A true place with modern amenities but feels like you are at the end of the world. Great for unplugging and family time!

We loved the quiet, the privacy, the sound of the Loons, and the stunning views of the lake. We couldn't quite see the sunset at this time of year, but if you hop in the kayak and go about 50 yards, you get a great view! I paddled for a couple of hours up the lake and there was a lot of natural beauty, unlike other more developed lakes. Everything was as mentioned in the listing. It was clean, well stocked with firewood, charcoal, everything but food and beach towels (at least I didn't see any). There are 2 kayaks (one is a tandem) and a paddle board. The master bed is extremely firm so if you have a queen pad, you might want to bring it. Would go back in a heartbeat.

We had a beautiful stay. It met all our expectations! The people in town were very friendly. We would recommend this place and hope to be back.

The property was just perfect for our family of 4. We enjoyed the lake morning, noon & night. IF I had to find something to improve upon it would be the washer/dryer unit. For our active family over 8 days, cleaning towels and clothes was essential. The unit was small and time-consuming. But such a small factor in the big picture. We had a blast and would recommend the property to others without hesitation.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location. Listened to Loons and enjoyed the lake and mountain vistas. We went for a long kayak and saw some fantastic shoreline.

This location was AMAZING. The beauty of the lake out of the windows and French doors was exceptional. The cabin could not have been more welcoming, clean, well appointed or right out of a design magazine. It would be just what we would want to own and would never leave. Will be visiting again and staying longer. Thank you for sharing this wonderful, peaceful, beautiful place with us.

Sheperd's cabin is a very cozy log cabin. The location right on the lake is just incredible. If you are looking for a quiet place this is it. It was very clean and had everything you needed. The washing machine was also a plus. Unfortunately we could not use the kayaks because it was raining and cold. We would stay here again anytime.

We really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was perfectly set up. It was close to town without being too far away. We were there for the Fly In and enjoyed watching the seaplanes from the dock. Thank you for the use of the kayaks. We had a lovely stay.

This property should be named paradise in the woods. It was everything it was supposed to be . There were no surprises or let downs . Just pure relaxation at its best.

We loved our stay at Shepard's Cabin. The unit was clean and well stocked. The dirt road was in good condition (Aug 2022) and navigation via directions provided by Vacasa / Owner were perfect. Caught one fish and had quite a few bites casting off the swimmers dock. Fully enjoyed the remote location at the base of Burnt Jacket Mountain. Only 30 min drive to Downtown Greenville. Local hiking trails and sightseeing is easily accessible. Can not wait to go back!

This is a special place in a perfect location. My wife and I, and our 2 daughters just spent a week, and it was just what we needed. Highly recommend.

If you are looking for a place to get away from the rush of everyday life, this is the place. I LOVED the decor of the cabin, pictures don't do it justice. So cute! Be aware, it is a drive from Greenville, about 20 minutes or so. I recommend you get there the first time during daylight. It was dark and rainy when we arrived the first time and we had difficulty finding the place. They had a big storm that day and we literally had to move fallen trees out of the road to get there - thankfully they were light enough we could do it on our own. Bring plenty of groceries because you won't want to leave once you get there.

This cabin is a definite stay again! It was the perfect getaway! Quiet, relaxing with all the amenities. Check-in was very easy. Host was responsive. There’s not a better location on Moosehead!!

This cabin was charming, cozy, clean and so unique. The local staff was so helpful. The place was warm and welcoming when we arrived. We will be back!

Great relaxing week
Great stay, beautiful property, bed was uncomfortable and the outside door to master bedroom tough to open. Aside from that perfect vacation experience. Make sure television works before clients come. Our HDMI cord was missing so no tv all week but was credited by Vacasa so we were fine with it but guests with kids might not be. All and all great vacation experience and would do it again

Beautiful retreat on the lake
The cabin was spotless upon arrival and had everything you could ever want or need. The decor was perfect and made us feel welcome immediately. Being on the lake afforded us the opportunity to listen to the loons and watch amazing sunsets, as well as beautiful views of the mountains.

Magical
What an amazing place, in a picturesque setting. My first visit to Moosehead Lake, and I think it sets the bar high for vacation rentals. The layout of the cabin was spacious yet still had that cozy feel. I can’t wait to rent it again.

Luxury in the Back Woods
We needed to unwind and needed to hear loons and watch the water and hear the wind in the pines. But we wanted a beautiful kitchen - big windows - and WiFi. This is the perfect cabin to get away from the stress but not the amenities of every day life. We loved our time here.

Secluded Gem!
I’ve been coming up here for 33 years and this was by far the best spot of them all. I couldn’t get the WiFi working, but I don’t come up here to stare at a screen. We will be back soon!!! Thank you for an amazing home!!!

Absolute treasure
What a fantastic property. Beautiful and clean cabin. The photos looked great but in person it’s amazing. Great access to the water and we got full use out of the kayaks. One of the most peaceful places I’ve visited. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!!!

Great location and well equipped!
The cabin was well decorated, clean and comfortable. It was great having access to the kayaks, dock and fire pit. Added bonus were the sunsets from the deck. We will be back!!

Shepards Cabin
This cabin is the best. After 3 nights we ended up extending our trip for a couple more nights. Right on the lake we were able to ice fish and warm up back inside the cabin. We definitely plan to rent again.

BEAUTIFUL!!!
We just spent 5 days here and it was amazing!!! I am in awe of how beautiful Moosehead and the areas around it are beyond what I imagined. The cabin was wonderful, cozy, peaceful, clean and in a PERFECT location. The views from the property are amazing. We enjoyed the kayaks, sitting out by the lake and soaking it all in. I wish we could have stayed forever!!! I couldn't get over how many trees there are and how massive the lake is. It goes on forever!!!! We enjoyed an afternoon out on the Katahdin looking at endless miles of the Lake and the surrounding Mountains. Memories I will remember for a lifetime. Thank you for sharing your amazing cabin with us.

Gorgeous Setting...
When I opened the door all I could say was “wow”! The decor is so well done. I loved the type of construction used in this log cabin. Very classy. I like rustic too but this was a nice departure with the art and lighting, troth sink, vintage look range, beautiful furniture. I don’t usually cook when I stay at vacation rentals but I loved this kitchen so much I went back into town to buy ingredients so I could. Put on tunes and really enjoyed the experience. The view is gorgeous. I loved the dirt roads coming in to Shepherds Cabin. Reminded me of childhood camping/fishing trips. A tranquil, relaxing stay.
