We had a great time riding bikes, paddle boarding, reading, and exploring the area! The property was a good home base for us and it was really nice to be able to store bikes in the garage/shed.

Breathtaking is the best description of the view from this house. It is perfectly located - a short drive could bring you to a farm stand, hike, or to Burlington for the tasty food scene. The owner was pleasant and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend South Hero for a quiet getaway.

This lakeside cottage was great for our family of 4. We enjoyed everything the property had to offer including watersports (kayaks and rowboat) and proximity to local restaurants and attractions. Seb's quickly became a favorite with the kids and we also enjoyed horseback riding on the island as well as the local winery and brewery. Apple Island marina, a few minutes away, was a fun afternoon on the lake with a pontoon rental. The host was easy to communicate with and answered questions and addressed minor issues promptly. Wonderful cottage right on Lake Champlain. Had everything we need to cook meals, enjoy the lake and be close to family in Milton and all the area had to offer.

I stayed with my two boys--9 and 12. The house was perfect for us, with the master bedroom and twin beds in the other bedroom. The bathroom was quite large for the size of the house, and the extra half bath made things that much easier. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The house is small and an older style, but all of the furniture and bedding is newer and in great shape. Same for the floors, kitchen cabinets/countertops, and bathrooms. There were plenty of plates and silverware, and all the pots and pans you could need. The window AC unit was much appreciated the week we were there, as it was an incredibly hot week and we would have been sweltering without it. We also made ample use of the kayaks that are available. There is a large side yard that is good for yard games, throwing or kicking a ball around, etc. There is cornhole in the shed but we didn't play it. I agree with the one reviewer who said that the area out front is not great for swimming, which was very unfortunate given the heat we experienced. Most days, we just paddled around the little point to an area that was less weedy, but that meant getting in and out of kayaks in the middle of the lake...much easier for a couple of young boys than it was for this 45-year-old mama! But overall, it's a great location right on the lake and really easy for getting kayaks and paddleboards in and out of the water, which was really what we were there for anyway! This was a great house and we would definitely stay there again.

The cabin work out perfectly and our accommodations were great. We sat on the back porch every evening and enjoyed watching the sunset. We will return soon

We really enjoyed our stay at the lake cottage. It was very peaceful and nice location. It was nice to have the kayaks to use. We were able to something different every day. It's close to several nice beaches, a winery, and short drive to Burlington or Winooski. We would definitely go back! Thanks for a great experience.

This cottage is perfect for a family getaway. We enjoyed the rowboat and kayaks as well as the close proximity to Burlington.

We loved celebrating our daughter’s graduation at this wonderful place. We especially enjoyed kayaking and hanging out by the campfire. Our only regret is that we didn’t book for a longer stay!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in South Hero at this beautiful camp. There was everything (and more) necessary for a relaxing vacation and the lake frontage is superb. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I had a great visit in late July. Great deck with beautiful sunset views. Enjoyed the fire pit, kayaks and grill. Property was very tidy and well appointed and the owner, Bob, was responsive during stay. We enjoyed a wine tasting at Snow Farm winery and some time at the local beach. Would recommend this property to others!

My family was looking for a quiet spot on a lake to completely unplug and just "be" for two weeks. This camp was exactly what we needed. The house was small but cozy and well appointed, down to a waterproof carrier for our iphones when out on the lake. My husband and children used the row boat almost daily to fish when we weren't kayaking or biking the island. The island was completely bikeable even for my 7 year old son who could handle a number of miles that ended in ice cream at Seb's or a swim at White's Beach. The neighbors were friendly and the town inviting. We took day trips to visit Burlington and AuSable Chasm but otherwise, spent our evenings around the fire pit watching the sun go down with a glass of wine while the kids made S'mores.

The stay at the cottage was everything we hoped for and more. The layout of the cottage was open and inviting, and while small, was more than enough room to move about - nice open concept. Loved all the woodwork. No hassle access to the lake with our kayaks. Only downside was that you couldn't swim directly in front of the lake, as it's very shallow and a lot of reeds. But it was good for hopping on a tube and floating around! Bob was very hospitable and stopped by to be sure we had everything we needed. Thanks, Bob! Will definitely consider coming back again. We had a wonderful week on the lake. After spending A LOT of time at home lately, it was nice to have new surroundings. We enjoyed the lake, the kayaks, the fire pit, yard games, and the well-equipped house. The house is clean and comfortable with enough space for a family of four to enjoy. We highly recommend a visit.

The cabin was clean, adorable and had everything we could want- it was nicely stocked. We also had an amazing view of the lake. South Hero is a nice town and we had a great time driving around the island. We’re already talking about coming back next year!

We have just returned from a weeks vacation and only wish we could have stayed longer. The charming cabin was the most homely rental we have ever stayed in and we settled in right away. Everything you could need was provided and it was fun to have kayaks and rowing boat. We used the charcoal BBQ and sat out every evening watching the truly beautiful sunsets. We had a very memorable meal at the Blue Paddle Bistro and fun wine tasting at the Snowflake Vineyard. All our questions were answered promptly which is so crucial to a relaxing experience. We look forward to a return visit.

To say this beautiful home surpassed our expectations is to put it mildly. A welcome basket awaited our arrival and from that moment until we left two days later, we were pleasantly surprised at how well taken care of we felt! The home is FULLY stocked with lovely linens, blankets, condiments, fans/heaters. Truly every thing you could possibly need has been supplied. Outside the yard is well kept with a lovely garden. We were delighted by the availability of a row boat and two kayaks. We wouldn't think twice about coming to this idyllic spot again!

Michele is incredibly responsive. Home is immaculate and fully stocked including a thoughtful welcome basket. We enjoyed the property very much from the kayaks to the fire pit. The proximity to the lake and the views made our trip special. We will be back!

We had a great time staying here. The house was clean and comfortable. Me and my kids enjoyed sitting out by the lake, kayaking and relaxing indoors. Michele was very nice and helpful.

Michele’s place was beautiful! She had a lovely welcome basket waiting for us, was so prompt with all of her replies, and her place was lovely! The view is spectacular, the lake is just feet from the house with kayaks and a rowboat for you to use. We loved our stay so much. My sister left her makeup bag there and Michele let us know that she found it and offered to mail it to us and wouldn’t accept any compensation. She was a lovely host and I would 13/10 stay there again!

This well appointed " Rustic Chic " cottage by the lake is a lovely secluded property. Enjoyed our stay of 4 days in October. We would love to stay for weeks in summer. This property has much to offer at any time of year.
