The shower doors upstairs were difficult to close and caused leakage. The bed mattresses were too worn and not comfortable. Likewise the pillows were too small and uncomfortable. Better signage is required in order to find the villa. A small “151” on the wall, partially hidden by foliage, was the only indication but a prominent villa name would be of assistance. However, it is a safe location with electronically controlled entry gates, giving a feeling of security. Several reviews from previous years mentioned that the front door lock needs attention. It still does as it takes a lot of fiddling to get it to open! The owners are quite rightly concerned with recycling and we were diligent in putting waste in the correct bins. For visitors staying more than a few days additional bags should be provided for rubbish since separate bins were needed for 4 categories of trash. Villa Mareneve is in a quiet location and is conveniently situated for visits by car to Taormina, Mount Etna, Syracusa, local supermarkets and restaurants.

Perfect for 8 adults (3 couples & 2 singles). Large rooms, ensuites for all bedrooms. Huge swimming pool. Any problem fixed immediately by our friendly host, Mara. Great location for Mt Etna, historic villages and beaches. Front door lock hard to operate.

Checking in was effective with the host walking us through all the details of the house. The view was great with Etna in sight from the balcony. Everything in the house was as described with all AC in all rooms. The host was fast to respond to any questions or help with problem during our stay. We would recommend this hose to others.

The Villa was just lovely and did not disappoint. The accommodations with each bedroom having a private bath was a big plus. We were 6 adults and 2 children and everyone was very comfortable and happy. The Villa and grounds were well cared for as was the wonderful pool.

Everything about the house was correct, clean, very well equipped, and the pool was clean with totally clear water, the whole family would like to thank Mara for all her help during our holiday.

La maison est idéalement située entre la mer et l'Etna. Proche de Catane. Facilement accessible grâce à l'autoroute. La maison est très bien conçue, spacieuse et chaleureuse. Le jardin est un écrin de verdure. Un lieu où il est agréable de vivre de passer d'excellentes vacances. Nous conseillons vivement la villa de Mara. Celle-ci est très agréable, discrète et disponible. Merci à elle pour son accueil et pour le soin apporté au confort de notre groupe.

Wir haben sehr schöne Ferien in diesem Objekt verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr gross und die Vermieterin sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir waren zu 10. in diesem Haus und für diese Anzahl Gäste hat es lediglich zu wenig Geschirr. Ansonsten hat alles gepasst und wir können dieses Objekt wärmstens empfehlen.

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Für 6 Erwachsene war der Preis allerdings etwas zu hoch für die gegebene Leistung. Pool und Aussenbereich sehr schön und auch die Bade und Schlafzimmer

La villa est en retrait de la route dans un bel écrin de verdures. Les chambres sont confortables, le séjour spacieux et le jardins très agréables avec ses plantes gigantesques divers et variés. Mara, la propriétaire est des plus sympathiques. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour.

Die Villa war sehr sehr schön, total komfortabel und sauber. Der Außenbereich, vor alles der Pool hat uns allen sehr zugesagt. Der Pool war riesig. Der Ausblick hat uns jeden Tag zum Staunen gebracht. Auf der einen Seite hat man einen wunderschönen Blick auf das Meer und auf der anderen Seite kann man den Etna beim qualmen zusehen, absolut cool! Die Gastgeberin Mara war sehr nett, der Kontakt war unproblematisch und immer sofort zur Stelle. Wir haben einen Abend bei Ihr ein Abendessen gebucht. Wir haben Fisch gewählt und das Essen war absolute Spitzenklasse, jedem neuen Gast würde ich empfehlen einen sizilianischen Abend bei Mara zu buchen! Der Aufenthalt war sehr sehr schön und absolut zu empfehlen :)

Nous avons passé une semaine à villa Maraneve. Malgré qqs soucis d’airco au début, pris en charge rapidement, nous y avons été très bien. Pas grand luxe mais propre et correct. Je recommande.

Belle propriété fonctionnelle avec extérieurs privatifs très agréables, une belle vue sur l'Etna et une piscine de très bonne qualité. Les contacts avec la propriétaire sont faciles et bienveillants. Nous étions 10 et avions bien assez de place.

We stayed here for a family wedding close by. There were 6 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of room. Mara was very helpful and easy to work with. The views are stunning with mount Etna one side and the sea on the other.

We loved Villa Mareneve, and it was the perfect place to stay if you're visiting Sicily. The villa itself is spacious, clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed for a perfect vacation. The bedrooms were all comfortable, the kitchen was fully outfitted, we had plenty of living space, and the pool and grounds were beautiful. Not only that, but we had a beautiful view of Mt. Etna from our patio and the villa is centrally located to great spots like Taormina, Siracusa, Etna, beaches, and other sites. Mara, the caretaker/owner, was terrific and was always available if we needed restaurant or touring suggestions or if we had any requests or questions. It was perfect for our group of 6 adults, and could have comfortably fit more. Our only complaints: the front door is a bit tricky to open (but fine once you learn the trick) and only 7 hours per day of air conditioning is included, though you can purchase additional hours for a reasonable fee. Highly recommended, and many thanks to Mara for helping us experience a truly wonderful vacation.

De villa ligt op een prachtige locatie, mooi uitzicht. Veel ruimte in huis en er omheen. Zwembad was heerlijk.

Das Haus ist wunderschön, man hat zu jeder Zeit Blick auf den etna. Mara kümmert sich toll um jedes Anliegen oder ist einfach nur so da. Die Küche ist optimal ausgestattet. Wir hätten uns lediglich mehr Sonnenschirme gewünscht aber das war alles 🙂

Mara is a fantastic property owner. You could not ask for anyone more attentive and helpful. Unfortunately we had minor medical issues/illnesses for several of the people and Mara went out of her way to make contacts for us and help locate the proper places for help/items. Mara and her mother prepared a wonderful meal for us one night. The property is exactly as described and is spacious and beautiful with a fantastic setting and view. It is right in between Taormina and Catania (about 20 minutes to each place) and near Mt. Etna....about 1 hour 15 minutes from Siracusa. Very near (5 minutes) the Autostrade. at Giarre.

Am Fuß des Etnas mit Blick auf das Meer.... Ein sehr schönes Haus mit einer sehr netten Vermieterin. Gute Ausstattung, drinnen, wie draußen. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten an der Ostküste sind zügig zu erreichen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Ein dickes Danke an Mara!!!

We loved our time at Villa Mareneve. Our host Mara was very sweet and accommodating and it was very convenient having her on the property to assist when needed. The house is just lovely and in the perfect location for exploring the area. The views are breathtaking with the sea on one side and Etna on the other. The beautiful garden made us smile every day with its vibrant colors.

Lovely villa which is set in lovely gardens. Villa is well equipped and was very clean. We were a family of 6 and we all felt it was very spacious both inside and outside. The pool is very big although the weather wasn’t quite good enough for us to enjoy it although the kids had a brief dip! Property is accessed via 2 security gates and set back from the road. It is very private and secluded with stunning views to the sea and to Mount Etna. The local village has supermarkets and other small local shops. It is close to the motorway making getting around very easy. Would highly recommend this villa. All interactions with the owner before arriving and once there were excellent. Very friendly and welcoming.
