This house was absolutely beautiful. Plenty of room for a group or family. Michelle and Mark were great hosts. Very easy to communicate with. Great location if you have a boat! Beautiful sunrises every morning. The pool was amazing!

Beautiful property with storybook views, everything was better than listed and very clean. The home owners mark and michelle may be thee nicest people in the world! We were the tenants from hell and mark bent over backwards to make sure we had the best possible time. He works on the property with all his free time after 12 to 15 hr days at his regular job to ensure his tenants are happy.. if they will let me back i would definitely stay here every year..

No complaints at all. Made friends with all the deer. The group got bigger everyday. Seems they told all the friends and family about the great apples we had for them in the mornings and evenings. At the end we had 3 Bucks, many new families visit. Was the Best time.

We loved this house. Plenty of room and beautiful views. We like being close to touristy things but not right in the heart of it. This place is perfect for that it’s close to key west and marathon but far enough you don’t feel crowded by people. The house has great amenities (laundry, pool toys, outdoor freezer, kayaks, etc)

We loved everything about the house and property. It was just perfect. Either lounging by pool, having drinks on the patio or out fishing. It was a perfect week.

A trip to remember! Plenty of space, nice layout of the house, beautiful view! Of course the key deer were a bonus we didn't fully understand until we interacted with them. Totally unique experience! We had bikes delivered to the property, and enjoyed that as well. Overall great experience, great rental! Thank you!

Our family had a wonderful time here. It is a beautiful location. Loved Athens interaction with the Key Deer, saw a Manatee, caught a tarpon, and a couple of sharks. Michelle and Mark were right there for anything we needed.

This was a family vacation with 3 adult couples, two 6 year olds and one 12 year old. The property was great for lots of kid activities- basketball, swimming, fishing and the kids brought scooters to ride under the house. Never got to use the kayaks but that was always an option. The house layout was perfect with a nice stocked kitchen and large open living area and plentiful bathrooms. We were 45 minutes from key west where some of the adults got to have a day trip. Marathon is also not far. It was also fun to see the iguanas and the deer. Michelle was great to communicate with and it was like we had our own separate island!

My family, children and grands, LOVED the Blue Heron! The house and kitchen were well equipped and beautifully decorated. The kitchen had everything you needed from blenders to coffee makers and all the grilling utensils you could imagine. The pool was pristine and had plenty of chairs and loungers to accommodate everyone. The kids loved hand feeding the deer, bring plenty of apples and carrots. Michelle was a pleasure to talk to and quick to respond to any questions I had. We will Definitely be back!!!

Off the beaten trail yet close to shopping and dining. Panoramic view , nice pool , large house and plenty of wildlife. Would definitely stay there again

Enjoyed the house. Spacious and very easy to spread out. Key deer in the yard and the tarpon in the backyard was an extra treat.

We all loved this property. It is very private and and the house is beautiful. The kids enjoyed the pool and looking for wildlife around the property. Plenty of space inside and out.

The Blue Heron was a great family trip for our family (three kids 6,8,10)! The house is on 15 acres and provides SO much peace and privacy. Our family loved the pool, fishing, kayaks (2 doubles, 2 singles), watching the sunrise, a huge shaded patio overlooking the pool for the hot afternoons, and daily visits from the key deer. Looe Key reef is about a 30 min boat ride away with several charters that leave from Big Pine. Bahia Honda state park is a 5 min drive and Horseshoe beach is also 5 mins away and provides some easy and shallow shore snorkeling. We also enjoyed the nature trails on the north side of thr island (5 min drive). The owners of this property live close by if you need anything and we’re very nice and hospitable! Highly recommend this rental!

Perfect location, we rented a boat for the week to keep at house. Tons of room, everything exactly as advertised, plenty of linens, stocked kitchen, pool, fishing, and Key Deer were a bonus! Would stay here again without hesitation.

Beautiful home on a secluded property with beautiful sunrises and wildlife to enjoy. Michele and Mark are lovely and accommodating.

