This is the third time our family of four has stayed in Mark's amazing home. It is always super clean and well-stocked and so homey. We were only able to stay for two nights, but we got in some sledding on their awesome back hill, s'mores around the fire pit and lots of rounds of Pictionary. The views are to die for and all the furniture is super comfortable. We will be back again for sure!

Our second stay at this rare, large and well appointed cabin less than 10 minutes from town. We wanted to introduce our close friends to Idyllwild and knew this would be perfect. And so it was. I daresay we will be back again.

Just got back home from a WONDERFUL stay at the cabin! The property is beautiful, peaceful and private! The kitchen handled everything we could throw at it. The kids loved exploring the property and, as my daughter stated, "extreme rock hopping"! We've rented cabins around the Idylwild-Pine Cove area but were frequently disappointed about the lack of privacy (so many cabins stacked so close to each other) but not this place! Lastly, the view is jaw-dropping! Watching the sun set each night was one of the highlights of the trip.

We celebrated a family member’s 50th birthday at the cabin. The cabin was everything we hoped it would be and gave us a place to create great memories. We are already planning to return!

Very clean, accommodating, and spacious property. High quality and well-provided cabin amenities, kept children ranging from toddlers to teenagers entertained and very happy. The views from property are beyond spectacular. Mark and family, thank you so much, we hope to enjoy again soon!

This place is amazing. Lots of outdoor space for games. Nice fire pit area with a beautiful backdrop of the mountains, trees, and city below. Our group really enjoyed our stay.

A beautiful home with amazing views! This place has everything you could need and more. It is the perfect size for two families with kids (the bunk room is awesome!), spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds, a cozy fireplace and lots of indoor and outdoor space. Mark was very responsive when we had questions, and we can't wait to go back again someday.

This is the fourth time we've visited the property and truly enjoyed our stay. While close to LA basis it feels like its miles away. The views are great and the kitchen is outfitted for group cooking. I highly recommend a visit.

We enjoyed the cabin and especially the view. The only issue we had was running out of hot water after a day.

We very much enjoyed our time at the Hilltop Cabin. We were 8 adults and one two-year old (he gets a lot of attention). The accommodations were great. We were all comfortable (3 in the bunk room). There's plenty of room to be together or get away. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment, we cooked nearly all our meals and were able to find everything we needed. The property is very private, with no immediate neighbors, and generally pretty quiet. The highway is nearby, but wasn't really obtrusive. Unfortunately the valley was pretty hazy during our trip, but I imagine the view is stunning when it's clear. Overall we had a great week and definitely recommend the property.

This is an ideal spot to escape with two families. The house has everything families need -- a great kitchen to cook in, an open and comfortable living space full of games and a beautiful view, and a lot of outdoor space to explore.

Locations is perfect and the cab itself had everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable! My 3 year old loved running around outside and playing in the playground :)

We are two families with two kids each. We thought the cabin was fantastic. The kids all slept in the bunk room and LOVED it. We could all of our meals in the very well appointed kitchen. I have zero complaints about this property and even suggested to my husband that we go back! Thanks for a wonderful weekend getway!

This was the perfect spot for a quick weekend away from the city. Location is incredible, excellent views, close to the charming village of Idyllwild but still private and feels secluded. Fire pit was a bit and they layout of the house with a kids bunk room was ideal for our group. We will stay here again !

I have been taking my kids to Idyllwild for the past couple of years now and hands down, this was the best cabin we have stayed at! I have 4 kids, ages 7-10, and they can not wait to come back and stay here again. For the first time in my VRBO bookings, this cabin was even better and larger than the photos made it appear. The owner, Mark, was so easy to work with and the cabin has every basic amenity you would need. The property is beautiful, super fun to go exploring with the kids and you will never get tired of the views and sunsets. We woke up to deer outside the backdoor a couple of times. I can't wait to take my family back here again.

