This house was beautiful! The bedrooms were large, the kitchen had everything you could ever need. We spent most of our time on the deck overlooking the ocean. There was plenty of seating on the deck with a lovely big table and a fire pit we used at night. The location was perfect and we walked to the beach every day.

We absolutely loved our stay at this home. You can tell when the owner truly loves a home when you walk in, and this home had that vibe. We were there as a multigenerational family on vacation and all had enough space to be together or separate as needed. The first level enters from the garage with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms and access to the paved yard with table tennis and a basketball hoop perfect for the kids to be outside for fun. There are (pretty steep) steps up to the 2nd level which has two living areas, dining room, kitchen, half bath, main bed/bath and access to the deck with ocean views. The main bedroom also has access to that amazing deck. At night we left the glass doors open to fall asleep to the sound of the crashing waves. The two things we had trouble with were spotty Internet and cable, especially on the lower level. We had to use our hotspot while working from home and sometimes the tv would randomly freeze. And second, there are pesky ants in the kitchen and downstairs bathrooms. Staying at previous beach homes in the area, we know this is something that all homes there battle with so we just did our best to prevent them enjoying our food and smushing them whenever we caught them walking around. Not a deal breaker by any means. Also, if you are beach people like us, this home has everything you need for a nice beach day- sand toys, boogie boards, wetsuits, beach chairs, umbrella, etc. The only thing that could be added in the home are plastic wear- plastic bowls, plates, cups and eatery. With kids eating there too, it was a little frightening with them using breakable dishes and glasses. Either way, the home was amazing and we’d love the chance to come back next year!

The evidence of your warmth could be felt throughout the house from the National Park gallery downstairs to the well read bookshelves all over. We were able to live here in the most comfortable everyday way. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook most of our meals (so helpful during the pandemic). And the views from the deck were spectacular. We didn't miss not being able to enjoy the bars and restaurants of Encinitas simply because we could relax outside with gorgeous sunsets every night. I hope we are able to return again soon.

We loved our stay in Leucadia! I would agree with the other reviews. The pictures of this house do not show how nice and cozy it is and they have everything you could possibly need for your beach vacation. The only downside was the wifi. My husband needed to work during our stay and the wifi was not strong enough for him to be on video calls. There are several remote offices in the area, so it was an easy fix. We loved the Leucadia/Encinintas/Carlsbad area! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Our family of 8 loved this home! A short walk or bike ride to uncrowded beaches. Super well-equipped kitchen and throughout including beach goodies. Ping pong table and a great selection of board games completed the experience. Stay here!

We had a great time staying here - particularly enjoying the large deck and the backyard. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and we were able to do lots of complex cooking. Lots of good restaurants and coffee shops walkable nearby. The air conditioner was welcome in the heat wave while we were there.

I have never stayed at a VRBO or Airbnb that we felt more at home. This home is amazing, just bring your cloths and groceries because everything you need is here. We love to cook together as a family and everything you need is in this kitchen!! The beds were so comfortable and all your beach needs are available (boards, bikes, towels, chairs, umbrella, bags, coolers). We will book again soon!!! Thank you for being a great host and opening your home to us.

Loved our stay!

Our stay in Leucadia/Encinitas was wonderful. We could not have asked for a better getaway. The house sits just a block from the ocean and is within walking distance to 2 beaches which sit below the spectacular cliffs. A very cool walk down to the beach from the top of the cliffs. if you are packing a lot of stuff it's a quick car ride, but there is plenty of parking. Amazing views from the house deck and the master bedroom (the photos do not do the house justice), and we loved sitting on the deck with drinks watching folks on the bike path. We appreciated the dog friendly owners, the bikes available, and even wetsuits in the garage for the kids to use. The check-in was effortless, the house was Covid-clean and the owner Diane could not have been nicer. We can't wait to return !

This place was great. We loved the patio, deck, boogie and surf boards, and BIKES especially. The house even had extra wetsuits, which were perfect for the kids. The location is a dream. We walked and biked everywhere. As others have said, the pictures do not do it justice. We are already planning our trip for next year!

The rental is much nicer than the photos and it is equipped with everything you need especially in the kitchen. It was like being in your own home,so warm and comfortable. The beds, linens and fun things for kids, teenagers and adults were all there. The owner was very helpful and I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed being in the rental. We enjoyed going to the beach which was right down the street and we shopped at Costco and Albertson's. I would highly recommend this rental to my friends and relatives.

The house was very comfortable. Everything we needed was there. The book of information was very helpful. I did not feel like I was staying in someone else's house. It really did feel like home.

Our family stayed at this vacation home, it was perfect. The upstairs had an amazing master suite, with a view of the ocean. The kitchen was so easy to work in, and spotless clean. This home was way more than what we expected, will definitely be back.