We had a great time at this property! Absolutely stunning home, so many conveniences of home provided... and the view was amazing! The owners are great, very responsive. They live close by and are respectful of your privacy during your stay. Our boys enjoyed fishing both off the barrier island and in the canal. They caught several small tarpon, which seemed to be their favorite to catch and release. We even saw a manatee in the canal. We appreciated the protected dock for the boat as well. During Covid times, this an easy place to have a safe trip, very clean, easily distanced from others. We did get take out a few times, and enjoyed a few meals out, so many open air choices available near by. The boys had plenty of outdoor activities to keep them busy on this spacious property, basketball, kayaking, of course fishing.. they play baseball, plenty of room for them to long toss.. the highlight for all of us was of course the wildlife! The key deer visiting in the morning and at dusk was so much fun! There are many iguanas that call this property home. They are a little more shy than the deer. Pack the bug spray, remember this is the FL keys, it was a little windy during our stay, this helped keep the bugs at a min. We also enjoyed relaxing in the pool, it’s was big enough for our boys to play and swim. We found the location of Big Pine Key to be ideal, close to many good fishing spots, only about a 30 min drive to Key West, a little further to Marathon, where we like to go to “Robbie’s” at least once during our stay. Locally, the bait shop is great, easy access to groceries, the little farmers market stand on the side of the road is great, we enjoyed amazing pizza from “No Name Key Pub”, and even explored the local flea market and found a few treasures! Would definitely recommend this place to others, very affordable for the Keys, and we hope to come back soon!

The house was great and the pool and fishing were even better! This house was perfect for our family since we all love to do different activities. Some of us lounged by the pool, some of us fished, some of us kayaked! Definitely something for everyone! The property manager was very responsive and kind and answered all my questions. Feeding the key deer in the evenings was by far the coolest thing. The only downfall were the no see-ums and mosquitos. Just take bug spray and you will be fine. We were there over thanksgiving and the kitchen was pretty well equipped with nearly everything I needed to cook a big Thanksgiving meal. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

This is the best rental home I’ve stayed in by far. The pictures just don’t do it justice. Very spacious and beautifully decorated. The pool was also amazing. Michelle was very helpful, and responded immediately. She went beyond for our trip. We will definitely be booking again.

You will LOVE all the fun things to do: catch fish from shore, Swim in the pool or sun in the large deck area, large living/kitchen area for congregating, feed Key deer every day, beautiful sunrise, kayak, long walks, grilling, laundry facilities, etc. Wifi and television service was great. Large bedrooms (4) with private bathrooms. Only thing we didn't like were the gnats. Bring bug spray.

Owners were great and live next door. 30 minutes to Key West. We spent Christmas week with our boys. Large open floor plan great back porch and pool. We all had a great time. Fed the deer celery by hand. Only downer were the biting gnats of the keys. They kept us in at sundown.

This is our 2cnd year staying at the blue heron and we love it more each time. Great house, great location, great view, great owners, and it has a POOL😀😀

The property is very spacious with a very large pool. The access to the sea is not the best, it is only accessible with kayaks. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The fridge was not freezing properly, the clerk came to evaluate quickly, but did not pack it until the end of our stay. There was no shredder in the sink either, but it is not something that is needed so much. We saw deer everyday on the property. I think it would be nice if they had some beach items like chairs and umbrella for guests to use. There are plenty of towels to use at the house and on the beach. Overall we enjoyed the property, and would rent again on a next trip to the Florida keys.

We had a great stay at the Blue Heron Estate from June 16-24, 2019. Great location and the house has an abundance of room for a family of 6. Our boys had a blast in the pool and particularly liked the many Key Deer visitors that showed up throughout the week. They even named them! Easy boat or jet ski access at the dock and many marine attractions like Picnic Island and Looe Key are within a 30-minute boat ride. We would definitely book here again on future trips to the Keys!

The house, pool and docks for our boats were perfect for our marine research team. Lots of space for our equipment and personnel. The Key deer and other wildlife were a nice bonus. We'll definitely be renting this place in the future!

A very beautiful, luxurious property with a great location and quality amenities.

The Blue Heron is a beautiful home. This was our 8th visit to the keys, and The Blue Heron will be at the top of our list as one of our favorite places we've stayed. We will be renting it again in the future. The house is well equipped, and the bedrooms, each with a private bath was perfect. Enjoying the deer was nice too. Kayaking was fun, and our son appreciated the basketball hoop. Sand volleyball court is a nice adder too for large groups. I would highly recommend this property. It's a private place too, which is nice. The owners were great to work with. We may even check out their other property in the future as well.
