Overall, this property had all the makings of excellent. The owners were available and responsive by text and the house was well set up with everything we needed. It would have been a perfect stay if it hadn't been for the noise of the outdoor attached awnings at night. Whenever the wind blew, which unfortunately was often, the awnings made so much noise it was difficult to get any sleep in either of the bedrooms. We did let the owners know, and hope they have taken down the awnings for future renters. If so, I highly recommend this property.

Absolutely perfect place to stay for a trip to Joshua Tree. We went here for my wife’s birthday and it had everything we needed. I loved that their fully stocked kitchen even allowed me to make her a birthday cake! Also the location is amazing, only a couple miles from the Twenty-Nine Palms entrance to Joshua Tree (which I think is the best entrance). I definitely would recommend to anyone who is looking for a place near the park. Also excellent communication from the hosts.

cute and convenient space

This house was the perfect size for our family of three (although it could of slept 2 additional children). It was well decorated and fully stocked with all the comforts of home. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a family dinner. The bathroom had soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels ect. They also had a very useful welcome book illustrated by a local artist with information on hikes and restaurants in the area. Coming from an artistic background ourselves we really appreciated this detail. Its also is a short drive to the Joshua Tree National Park North entrance. Mark and Lyanne were prompt and friendly with their communications. Overall we had a fantastic experience and would love to go back!

This is our second time staying at the M&L Cottage and it was as great as the first. We love this place, super nice, super quiet and just down the hill from the magnificent Joshua Tree National Park. Mark and Lyanne go out of their way to make sure everything is set before you get there and their customer service is perfect. Looking forward to returning soon.

We loved our stay in your JT home. We are a family of five and it was enough for us. We took our mornings slow, enjoyed our cup of coffee and breakfast. The location was so convenient to the north entrance of park... which we explored every day of our 5 day stay... my only suggestion is some facecloths and dishcloths. I would highly recommend it to anyone heading there.

Spent 2 nights during our tour of JTNP. Clean and well-kept. Not fancy, but very nice. We needed to check-out in the afternoon and the owners accomodated. Good stay. Fair price.

This is a small but comfortable cottage that is very close to a major entrance to Joshua Tree NP. The kitchen was well equipped and the bed and living room very comfortable. We encountered one unexpected issue and the owner was very responsive, dealing with it quickly and appropriately.

We found the house easily and were welcomed by the warm, cozy atmosphere. It had everything we needed! Best of all the location afforded easy access to Joshua Tree Park. I'd gladly stay here again!

We enjoyed everything from the record player to watching the stars from the hammocks. We enjoyed the kitchen so much we decided to make dinner every night instead of eating out and we loved watching movies on Netflix. We came mostly for the park and we were so close to the entrance and the information center! It was our first vacation away from our families and work and it really set the bar for all future vacations.

My sister and I just spent 5 days hiking in Joshua Tree. This rental is minutes from the Visitors Center and the eastside park entrance. Mark + Lyanne were quick to respond when we needed something - so kind and very helpful. Their cottage was the perfect home away from home. The house is clean, cozy, and beautifully remodeled - and it's clear that a lot of thought has gone into what folks like/need on vacation. From the hammocks out front, the sweet record player in the living room, and hands down ... the best stocked kitchen I've ever cooked in on vacation! After hiking around in the hot sun all day, this cottage was a treat to come home to. We are already planning a trip back!

Kids loved the hammocks. Dishes, pots, pans, coffee maker - it was all there and working well. The locally-roasted coffee beans provided a nice treat! Enjoyed the record player and variety of music.

If you’re planning on spending time in the national park, this rental is perfect. It’s a few minutes from an entrance to a less trafficked part of the park, which we found ideal. The interior is very cozy and comfortable. Well stocked, great tv, comfy mattress in the main bedroom, nicely renovated throughout. Only thing that could use a little work is the backyard - I’m guessing they will get around to landscaping it more... the front yard is very nicely done. For the price, this is an excellent value!

Modern, clean home with great instructions and books to help guide exploring Joshua Tree. We enjoyed breakfasts on the outdoor table in the backyard and at night we sat around the gas fire pit in the backyard and watched the stars. Owners were very responsive to messages and helpful throughout.

This was one of the most comfortable, cosy holiday rentals we have stayed in. Everything you could wish for and more have been thought of, it is beautifully decorated, very well located, and very clean. I was already looking forward to our stay; Lyanne was so friendly, helpful, informative, and quick to reply to all my queries. I have already recommended this cottage, and would definitely stay again! Thank you Lyanne!

We absolutely loved the desert cottage! It was so warm, cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was perfectly stocked which made it so easy to prepare meals. The owners definitely put great thought into every detail of the house. The proximity to the park was ideal, we made several trips to and from the park throughout our stay. Overall it was a wonderful experience for my whole family.

This place is a real gem! Location was ideal, easy entrance into Joshua Tree! Very comfortable, decorated so cute! The kitchen was fully loaded with everything needed, I loved preparing meals in there for my family. My teens loved the hammocks, chilled in them every morning while I was having my coffee. Would highly recommend this cottage to everyone and hope to come back again and again!
