Loved this property the home was Perfect for 2 couples very private and the views were breathtaking… minutes from Mendocino and Fort Bragg! Would def stay there again!

Two of us spent a weekend at The Frolic and plan to return for a longer stay. The property and location are idyllic; the house is clean, comfortable, and well provisioned; and interactions with the management were friendly and efficient. Everything was as pictured, including the amazing views from the house and hot tub. We will be back! One note for late risers: housecleaning arrived promptly at checkout time.

It was a glorious, relaxing week in Mendocino. The frolic house had everything we wanted- privacy, beautiful views, close proximity to everything. The house was clean, spacious, equipped With everything we needed. The hot tub at the end of a meandering wooden path with ocean views was sublime. It was warm and cozy with two fireplaces. We cooked almost every day and loved the location. We will be back.

The beds were command everything was clean. The only issues were that the spa was out of service and one of the showers had no temperature control - only full hot or full cold. The master bedroom has a wall of windows facing west and a sliding glass door facing south, so there is a great view of the ocean. Unlike some of the other houses in the overall neighbourhood, this house does not get light from the lighthouse, which for me is a great benefit because I have a hard time sleeping through the light circling constantly. The second bedroom also has a wall of windows facing west and has a great view. The living room/dining area is just like the bedrooms - lots of windows so you can see the ocean from where you sit. The kitchen is nicely laid out, with a good selection of pots and pans, dishes and glasses. There's a back bonus room with a tv and comfortable seating.There are two Adirondack chairs on the front porch, which catches the morning sun. It's a nice place to read and eat breakfast and has a nice view of a meadow adjoining the lighthouse. The back porch also has outdoor seating, but it was mostly windy in the late afternoons, so I didn't sit outside. Hot tub is nice little walk on boarded walkway and has a full ocean view below. It rained while I was there, but that never bothers me because I come from a cold environment and it simply seems like spring or fall to me, and I only stay in when the rain is coming down sideways. It simply doesn't get any better than this and I can't wait for my next visit.

If arriving after sunset have a great flashlight because otherwise place is so obscure can create logistics issue. That’s good for a peaceful stay though once found. Management company really attentive especially Duff! Experienced a power outtage due to a major storm during the stay and afterwards noted neighbors all seemed prepared with generators but this property doesn’t supply a generator. Odd considering the area according to the locals gets outtages quite a bit ... aside from that the overall stay was peaceful, private, and relaxing.

The views are incredible - a private oasis. The decor and furnishings are an eclectic mix of Asian inspired, modern, and rustic. We had everything we needed except cell service, but I did not mind. We saw and heard all kinds of woodland creatures (coyotes, deer, racoon, skunk, birds...) and were able to whale watch from the deck. Sitting in the spa at night and listening to the waves crash and break is truly relaxing. My only critique is that while stocked with plenty of firewood, there was no fire starter/kindling, and the fireplaces were "not ready to go" as described. Also, while clean and tidy, it was in need of a deep clean (cobwebs) and the white draw shades are in need of cleaning or replacement. However, none of this took away from an amazing time. Close to Mendocino, short walk to the Lighthouse, and a quick drive to Fort Bragg. I will definitely stay here again.

Great house with gorgeous views. However we had no hot water for the first 18 hours. Problematic. Bedding smelled dirty and bed pillows in master were yellow under the pillowcases. Not sure i would stay here again for those reasons.

The Frolic is an amazing home that we are so greatful the owners would share with us. The place is right on the ocean. The Point Cabrillo lighthouse state park is connected to the property with access trails. There was a hot tub right on the ocean which we watched the sunset from every night. The home has a beautiful ocean cabin feel with all the needed amenities for a wonderful stay. Views, views, and more views. Unforgettable views. Check in/out process was easy with the Rental management company located a short drive away in the wonderful small town of Mendocino. We enjoyed our stay so much we will be back next year for sure. Thank you for sharing this wonderful location with us. Such a beautiful home, and such a great place to unwind, relax, and just let the crashing sound of the ocean melt away the daily grind.

My brother, his wife and I meet up every year at the same time for a vacation together at the coast. This year was even more exciting because I didn't come out last year due to Covid. The Frolic was beautiful with the right touch of whimsy. The weather was perfect. Some of the days we didn't leave the house the view was so spectacuar .
