Everything at this house is amazing. They had everything you could need for great family trip. The beach is a very short walk away. The hosts were great and easy to contact. We will definitely stay here again next chance he get.

We loved this house! It was a great location - about a 5 minute walk to the beach and also a short walk to the Black Currant Bakehouse for morning coffee. The house is so well designed and comfortable. We loved sitting in the backyard by the fire pit and on the hammock. The grill is great. The beds were comfortable and the bedding great! The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed! We were 7 and fit comfortably in the house. We had everything we needed including beach chairs and towels and a wagon to get it all to the beach. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to come back!

A very comfortable cottage, well decorated and stocked with everything you need in the kitchen and throughout the house. The gardens surrounding the cottage were absolutely lovely at the beginning of August. Very short walk to great beach - soft sand and lovely vistas. The only caveat in the house might be that the stairs to go to the second floor are old and very shallow so anyone that is a bit unsteady may find them a challenge. As for the beach, the public area is fine, but it is bordered on both sides by prominent signs that read "Private Beach!" I don't think I have ever seen that posting before. We were a family of four adults and one four year old child and there was enough to do in the surrounding area. If you need a day trip, St. Joseph has a wonderful carousel and lots of shops and restaurants. p.s. the bakery in Union Pier is amazing and the hosts give a lot of restaurant information in a packet in the house.

Absolutely lovely house within minutes of one of, if not, the best beach in the area. Wonderfully appointed home that has everything you need for a perfect beach trip. Room for the whole family, of all ages. Fantastic hosts, don’t pass this one up!

Amazing location and property. The place had ample beds for kids, and the trundle setup on the top floor is excellent. Between beach chairs, wagon, and sand toys - we truly didn’t want for much during our stay! Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

Lovely home, perfect for a comfortable stay.

We returned just yesterday from our wonderful stay at Susan and Victor’s cottage. My young adult sons, my brother, and I gathered to celebrate my milestone birthday. And it was all we hoped for. Everything was just so…easy. Susan responded in record time to my one or two initial questions. The kitchen is impressively stocked. . . I didn’t need to bring most of the kitchen supplies I packed! And Susan was kind enough to let me “borrow” a few peppers from her lovely garden for our dinners. The layout was perfect for us and allowed for both privacy and generous common areas to spend time together. One of my sons had a few remote meetings — the upstairs front bedroom has a little nook with a desk that was perfect for him, with a strong WiFi connection, too. Other reviewers mentioned kind touches such as complimentary toiletries. Or the best of both worlds — proximity to the beach as well as a feeling of privacy from the mature trees that provided a buffer from any sounds from neighbors. But, for us, the icing on the cake was the back area — one of the best fire pits I’ve found, and a back yard that’s large enough for silly grownups to play a little frisbee. Thank you so much, Susan and Victor. You made my 65th birthday one of the most memorable ones of my life, for both me and my family.

Our multi-generation family enjoyed this property. The cottage was well equipped with everything we could need. The beach is a short walk away. The cottage is well stocked with beach equipment including chairs, umbrellas, toys and even a wagon to haul it all! We hope to stay at this cottage again!

We spent a week in August and have only good things to say. The location is a 5 minute walk to McKinley beach which is quieter than other beaches, and the house has everything- chairs, umbrellas, laundry detergent, paper towels, cable- it’s all there. We didn’t cook but it’s a fully equipped kitchen. This is a perfect spot for a relaxing beach vacation!

We had the most wonderful week at Susan and Victor's cottage. This was a family trip to meet up with other relatives in the area before a wedding. The cottage is super cute, bright and fresh and very comfortable and roomy - enough to have all the family over for dinner one evening. We didn't want for anything. The kitchen was VERY well supplied. There was plenty of space for my daughter and her husband to work remotely and still feel like they were on holiday. The wifi was perfect. We loved the porches in the front and back. There was space to squirrel yourself away to work or read or to be with the family in the main area. Loved all the flowers and the herbs in the garden too and the picture perfect arbor and picket fence. It was so warm we didn't use the firepit, but we'd love to another time. Our daughter and her husband had their own upstairs area and we had the downstairs bedroom and bathroom - so everyone had their privacy. But there would be room for our other daughter and the grandkids too. We hope we can return with them all next year as they would love it. Super easy walk to the beautiful beach. Really, everything was thought of - beach chairs, a cart to take your things to the beach, towels, and it wasn't just that they were supplied, everything was so nicely done and beachy. I think we will have some competition from other family members to rent it next year, because everyone loved it. Thanks for sharing it!

