This was our first time vacationing in OBX so we were a little nervous about this whole experience but let me tell you it was amazing! The photos do not do this house justice. It is even nicer in person! The house itself was very clean which was nice. We did not have to waste time cleaning anything when we arrived. The walk to the beach is very manageable even for someone like myself who has back problems. Half way through the week a very nice gentleman showed up and cleaned the pool and Jacuzzi for us which we thought was great. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend staying in this beautiful home!

Couldn't see the ocean at all but the sound was visible from the deck. Enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to the birds. Lots of interior steps, three levels. Very well equipped kitchen and picnic table on the top deck outside the kitchen door. Very nice pool and hot tub. Although 51/2 baths, only one to share between two bedrooms serving six people. Place was very clean. Kudos to housekeeping for finding and turning in to office two Father's Day cards with gift cards in them. Office contacted me to have returned to me. Any small house repairs were handled quickly. Enjoyed our stay.

The beach was close (literally just down the street), all the shopping and amenities in Duck were nearby, and the home had everything we could want. Reviewer Comments: upon arrival the first thing I found through the house was cob webs with spiders hanging in the corners off the rooms as well as the ceiling fans. The spindles leading to the living room had spider webs all over. If house keeping had just cleaned how they missed all of this is sloppy work. i shouldn't have to come in and clean before we unpack and start our vacation. We also found the sliding door leading to the pool had the locking mechanism broken off and laying on the floor. I called property management and they assured me someone was coming out to fix it and it never happened. I wasn't able to secure the door when we left the property or when we went to bed. that wasn't safe for my family and our possession. We also requested that the front be power washed, the doors and windows were covered with bugs as well as the deck and the railings and the furniture. I couldn't enjoy the deck because of dirty it was with the bugs. I couldn't let my grandchildren even play on the deck because of the bud debris and all the spiders and webs which were covering all the furniture and hanging down from the rafters and door frames. I called and reported this and again property management assured me it would be done on Sunday or Monday which that didn't happen. Finally the guy showed up on Thursday to clean the deck and i left on Saturday which meant we were able to use the deck 1 out of 7 days, to be treated like this was very unprofessional. im honestly not sure that i would use Beach Realty again. Thank you

This time we were prepared - we brought our own cleaning supplies and took care of that. In their defense when I sent notice that the home wasn't clean, someone from housekeeping called and offered to come and clean. Wow, the spiders had a colony in the home! Yikes!!

The good: great location, spacious home, plenty of parking. The bad: Broken outdoor furniture, broken non usable grill, fire alarms malfunctioning randomly going off and broken promises from management/maintenance to fix the items. They did keep one promise, they sent someone over to spray the home from the massive amounts of spider webs and bugs all over the property and the contractor did a great job getting it back in shape.

This large house is a great property for a couple of families looking for a vacation home close to Duck and all that has to offer and a short walk to the beach. The house could have been cleaner on our arrival and certain parts such as the information folder and pool area need updating but overall a great house and we had a fantastic week.

We really enjoyed our stay.

Great place for a large group of 13-14 or so

The overall cleanliness of the property was a discouragement. Spending a day cleaning was not what we had hoped for. The ceiling on the lower level leaked during the rain. Buckets were needed to keep the floor safe. This was a once in a lifetime trip for us. Being with our children and grandchildren made it a wonderful outer banks experience In spite of those issues.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this house for the first time this year. We had a full house of adults. I figured we could make it work with 6 bedrooms. But in actuality, there were really only 4 bedrooms suited for an adult. The beds in the 2 rooms with a twin and bunks were unfit for a larger person to sleep on since the mattresses were so poor. So if sleeping is important to you and you want to put adults into these two bedrooms, think again. Another thing which we had issues with was the two sitting rooms so close together on the main floor. We thought it would be good with so many adults if watching tv. But because there is no door on the sitting room, the two tv's competed with each other so you couldn't watch them both at the same time, and the one on the bottom sitting room was broken (or we could not get it to work). Finally, I gave the property an average review on cleanliness which may not be completely fair, but I was staying in the upstairs room which perhaps was less well maintained then the other rooms so that is what I focused on a lot - paint peeling in the bathroom, lots of dust on the ceilings. The house was clean in the places that are most important - kitchen, toilets and showers. I have rented a lot of houses, so maybe I am too critical and others would be fine in this house and just happy to be at the beach. So take it for what it's worth :)
