Clean and new house.

I can't praise this place, or our host, enough. It was a such a fantastic find and perfect for us as a family of 5 wanting to explore the bay of Kotor. We were so lucky to chance upon this apartment. It was recently built, immaculately clean, spacious, well appointed with a great kitchen, utility room and an ample bathroom. The living area was really comfortable - a home from home - with plenty of space for 5 adults, and prettily decorated. The master bedroom had a very comfortable king sized bed, great A/C and a huge wardrobe. A spiral staircase from the hallway lead up to a mezzanine area where 3 single beds were placed and were comfortable for siblings to stay. There were small touches throughout the apartment that made for a really top stay (a surprise hairdryer in the bathroom drawer - much appreciated by the Mrs! - tea lights and matches for an al fresco supper, a brand new coffee maker on request, drinks and home made cakes in the fridge on arrival). The best feature was the breathtaking view! There were huge picture windows that looked out over the bay of Kotor. Coupled with the terrace where we sat out to enjoy a 'sundowner' it made for a spectacular end to the day (or indeed to enjoy breakfast watching the changing light as the morning sun came up). To finish, the village of Orahovac sits at the top far right of Kotor Bay away from the crowds and traffic of Kotor town but is a quick drive to all the lovely spots around the bay so it is really well located. The village bay sits below the mountains and has wonderfully clean, clear water with a gently sloping shore. The host's family run the nearby beach bar and restaurant and they were superbly welcoming and friendly. It's a truly special place, a little like going back in time for simple but fabulous pleasures - with beach, mountain trail walks, beautiful historic towns and the most charming people, it was a wonderful stay.

Finding the apartment was a little tricky as there is no signage and the road is narrow and winding, and busy at certain times, but there is space to park immediately outside the building. Stop at the local shop and ask for directions if need be, apart from having everything that you might need at good prices and they are very friendly and helpful! Or make arrangements with the host before arriving through booking.com - he is extremely helpful and keen to make sure your stay is just as you'd wish. We loved our time there and hope to return one day.
