Fabulous villa in a very picturesque location. 4 a/c bedrooms, 3 of which are en-suite and 1 with a bathroom next door. Everything you might need was provided. Kids loved the pool which was exceptionally clean and very warm as we caught the tail end of the heat wave in Southern Europe. Villa enjoys direct access to the beach which is rocky, with sand about 50m along from the villa gate where pedalos, paddle boards and kayaks were available to rent. Owner very helpful and provided lots of info about the villa and the local area which helped us plan our week. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at this villa. We stayed as 2 families of four and the villa itself was superbly equipped. The beach front location is perfect and the restaurants of Santo Tomas are an easy stroll along the promenade. Being able to walk out of the and go for a dip in the sea really was something special. The owner Alistair was very responsive and we would have no hesitancy in recommending the villa to others and we have high standards, We very much hope to return again.

This is a return visit to this lovely villa so that speaks for itself! Beautifully equipped villa with everything you could possibly need supplied. Air conditioning in all the bedrooms, clean throughout with ample space. The pool is nice and private and spotless, being attended to regularly throughout the stay. We took a lovely walk along the promenade every morning for coffee and every evening to one of the lovely restaurants. We took a walk to Son Bou this year which was great and had lovely meal when we got there but be warned it is quite a trek with no facilities on route! Overall if you are after a relaxing, beachside family holiday in a well equipped villa, this is for you. Great wifi too to please the teenages! :)

We chose this house because it was so close to the beach. It isn't directly on the sandy part but it is only a few minutes walk. The house itself felt a little dated but there was enough room for the 7 of us and it was very clean. The aircon in the bedrooms was very good and they were all nice and cool. However the rest of the house got very hot on the hottest days. The pool was lovely and a nice temperature with a fabulous outlook. I'm not sure I would be relaxed taking a toddler with the very different up and down levels of the patio. The seating area makes an excellent evening bbq place where we saw some great sunsets. The hotel next door does get a bit noisy, especially on Saturday evenings and Sundays but the rest of the time it is pretty quiet. Santo Thomas is very small and there is not a huge choice of restaurants, but we found we didn't have far to drive to find more. The few shops are very touristy but we were not there to shop. Having said that it is very close to the Mascaro shoe outlet factory which is excellent.

We were travelling as a four generation family from ages 2-79 and every single one of us were gutted to leave the villa! Hornblower is perfect for families, being right on the beach is great and the pool was warm from the sun and our 5 year old literally played in it all day. Rooms are all large, clean and well equipped. Alastair has thought of everything and Miguel was around most days to check the pool and everything else was fine. Es Pins is by far the best restaurant in our opinion and well worth the 10 min stroll along the beach walk. We all loved Hornblower and hope to be back next year!

Villa exceeded our expectations, very well equipped magnificent setting ideal for family with small children.santo Tomas is a really wonderful resort not too busy but just the right amount of amenities, the most relaxing holiday for all of our family.

Hornblower was all we hoped it to be an more. Travelled with family ages ranging from 22 to 83. The property was extremely well equipped with attention to detail and fabulous views. The villa was spotlessly clean on arrival as was the pool. Location brilliant within easy walking distance of a selection of bars and restaurants. The owner was extremely helpful. We hope to visit again - would have loved to have stayed for much longer than a week. We have already recommended Hornblower to our friends.

We first stayed in Santo Tomas 34 years ago with two small children. We came back and stayed in a hotel for an anniversary. We came back again with family and grandchildren and stayed in two villas ,two years on the run. Then this year we stayed in Hornblower. A villa virtually on the beach, a pool warmed by the sun all day, a lovely interior with all you require, shade when needed, restaurants in an easy stroll, paradise indeed. The owner was easily contactable and answered all questions. As my grandson said on landing at Gatwick "can we go back tomorrow Grandma".? A sentiment held by us all! Thanks, Alistair

We stayed at Hornblower House with another family of four this August. The villa was very well equipped with a fabulous Weber barbecue making self-catering a doddle. The villa itself is a great size for two families and well laid out. The pool was a decent size and we were a stone's throw from a clean, sandy beach with warm, crystal clear water - shallow enough for the children to paddle and swim safely. The seafront promenade running from one end of Santo Tomas to the other was a particular delight - especially at night when it was illuminated. Overall, the location was perfect for an easy relaxed holiday with kids.