Lovely accommodations with attention to the smallest detail for comfort, from the fairies hiding on front porch ceiling shelf to the new butterfly garden to the fluffy towels wrapped just so in coordinating baskets. Can’t wait to return!

We had a great family get away at the Three Gems! The cottage is located on a quiet street just a few minutes walk to the beach and also a short walk to the Black Currant bakery. The cottage has a nice layout with many different spaces which made it more fun to spend some time in the cottage to have dinner, play games and listen to the birds on the patio. The beds were comfortable. The bed linen, pillows and decorations are new and nicely selected. Susan and Victor were easy to reach. A wonderful stay overall!

We loved our stay at the cottage. The gardens are beautiful and the kitchen had every utensil a cook would need. The location and proximity to the beach can’t be beat!

This is our second stay at Three Gems and our stay the first time was so wonderful the first time, we were excited to get back. We have 2 little kids and the place is very accommodating with games, beach toys, and plenty of space for them to be by themselves. We had a wonderful time and would recommend for any family vacationers.

We loved staying here! The distance from Chicago is perfect and it’s located near New Buffalo and other shops, breweries, etc. If you want to explore. You could arrive with just clothes and head to the Barney’s in New Buffalo to pick up anything and everything else you would need. The house itself was so clean and perfect for our extended family. Nice easy walk to the beach and we loved the fire pit out back for the chilly nights. The host is super and very responsive. Had beach gear, towels, etc. all ready for us. We loved it and would definitely stay again!

We were very pleased with the house, communication and all the extra details. We have rented vacation homes for 25 years and are use to bringing toiletries and pantry supplies, but that was supplied at this cottage. Very very pleased with locationand the layout of the house. I would rent again.

The home had everything we needed. The kids loved going to Izzy’s Bean and Gelato for delicious gelato, so we went several nights – it’s just a mile away. And we also enjoyed the Pumpernickel Inn, which has a great breakfast and lunch menu. The best part of the cottage is it’s close proximity to the beautiful, sandy beach, which is just a block away down a shady path. The water is clean and clear, with a sandy bottom that stays shallow for quite a way out, which was great for our young grandchildren. Some days it was completely still, with no waves, and other days we had waves to jump through and ride on boogie boards. We really enjoyed it both ways. Everyone absolutely loved our week here – we will be back!

We had 6 adults and 4 children across 3 generations on this vacation. Three Gems was able to accommodate us all with comfort. The cottage was clean and updated, with all the necessities and more! Great location. Wonderful home!

We loved everything about this place. It was perfect for a family vacation with lots of sleeping space and several areas to sit and relax. Very conveniently located to the beach and lots of delicious restaurants, while also fully equipped with everything needed to enjoy the beach or make a meal at home. We hope to return again next summer!

We enjoyed our 2nd stay at this property. The weather was very hot and humid, but the closeness to the lake and the provided beach chairs and umbrellas along with the A/C made this vacation just as enjoyable as the first. Again, the owners were friendly and easy to work with and the house felt like a home.

We spent Aug 26th - Aug 31st at Three Gems for a family vacation which included 4 adults and 2 little kids. The accommodations were perfect for our company. There was plenty of space for kids to separate themselves playing games without losing sight of them by utilizing the front and back rooms. The place was very clean and Victor and Susan were very responsive with any questions we had. Our favorite part of the stay was the location to the beach which is a quiet block walk. We would do this in the morning and in the afternoon due to the kids resting schedules. They provided all the beach toys which were absolutely wonderful and a wagon to haul what we needed.

Our family vacation couldn’t have asked for a better location. The cottage is appointed with every need and comfort, and the beach was a very short and pleasant walk and was absolutely stunning. We hope to be back!