The property was beautiful, the host was very responsive and keep us up to date with the weather since we went in the middle of a snow storm. Nothing could have been better! Loved the cabin and would definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful time at this house. It sits on 4.5 acres so feels like a private getaway. Plenty of space for my kids to run around and play. The house was very clean and kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need. There is a big balcony with spectacular view. The host was very responsive and accommodating. The property is beautiful and fully stocked for a family stay. I packed way less than typical simply because I knew the house is well prepared to host a family. Our kids love exploring the property and watching the snowfall out the massive window. The bunk room is a hit! Perfect house for a family stay. Mark is always available to us. We continue to enjoy the house and look forward to future stays!

We had an amazing time enjoying the beautiful property overlooking an amazing view. The cabin was stocked with everything and very clean. Definitely highly recommended.

What an amazing property and house. The pictures don’t do the property justice; peaceful and serene and views for miles. The kids were able to take off on trails and bikes and explore. The owners have gone done so much to make this cabin feel like home for guests, it is fully equipped and we loved there were so many spaces to hang out. Beds were very comfortable and plenty of space for your family. We will definitely book this cabin again.

We absolutely LOVED the cabin and property! Our family had the best mountain vacation. The cabin is perfectly suited for a family with kids. The rooms are perfectly laid out, the kitchen is fully stocked, kid supplies available, and games for all ages! We loved exploring the large property, using the firepit, and enjoying the beautiful view! Mark was very responsive to us as well. We cannot wait to return! Incredible stay and house all around.

We were not able to stay at the property due my father’s sudden passing, but we’re able to work our a last minute solution with the property owner. Their compassion at a difficult time meant the world to me

This is the second time I've stayed at the Cabin. The grounds and views are stunning. The kitchen is outfitted for a serious cook. There were 10 of us and group really enjoyed Idyllwild.

I had been looking for a place for my family to have a brief getaway as we had been in "isolation" since the Covid thing began. With a 2 year old we didn't want to travel far, so when this property unexpectedly showed up on vrbo it looked ideal. Within 10 days, we were there and it was everything and more than what we expected. The house had everything we could need and quickly felt like home. The expansive property on the mountain within the pines and amazing views provided us with the tranquility we so desperately needed during these crazy times. It was hard to leave the beauty and peace of this cabin. Our host, Mark, was stellar in his communication and his helpfulness. He went above and beyond to help us and we are so grateful to him and his family for sharing their home with our family. Thank you Mark!

Perfect for a mountain getaway. The cabin was awesome, and the land around it was great for views and exploring. Highly recommended this one.

Wow. My family of 7 adults and 4 kids ages 1 through 6 wanted to take a covid safe weekend vacation, and this cabin was absolutely perfect. We used the playground, walked around the property, had a campfire, stargazed, did a couple puzzles, and watched the sunset on the beautiful deck. The house was perfectly furnished and equipped. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook anything (All-Clad pots and a high speed blender and a pizza stone and....literally everything you would need), including tons of plates for adults and kids. But importantly the cabin didn’t seem cluttered and there was almost nothing for my 1 year old niece to get into trouble with! As an FYI, there’s no AC, but unless you were staying here the weekend of extreme heat waves across the Southwest (like we did) you wouldn’t need it (plus the downstairs stayed cool). And, for some context, the cabin is right off the 243 highway between Pine Cove and Idyllwild—perfectly isolated from the rows of cabins near the town, but with extremely easy access to the town and nearby hikes and walks. We will be back in the winter to test the sled run on the property!!

Our group of 8 very much enjoyed our stay. Cabin was clean and is well laid out, with large dining tables both inside and out on the deck, and a well stocked kitchen with 2 ovens and a large stovetop. Mark was very responsive. Highlight is the beautiful sunset views from the large upstairs deck. Also very convenient location for access to Marion Mountain and Deer Springs trailheads.

Amazing cabin in a perfect location; great for families with kids; large balcony with a beautiful view; we would definitely stay again!
