We loved our stay at Lochau. The views were unbelievable and the house was very spacious. The hiking trails right from the house are really special. Highly recommend staying here.

This home in the mountains of Lochau was a beautiful place and setting for our family vacation. We spent two of our 4 nights there watching the sunset from the deck from 5pm to 8 pm. The view and scenery were spectacular! Unfortunately the pool was not working during our stay which was disappointing for us but the owner of the property was apologetic and easy to deal with and was willing to compensate us for the unfortunate circumstance. The property is a wonderful spot to relax and chill and just hang out ! Although the place is a little ways out of town, there is a wonderful restaurant almost right beside it, where we enjoyed a lovely dinner one evening.

The reasons for our rating are as follows:-
1. The house is very disappointing inside. The photos have been carefully staged to show the good bits, but most of the house is very tired and old fashioned. For example, the photo of one bathroom shows one end, with new mirror and sink uni.t It does not show the ancient bath, or the old floor tiles, or the ancient washing machine in the corner. There is no photo of the kitchen or the other bathroom, because if anyone saw them, no one would rent this house.
2. We were not convinced of the cleanliness- we spent the first evening sweeping up insect bodies, there were cobwebs in corners, and there was a full ashtray left on the patio.
3 The garden was unkempt and the grass uncut, unlike in the photos.
Overall, we feel the photos are misleading.. The final straw was when the hot water failed (ancient boiler). We left early.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. Like others have said, the views are amazing. It was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the lake activities. The home comfortably slept seven adults and all amenities were included.

The house is very nice and the view is unlike any other. Photo's can't capture the breathtaking views of Lake Constance and the surrounding countryside. There is nothing like waking up in the morning and being able to see 3-4 different countries from the deck.
We will be back!

I cannot speak more highly about this vacation home. The pictures don't do it justice. The view from the home is absolutely incredible. You have a 180 degree view of the lake; the sunsets are just stunning. The home itself is beautifully appointed. The bedrooms are comfortable and well decorated. The bathrooms/kitchens are a little dated, but they have everything you need and more. The pool is brand new, and it's beautiful; still a little cold for us sadly! The extra features, garage, pool chairs, sauna, take the house from a 10 to an 11. The owner of the home was incredibly helpful with planning; she met us on time to give us the keys and was available in case we had any issues during the stay. Two great restaurants within walking distance of the house, and the towns of Bregenz and Lochau are just down the mountain. Perfect base for a large group (we had 7) that want to explore Lake Constance.