A lovely villa situated as close to the beach as you can get. Within easy reach of several shops for food and beverage and plenty of restaurants within walking distance if you don't feel like cooking. Lovely walks along the side of the beach both during the day and evening and the sea is very safe. Overall, for anyone wanting a holiday villa next to a beach this is ideal.

We (two families) stayed at Hornblower in late June/early July 2015. Location is stunning. Right on the promenade/beach but with the patio/pool area sufficiently raised/screened to keep it private, we had a wonderful time alternating between swimming in the pool, running along the promenade, and jumping in the blue sea. There were lots of envious glances from those staying in nearby hotels as the wandered past in the evening. Everything is within walking distance and a handy hotel next door for a quick lunch. Aircon in the bedrooms was a godsend given how hot this summer has been (Menorca, not UK!). Location and views are first class and we wouldn't hesitate to come back.

A lovely villa, well equipped, clean and beautifully situated on the sandy beach.We enjoyed a relaxing week and spent a lot of the time in the pool or on the beach under the umbrellas that are available for daily hire along with kayaks or pedaloes. Varied food at the local beach restaurant, Es Brucs, well frequented by locals and good choice of nearby supermarkets and cafes--all very friendly. We have been spoilt for future villa holidays....thank you.

The villa itself exceeded expectations. It was very well-equipped, especially for families, very clean and pleasantly decorated and furnished. The air con was much appreciated as was the shaded awning outside. However, it is the location of this villa that makes it outstanding - just a few steps to the relatively quiet beach with clear sea and within easy walking distance of a small number of restaurants. The pool was so warm the kids played in it for ours and the resort itself feels very safe. We all felt very relaxed and wished we owned such a fabulous villa! We will definitely return at some point in the future.

Stayed in this villa with our grandson, daughter and her partner. We had a lovely holiday in this well equipped, superbly situated property that is well maintained and had nice extra touches like pool toys, board games and DVD's. Our grandson loved the pool and the hop, skip and a jump to the beach! We ate out each evening and had no problem in finding good restaurants within easy walking distance. We did hire a car for the week but hardly used it as we had no real need to leave Santo Tomas. We can highly recommend this property and would love to return in the future.

This was our second stay at the Hornblower and once again we had a fabulous stay. If anything the villa was even more geared-up to accommodate us than last year. It is equipped with everything you could possibly need and I think I'm right in saying that the air conditioning units have been replaced since our last stay and are super quiet and effective. We mainly ate out at the two places at either end of the front, Es Pins and Es Bruc and neither disappointed. Both venues have friendly waiters that will look after you and share a joke. I would have no reservations in recommending this villa to anyone, especially when the beach and sea are just a hop, skip and a jump away. Enjoy.

This is a fab beachside villa, santo Tomas is a quiet area with some great eateries & beautiful sea views. The mini markets are adequate.The villa was a great size for us, we were 4 adults & 5 children aged between 2-6yrs. There are a number of steps and levels around the outside area, but it was never slippery & the children managed these fine. There is a drop on the side of the pool, but again this didn't cause any problems, although slightly smaller than some pools, it's a great depth for family jumping in & playing. The owners communication & responses has been spot on. Taxi from the airport was under €40. After sun-down listening to the sound of the waves while watching shooting stars on the patio with a G&T, great adult time! We hired a car for one day to visit a water park, well worth it & only €53, with free child seats, from 'owners cars' (walking distance from the villa to their office) it was significantly cheaper than the others locally. For a safe, beach location this villa is perfect, we all had a wonderful week.