My husband and I have been renting homes for vacation for the past ten years. We have stayed in many nice places however this has been by far the best experience. We felt like guests of the homeowners, not renters. They greeted us with a very nice bottle of wine. The house had every amenity you could want and more! Comfortable beds and linens, the best cookware, the cleanest and well stocked bathrooms, kids entertainment, bikes, washer and dryer with detergent, wet suits and surf boards... You could not ask for more! Encinitas was fabulous! Close enough to both San Diego and Orange County but yet laid back. My only regret is during our week stay, we had to commute three days to OC taking away time at the house. I can't thank Diane enough. I felt as if I had spent the week with her as our hostess yet I never met her. She even mailed a possession to us we left behind without being asked. If you are contemplating between this house and another, choose this one. You won't regret it!

The vacation rental had all the amenities a family would want for a beach vacation. The property was very clean and well maintained. The property owner left detailed instructions for the home and provided a guide for local attractions. I would highly recommend this property.

I can't recommend this property more highly. Clean, comfy, warm and homey, this house made my family feel like we were in our own home. This is not a fancy, high-end, modern beach house. It is a warm family home, with games, bikes, beach equipment, and all kinds of fun stuff for you to use during your stay. The owner is professional and prompt in her replies, answering all questions in a timely manner. The property is well-maintained and comfy, with a neat small backyard and a big open deck with a view of the water. The walk to the beach is about 15 minutes. I would highly recommend this property. The price is right and the property is perfect.

This is our 5th rental home in northern San Diego county, and by far our best experience. House was immaculate. Beach and Leucadia donut were a short walk. House perfectly outfitted with games, DVDs, beach toys, bikes, etc. Host engaged and helpful. We hope to return year after year.

My family had a wonderful stay at this lovely home. A great deck and backyard, fully furnished kitchen and comfortable beds are some of the highlights. Plus friendly hosts who make the details easy to handle. Easy parking in the garage. Lots of beach toys and kids toys and books for those of you with children ---- they will love this home. The house is on two levels so one needs to be able to do stairs to be comfortable here. That is the only caveat to this amazing house. We walked almost everywhere ---- to Pannikin Coffee, Moonlight Beach, downtown Encinitas, Beacon's Beach (just a few blocks away) and Grandview Beach (a few blocks the other way). Neptune Dr is a one-way road and this makes it extra fun and community-oriented to be outside in this neighborhood. We didn't want to leave! This was truly a fantastic get-away. A gorgeous home with wonderful views of the ocean from both inside the house and from the lovely patio. Sits on a one way street with two entrances to the beach a short walk away. It was fun to watch all the surfers as they walked down to the beach. Beautiful accommodations. Everything was top quality (high thread count cotton sheets, excellent mattresses, comfy duvets, comfortable furniture), tastefully done and scrupulously clean. The kitchen is well equipped and made our dinner party a breeze. There were plenty of games, movies and books for all to enjoy. The hot tub was a definite plus. A wonderful place for our large family reunion. We found it close to great cafes, restaurants, a super donut shop and to the train station. We would highly recommend this property, it’s perfect for any age group and for large or small groups. Hoping to return very soon.

We absolutely love the house and have stayed many times! The house is beautifully decorated, very well equipped, has nice bedrooms and bathrooms and a nice kitchen. It is always spotless. There is lots of space in the entire house. We love spending time on the deck, enjoy the ocean view and the sound of the waves. Access to the beach is in walkable distance. My daughter enjoys all the beach toys that are available ;-) The owner is very helpful. We have a great time every trip and can easily recommend this property!

Our family rented this home in October 2010 and we were very pleased. To preface, I have rented a handful of homes in the San Diego area and it is not worn out like the homes in Mission/Pacific Beach. This trip we had my 86 year old grandmother, my parents, two 17 year old boys and myself. The house is spacious enough that you can enjoy your privacy. The view is very nice and you can hear the waves, the house is on a one way street, first street from ocean with at least million dollar homes, so...nice location. You feel as though you're staying at your friends vacation home because it is stocked with nice personal touches and the finishes are high quality. They have tons of books, movies, cds, toys for kids of all ages, beach toys and bicycles. The shower heads in the bathrooms are great, the beds and all of the furnishings are nicer than I have found in any of the other homes I rented. The towels are nicer than I use at home. The kitchen is stocked with nice dishes (crate and barrel), appliances, coffee makers, etc There are even healthy house plants. The jacuzzi was an added bonus. I walked down to Moonlight Beach in the mornings. The house is not far from 2 beach entrances. Everyone in the area walks, bikes or is headed to the beach, so you get the beach vibe if that is your desire. It is close to everything including nice restaurants and the train station. The kids loved the taco and donut shops nearby. I drove them to Solana Beach and they took the Surfliner (Amtrak) to Disneyland without any trouble. The only thing you should be aware of is that the living area is upstairs, if you're traveling with anyone that struggles with stairs this should be a consideration. My grandmother didn't have any trouble. I don't know the owners, I'm just offering a recommendation that this is a nice home & I will return. Please take care of it if you go there! :)
