Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The directions to the place were convoluted. I drove in during a snow storm when road signs were covered in snow and most of the town seemed like a one way, so don’t make a wrong turn or you’ll end up doing laps. The condo is situated above with parking behind the gateway beer and grocery store, and at no point was this made clear. The check in office was also a different address a block or so down the road, again not helpful in the instructions. The room was a clean, quaint little environment with everything you needed. Very isolated from everything though. I unfortunately became extremely ill with altitude sickness and had to make a quick descent, the company had no flexibility in refunds or partial refund for situations liked this that can life threatening, even with a doctors note. I ultimately ended in a Denver ER. Consider offering trip insurance, additional fees for refund options, etc especially if this is a common thing like everyone said. This only added more stress to an already super stressful situation.

The only thing I forgot was it was on the side of the highway, so it was noisy if you wanted the windows open. Other than that, it was perfect for us. Just wanted a few days away. Clean, and easy parking, but the neighbors are another story.... one of the local residents who lives in the building tried to pick a fight with me and my husband. It was raining outside and i followed him into the garage, he was pulling in right in front of me. I didn't think it was a big deal, so i didn't roll down my Winfield and use my key code and get all wet. The guy stops right in front of me to try to make the automatic garage door come down on my new truck... and he turns around and rolls his Winfield down and starts yelling at me and I'm like "go, go... it's going to hit my truck..." and my wipers are going and i can't hear what he's saying. So just in time, he pulls forward and i get through the door and it opens again for me before it smashed my hood. So i go in and park. He gets out of his truck and walks towards us like he wants to fight me. I'm a female by the way. My husband gets out of the passenger seat and interferes and he starts yelling at him, asking if we are staying here and telling us we have to use the code and telling us he's going to call the police. We were very calm and just said sorry we didn't realize, and we will do that next time. And he walked away and went up the stairs and we used the elevator. That was problem #1. Problem#2 was people making noise upstairs like running or stomping for two nights in a row, past 11:40 on Thursday night and past 12:45 AM on Friday night. We were there for a conference and needed sleep

We rented our skis from Breeze ski rentals, which is conveniently located in the building. Lots of walkable food and beverage places. The indoor parking is fantastic especially when it snows 8" overnight. We had an issue where we had to call the service number, someone answered righ away and was able to help up very quickly. Over all it was a great time.

Summit County Mountain Retreat took over the VRBO booking immediately after we booked. Their cancellation policy is more restrictive than VRBO and they agreed to the VRBO policies when we addressed it with them, so read the contract carefully. Summit County Mountain Retreat had great communication, check-in and check-out clearly stated, property in great condition.

The people above us decided to what sounded like where their ski boots around the room till 1:00 a.m. and starting again at 6:00 a.m. . The whole place smelled like pot but that's Colorado.

Just needed a quiet space to store our stuff and sleep and this was perfect. Fun amenities with the pool/hot tub and they have a little liquor/general store on the bottom level. Will definitely stay again.

Everything about this property was perfect. Breakfast downstairs at the Haywood Cafe and a quick trip to anything else we wanted. The best part was the service offered by Summit County Mountain Retreats. Between the check in packet with restaurant recommendations and the check in and check out texts with check ins in between, it was a great experience. Would come back again and again and highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights, and it worked out great. Everything worked well, and the photos & description accurately captured what the unit offered. There were ample restaurant options within walking distance, and the covered parking was a great plus. We'd stay here again.

I've lived in Colorado for over 50 years but moved out of state 4 years ago. When I come back it is to ski and not waste time. I love that the shuttle stops right in front of the building. After a full day of skiing, it's nice to soak in the indoor hot tub and relax the knees and muscles. The room is not large, but since I'm alone, the room suites me perfectly. The kitchenette allows me to fix simple meals quickly and have plenty of time to rest up for the next day on the slopes. I will be back in the future.