It's often too good to be true when a holiday accommodation is described as just a stone's throw from the beach. But in this case it really is. Litrerally open the garden gate, cross a footpath and navigate a small flight of steps and you are on a wonderful beach with warm, crystal clear, shallow sea. Absolutely ideal for kids and adults alike. The Villa itself is generously appointed and is lacking nothing. There are plenty of Bathrooms so getting ready to go out isn't a problem. The Kitchen is fully equipped and even has a filtered cold water tap which saves on buying as much bottled water. The sunken Lounge is a nice feature although maybe not 100% child friendly. It does present an excellent viewing area with a large TV and a good selection of English channels. The wifi coverage was brilliant and we could even pick it up in the seating area at the foot of the garden.. The swimming pool is pleasant size and kept our kids entertained for many hours. The removable pool guards are also a reassuring feature. There are several areas to locate outside, whether it be under the shaded awning; where we tended to eat or lying in the full sun on a sunbed or sat on the particularly comfy rattan furniture. There are several places to eat, but we found Es Pins to be our favourite. If you turn left after leaving the garden gate and walk along the footpath it is the last restaurant. Not too far to walk but long enough to walk off the fabulous fresh food. If you are looking for a quiet, friendly and relaxing location there is no better place than this.

A fantastic villa with everything you need for a wonderful holiday. Spacious, light and airy and very well equipped. As fantastic as the villa itself is, it's real beauty is its location. Step onto the patio and you will be thrilled by the view of the ocean beyond. Walk down the corridor from the bedrooms in the morning to be greeted by a spectacular view of boats bobbing on an azure sea against a powder blue sky. Have a swim in the perfectly warm pool, climb out and step onto the beautiful white sandy beach with gentle waves and shallow bathing or great snorkelling. Fancy a spot of lunch? Wander for a few minutes to buy something to prepare in the well equipped kitchen or step onto the promenade that runs behind the villa along the beach. Turn left or right and within 2 mins you will be at a lovely open air beach restaurant. A BBQ by the pool at sunset is a must or head out for tapas in the nearby town of Es Mijorn. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday is on your doorstep. Buses and taxis can take you further afield if you desire or if you have a hire car, there is ample parking on the private driveway. The owner has built a great team of local staff to ensure that everything runs smoothly. The villa was very clean upon arrival and the unobtrusive presence of Miguel for pool and other maintenance was reassuring that this villa is maintained to the highest standards and that someone is on hand if you need them. Communication with the owner before, during and after the rental has been superb. All resulting in a wonderful and unforgettable holiday.

Fantastic Villa in a fantastic location, there are only 8 Villa's on the seafront in the whole of Sant Tomas and this is one of them so if you like the idea of walking out your back gate onto a golden sandy south facing beach this is the Villa for you, accurately described yet the pictures don't do it justice especially in terms of the location. The pool is a good size with a safety gate for young kids if you want it. The pool and sun lounge area overlooks the beach but has enough plants coupled with its slight elevation to the footpath beyond to give you complete privacy without losing the view. The footpath will be very popular for those of you who like to go for leisurely strolls. Especially after sunset. The property was very clean, nice decor, great kitchen and a smart sunken lounge with large flat screen TV which the kids used for watching movies in the evening whilst the adults chilled outside under the stars. We used our ipad with apple TV connected (which we brought with us) to stream the movies to the TV but there is a PS3 available if you have regular DVD's or Blu-Ray films. All 4 bedrooms have air conditioning and 3 of them were En Suite which was great. There is an outdoor shower for when returning from the beach. We ate outside under the canopy and did not use the indoor dining table at all then at night we pulled the canopy back to chill under the stars with some beverages. Chilling under the stars was a personal highlight for me especially with all the shooing stars you see in August for the Perseids. Temperatures are still in the mid 20's at night but you don't feel hot or humid after you acclimatise. The owner Alistair was very helpful whenever we asked questions and the whole process from enquiry, to booking, to payment and during the holiday itself went smoothly without any issues or concerns cropping up. It could not have gone better in fact so anyone worried about booking directly for the 1st time I would say you will have no issues with the formalities. If you want nightlife & a party atmosphere this is not the place for you but if you want to relax in luxury whilst still having amenities within walking distance then this is as good as it gets. The hotel complexes provide evening activities nearby which is great for the kids in the evening but during the day our kids where happy in the pool and beach. I definitely recommend this Villa and intend to come back at some point in the future.
