love the location. you can see the sunset from the pool or your patio and it’s the best view you can get. You are away from the crowd. There’s always a nice breeze and views all day long are spectacular. nice pool that is never crowded. you’re a short walk downhill to some fun restaurants right on the water. If you do a sunset cruise, the boats finish just below the hotel, so you can just walk home when it’s done. Staff was amazing! They were friendly and helped us anytime we needed anything.

No shower curtain or door so the floor outside gets wet. NOT a deal breaker.

the hotel is in a perfect location for the sunset. the bed and linen was very comfortable. the bathroom toiletries were very nice. the staff are very friendly.

the stairs to get to the hotel may be an issue.

Such a beautiful property with amazing views !! Clean and gorgeous. Loved that there was a lot of space all hotel guests had access to - like the pool and front desk area.

Be warned the views come at a cost - the staff was amazing about coordinating porters to help with our luggage but going to and from this hotel can be tricky with all of the steps. The way down is VERY slick and tennis shoes offered the worst traction. We ended up beginning to take our shoes off and walk down which seemed to be safest. Wouldnt recommend for any older folks that may have a fall risk.

The room is not what you except. It doesn’t state is only for very small skinny people. Ridiculous small. I couldn’t fit up the stairs. I am 120 pounds. Not big at all but is just for very tiny people.

Great location. Excellent breakfast. The jacuzzi and pool with sunset view is everything.

There’s nothing I didn’t like. The only thing is that booking.com says free airport shuttle and apparently it is not accurate but the hotel provided free transportation anyway.

Unique experience with really genuine loving people . First of all many thanks to all the staff at the Old Castle Oia Location is perfect for sunset viewing and the Jacuzzi at the right temperature all day. The service was excellent and the hotel staff was very nice and made our stay really comfortable . The breakfast is excellent and was brought right to our room at the time we wanted. We asked for a late checkout and they made it possible for us .Especially Many thanks to ‘Bianca’ the lovely lady in the reception. Really enjoyed our stay and will hopefully be back again.

Nothing I could fault

The location and sunsets - you can’t put a price on it. The swimming pool at the top has breathtaking view and most of the facilities are exceptional. I would recommend this hotel for everybody. One of the best hotels I have stayed at.

For that price of money I would have liked that the big pool would be heated for when you arrive in “off season” and colder temperatures. But I’m maybe spoiled in Iceland with all the heated swimming pools. We had the only room that had a pool inside and there was a window that was open (without glass). You were supposed to be able to close the glass door, but the wall closure was ruined so you were not able too. The shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and etc were in a small bottles. The sticker on the bottles was hard to read. It seemed like they were re using the bottles, just filling them up. For the price we paid I expected everything to be perfect.

Breakfast was good; would have enjoyed more options for egg preparation & pastries

The hot tub wasn’t really “hot” by N. American standards. I would have enjoyed soaking in a May ch more heated jacuzzi.

Excellent location, terrific breakfast. Although the stairs and walkways can be quite steep in this area of Oia, just take your time and enjoy every step. The views are awesome.

Breakfast was varied and tasty, fresh orange juice a nice touch, stunning views of the sunset from our balcony, free upgrade upon arrival with jacuzzi facing the sunset. Incredible views from the infinity pool, definately the best place on the whole island to view the sunset and of the little harbour below which is lit up at night. Room was cleaned every day and the superking bed was extremely comfy. Very friendly and helpful host Bianca , highly recommend this hotel.Thank you for having us it really made my 50th special!!

The jacuzzi and main pool were a bit too cold, but we did go in September and the temperature dropped a bit whilst we were there.

The property location is beautiful, incredible sunset views, very clean rooms and the staff was amazing! Bianca and Sophia were so thoughtful, above and beyond expectations in all matters! Thank you!
