Great location! Walking distance to coast highway 101 to enjoy entertainment, eateries and libations. Then walk off a content belly and relax at Moonlight State Beach.

We came to Encinitas from Arizona to visit family and enjoy a few days at the beach. This was the perfect location. It was a short walk to the beach and it had all of the emenities we needed to host a quaint dinner for our loved ones. Our stay felt like home away from home.

We rented the house for a number of our wedding guests who were flying in from overseas for our wedding. Couldn't have asked for a better place - clean, awesome location (right next to "down town" Encinitas and walkable to Moonlight Beach. Lance was very accommodating and even even arranged for an extended stay last minute with no hassles. Would highly recommend.

Great location, walking distance to town and beach. No need for a car if you are looking for a relaxing getaway in Encinitas. Fun firepit in the front yard. Could use a bar stool set in the front for 24/7 ocean views but the 2 lifeguard chairs are a cool touch and great way to catch a beautiful sunset. Great layout, basic kitchen, nice wraparound deck although the trees need some trimming to really catch a good ocean view from there. With a little TLC this place would be a 5 star but I found it to be totally comfortable and a great place to hang out. Lance is super cool and easy to work with. I would definitely return !

The house was clean, conveniently located and just the right size. Walk to downtown and the farmer's market is just across the street. We will certainly return.

We found the Cottage just as advertised. Met our expectations in all regards. Owner/neighbor seen one time in passing-very unobtrusive. We definitely would repeat. Especially enjoyed the quaint atmosphere of Encinitas, street festival, farmer's market, and the frozen yogurt shop- we walked every where. We visited nearby botanical gardens, numerous beach side parks, we aquarium, and a visit to Poway CA where we rode an old steam train. Just sitting out on the front lawn of an evening was so relaxing. If you are looking for a short get a way or an extended stay, you will not be disappointed.

We had a wonderful stay at this Encinitas cottage last week! We arrived on a Wednesday, which was fortuitous, as we were able to walk one block(!) to the lovely Encinitas Station Farmers Market (http://www.farmersmarketencinitas.com/) to stock up on gorgeous California produce for our stay. For everything else, we walked just a bit further to the local Whole Foods and any number of lovely restaurants and breweries within easy walking distance. The house was comfortable, quiet, and well-stocked with beach essentials (toys, umbrellas, beach towels), which was great for our visits to the gorgeous, family-friendly Moonlight State Beach (http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=659). The host was very helpful, and we had a great stay. Thank you!

loved Encinitas !! Loved this cute home ! everything we needed within walking distances. Lance went above and beyond WE will return, and stay in this cozy home my family and I loved it . Also one of my favorite= beaches thus far !

We stayed in the home for a family wedding. The home was comfortable and accommodating for our family of 5. We loved that the house was just a short walk to the beach.

This quaint little house was a welcome get away for us locals while our house was being renovated nearby. The owner was inviting and eager to make our stay enjoyable and succeeded! Highly recommend.

This was a great stay!! The house is perfect, great deck with grill. Clean, and had ample supplies. In walking distance to downtown and the beach. Lance was easy to work with. Will definitely be back !!

Approaching 40 and have tried doing at least three nice vacations per year the last decade or more. The week at Lance's place is probably my all time favorite. Not a surfer prior to coming, but since Lance had various beginner boards the whole family tried out some things every day and had a blast. The location is very convenient, walking to Whole Foods, the nice eateries and the beach. Nice to be in the slope with ocean view, or at least to get some overview of the surroundings. Loved the farmer's market which was Wednesdays I believe, think I went four times that day. Given the location in Southern Cali, and that the house is more than adequate for a family of four, the price/quality ratio is very hard to beat. Lance is a great guy to do business with and he really wants you to have a great time, and will help you out in the perfect no-problem-can't-be-fixed - attitude of the area.

We are a local family and stay down at the beach from time to time so we already knew this is a prime location for everything. Lance has done a great job making this beach cottage really cozy with up to date decor. The kitchen had everything we needed even though there are so many great restaurants within walking distance we had some great meals at the house. The farmer's market in 2 houses down and Whole Foods is so close. I loved walking to Whole Foods to grab a few things instead of driving to the grocery store. There are wonderful places to walk and if you have kids the Encinitas Library is just down the street with an ocean view and outdoor tables. There are many parks with playgrounds within walking distance as well if you have little ones. Lance is continuing to do improvements to this new on VRBO beach cottage and we will definitely stay there again!

A charming and well decorated place close to all restaurants and shops of downtown Encinitas. The kids loved how they could walk to the beach! We really liked the ocean breezes and the conveniences of being able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Last year we rented a place closer to the beach but got woken up multiple times around 2am due to all the folks who had been drinking at the bars so we opted to try staying east of the bar scene and that made all the difference. We are definitely going to be renting this place next trip (or the owners vacation rental right next door with the jacuzzi that allows pets so we can bring our dog). The owner was very nice and showed us both properties. We would highly recommend either one to anyone with or without kids or pets. I believe the other property ID# is 900191.

Loved...loved...loved this place!!! I will definitely be renting this house again. Although only 2 bedrooms, this small beach cottage has newly remodeled kitchen and living areas with an awesome deck & view of the ocean. The location is also perfect with bars, restaurants, and shopping within walking distance. Access to the train and freeways are also close by. You can enjoy Downtown Encinitas without having to get in your car. The kitchen has all new appliances and is stocked with everything you need to cook a great meal (Whole Foods is also only 2 blocks away which I loved). The living room has brand new furniture and large flat screen TV. Other things to name a few: All new hardwood floors throughout the house, washer & dryer, fire pit in the front yard, & a cute deck off the kitchen with small tables for seating. The owner was also very pleasant to deal with. It was a very last minute trip and I actually called him the day I was heading into town and was able to book the house without a problem. He sent some one to the house immediately to check on things and drop off the rental agreement for me. He made a very frustrating situation become very convenient & stress free. I would recommend renting this house and will be renting it again myself!!
